How big of a difference in picture quality can there be across two different players playing the same file?

>Gee I wonder what day it is
At least they have a sense of humor I guess.

What a horrid april fools prank. Its not even funny.

They completely one-upped Jow Forums though.

Hopefully madshi is going to release his own madPlayer with d3d11/d3d12 60% faster renderer with totally new motion interpolation algo (multi-gpu support) and gan based realtime upscalers.

It's great, fag. I wish you were team peep along with the rest of the subhumans

fk off

finally the weeb media player we've been waiting for

Holy shit user don't scare me like that.

Why are media players the only one doing this?

Vulkan support on MacOS when?
However the latest iina-player release works great.

Did you guys know that iJustine uses mpv?

How am I supposed to install it when the site is fucking redirecting elsewhere? Anyone got an alternative?

Using your distro's remote repositories

This proves it all along mpv is nothing but vlc without the GUI

HAHAHAHAHAH

Mpv in C++ when?

New to MPV. Is there a configuration or script I can use to make it so hitting the escape key also pauses the video as well as windows it?

just grab the unofficial executive binary that some weebo cunt coded

input.conf

not him, but how do you bind more than one action via input.conf?

Nice. At least wm4 & Co have some fun on the job.

Seperate by semicolon, is it so hard to read the guides?:
github.com/mpv-player/mpv/blob/master/DOCS/man/input.rst#general-input-command-syntax

One of us.

Thank you, and yes, it sometimes is - the whole guide is really long, and searching by keywords occasionally gets you nothing because the feature is called something different than you searched for. Up to this point I didn't even know there was a separate manual for input.conf (because I were looking for a way to launch multiple commands at once, instead of looking up command syntax).
My bad, not my bad - thank you again and sorry for being a brainlet.

One more question I can't find an answer to. How can I prevent mpv from closing if youtube-dl failed?

>installed windows for the first time for a new /gay/ming pc
>128gb 4k video lags as fuck in VLC
>download MPV
>redirects to VLC

fuck WHO DID THIS?

I find that actually kind of funny, well played

idle=yes

She's gonna start a fire.

Sore wa yabai!

Whenever I try to play anything from youtube, I get this
ERROR: Unable to download webpage: (caused by URLError(SSLError(1, '[SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed (_ssl.c:600)'),))
I know I can use "--no-check-certificate" for yt-dl as a workaround for that error, but I don't know how to put that as an argument for mpv so I can watch the videos without having to download them first. Any tips?

Great, it works. I'm surprised that keep-open=always doesn't force the same behavior.

I wrote a simple lua script to change mpv's default idle picture ("No file" is the filename in my case)
function idle_load_picture()
mp.commandv("loadfile", "No file", "replace", "taskbar-progress=no,keep-open=yes,osc=no")
mp.osd_message("No file")
end

mp.register_event("idle", idle_load_picture)

that, plus a hotkey (I know that I could register EOF as well, but sometimes I like to keep video / livestream open so mpv holds everything in cache)
` loadfile "No file" replace taskbar-progress=no,keep-open=yes,osc=no

Script isn't as fast on startup as aliasing
mpv=mpv --{ "No file" --taskbar-progress=no --keep-open=yes --osc=no --}

but at least it works with youtube-dl.

--ytdl-raw-options==[,=[,...]]
Pass arbitrary options to youtube-dl. Parameter and argument should be passed as a key-value pair.
Options without argument must include =.

Oh, actually, I can just do both alias and script. Hell yeah, now it works just the way I want it to.

So mpv really was created by weebs?

Attached: image.jpg (240x228, 86K)

how can i scale and position mpv when vo=drm?
i want it to not take up the full screen

Got it, thanks a lot for the help.

Breddy gud

our girl?

I just had to send some guy a link to the windows builds because this stupid prank wouldn't let him download it.

You have to be retarded to think this is funny

>windows builds
>wouldn't let him download it
it is funny

subhuman VLCpajeet detected

It's kinda funny though

>cross-compile a windows binary for work
>whenever I try to play a video the screen would be white, but the subs and the audio, as well as the OSC, would work perfectly fine
The only thing that helps is to set the output driver to direct3d. What am I doing wrong?

I find it funny

test

sleep tight doggo

first time i actually try to install it and this happens

fucking weebs

April fools is a pile of shit. The whole internet turns into reddit for a day.

As big as my dick in your boypussy.

Does this video player have the ability to show custom thumbnails?

Page is the same for me. What do others say?

Epic. This is the type of joke only an infantile autist can come up with.

I recently reinstalled Arch and I don't have an mpv config. What happened to the copy-paste ones? Default mpv config makes my laptop hot (x220 btw)
