Let's try to figure out the algorithm behind how teams are distributed so we can abuse it

Let's try to figure out the algorithm behind how teams are distributed so we can abuse it.

Post the result of your IP expressed as a hexadecimal number Modulo 5, i.e.
0x7F000001 % 5; /* 127.0.0.1 -> 3 */

if you don't want to calculate it yourself myipnumber.com/ lists your IP in its decimal/hexadecimal form.

Mine is 3.

Ok so it's clearly not as simple as my original suggestion.

People who can do so without consequence (i.e. using a public wifi or behind some sort of proxy) should post their IPs so we have some data to work with.

Well that theory is pretty much fucked already, anybody else have an idea to try?

Team creme has been #1 from the start, no? Is it rigged?

it could also just be randomly assigned

people could also be shitposting

17

That'd be too easy.

Your Public IPv6 is: 2607:fb90:9459:ec30:704d:b483:9ae5:8608
Your IPv4 is: 172.58.70.255
Your Local IP is: 172.16.209.1
Location: Mosquero, NM US
ISP: T-Mobile USA Inc.

Using formula 3
But my last number IP 69 or 69 % 5 = 4

3

I doubt anyone would go through the effort of tracking randomly-assigned mappings server-side when byte array hashes that are proper hashes (i.e. you'd need like a set of at least 100,000 actual IPs and their hash on top of knowledge of proper hash algorithms to even begin to try to decode) are just a google search away.

Wtf, my ip is 127.0.0.1, same as OP
How is that possible?

The absolute state of Jow Forums

based

It's likely random just like the post IDs in the boards that have them (like Jow Forums) are. I doubt it's easily deducible, and even if it was, there aren't many ways you could abuse this (esp since it's going away tomorrow).
That said, it's odd how Team Creme is consistently No.1 while others seem to swap places.

haven't seen this posted yet, but might help people to test algos, based on the CSS names it looks like this is the order of the teams

0 = Peep
1 = Chocolate
2 = Cream
3 = Peanut Butter
4 = Mini

2

yea this is true
also it is based on the IP

I have a theory
It's using google and facebook botnets to determine the kind of porn you search for
>creme = normal
>peanut butter = asian
>chocolate = ebony
>mini = brapper/scat

the LAST part of the IP

test

>absolute state of team pepe

>>creme = normal
>>peanut butter = asian
>>chocolate = ebony
>>mini = brapper/scat
hmm might be true

I'm from iraq so it got noting to do with the IP's location

NOPE. mine is 1 but Im peep

more like state of team peanut butter
bunch of retards

actually this might be correct for me

hmmm

It's ok, he's behind a carrier grade NAT. This information is useless (for you).

it's true for me

except I have everything blocked

This is insane

the numbers i posted are not part of your IP, its the ID of each team.

so find an algo that works out where your IP gives you the right ID as the result

Testing cookie/session based salt

I think it has to do with what thread you post in or who you reply to first before you get a team assignment.

Both me using 2 computes on my same network. 2nd post was incognito window also

Nah, it would have to be generated every time on a hash to save on storage.

Trust me, there are plenty of people on Jow Forums using some tinfoil combination of script-less, cookie-less browsers to guarantee that it isn't stored client-side.

So that pretty much confirms it is IP related then. I'm phone posting and tried refreshing my IP address and I'm still peep as well. I had a theory that it was based on IP Class but it it looks like class D and E IPs aren't used for public shit. I also tried to find a relationship between the numbers from the CSS and the last octet of my IP but I couldn't find any.

what do you mean? it could just be entirely server side using ip addresses.

My last part IP 69, this guy guy 255
69% 5 = 4
255 % 5 = 0
Codes from

test

it's probably just random lel

TEAM PEANUT BUTTER! Doo-Doo/10

It's probably determined by a hash of the IP, because IPs addresses are not distributed in an uniform way.

You probably live in the same building.

maybe it has something to do with the timestamp of your first post?

Fails for me, I end in 215 but am a mini

I think thats probably it, if a creme or chocolate or something could post the last octet of their IP please.

Would require storing your team on the server/cookie Server storage would not be efficient, and cookies have already been disproved

It's plausible for me, last IP block is 28, 28 mod 5 = 3

212.3.195.137

then they would either need to store that or do a non-trivial database query to look it up, which would be a massive waste of resources. It's almost certainly based on a hash.

wrong retard, it could tie it to your IP address, which only one user has tested using his phone and he got the same team. so it's either regional ip based, or random and he got unlucky to roll the same team.

my ip ends in 16 and I'm mini, so it doesn't check out.

last part of my ip is 175
175 % 5 = 0

alright, posting from my phone which ends in 189, let’s see what I get

switching to mobile data
i am

189 % 5 = 4
Yeah, this theory is busted.

Testing mobile

3rd octet % 5 works for me

hey i'm on a not shit team now!

2

FOUND OUT HOW THE POINTS SYSTEM WORKS.

it count dubs

Testing mobile

Who said it has to be the last octet of the IP? Could be the second to last etc.

Which is the furry princess

Mine and this guys IP work
69 % 5 = 4
255 % 5 = 0

This guys works
28 % 5 = 3

This guy's works
137 % 5 = 2

But these dude's doesn't

Testing 3rd octet of 7 on phone

reconnecting to wifi, i should be peanut butter now

I was banned from Jow Forums for changing my ip :(

Both me and working with 3rd octet

what about this?

Rolling team

That's what you get for accepting cookies from Jow Forums.

burger here
this seems bogus

I'm My third octet works too.

This guy's doesn't though

A huge part of 4ch run adblock and some even disable scripts etc.
Handling all that is simply too much effort for such a simple joke.

Busted. I browse the same shit on my home and mobile connection, I got two different results
is my mobile connection,

Test

3

How are IDs determined on boards that have them?
It's probably the same shit.

4

Are IDs just base64 values and are they shared between boards?

It can't be based on pseudo random functions like MD5 or SHA or anything that produces equal distributions because the distributions are obviously not equal

5

The score is different from the team distribution.
Score could be a separate random number, or a counter of something like images.

>muh inequality
>team chocolate
color me surprised

Testan

I'm european.
Both my phone and desktop are on the same team.

Five tests last part IP
170%5=0 peep
234%5=4 mini
16%5=1 creme
227%5=2 pb
14%5=4 pb

nope

Skinny peep that barely gets food ads here, sounds fake and gay
