Could some on explain PATH to me, when trouble shooting online I often see people say put it in the PATH, what do they mean by this.

window's environement variable path. Basically its one of the primary locations checked by windows to see if a dependency for a program/process can be determined; if it fails it usually checks the program's local execution folder or some folder in /windows. Anything else has to be specified by the program where it wants to look.

in that case basically a list of things to look through when someone specifies a command in the shell. e.g. bash would go look for bash, and if it finds it execute it at the specified folder in path.

This will show you your User and System variables. One of these variables in both User and System will be called either path or PATH. This will tell Windows to search this location when trying to execute commands.

You can edit this and add values, separated by a semicolon, to tell Windows to search other locations. This is necessary when you want to be able to use certain commands from the command line.

Does anyone here use hydrus? I've started trying to move my Jow Forums folders over to it but I can't figure out the parent tags, I follow the instructions but putting in a tag doesn't add the parent tag as well when I go to import stuff. Do I need to do something extra?

Android x86. You download it as an ISO and boot it in VirtualBox or QEMU. I highly recommend using it on a Surface tablet or other 2 in 1 laptop because navigation with a mouse is a bitch. Won't work with ARM specific software, but most Android apps aren't anyways.

Hi guys, I'm learning about networks and how signals are sent along wires. I have to determine the Nyquist maximum data transfer rate for a 8000hz Modem, it is using QPSK. Is the number of Discrete levels being measured 4? As in V = 4, in -D = 2B * log2 * V.

When trying to post from mobile (safari) I get a connection error at 94%. It only seems to happen on certain boards.

When I plug my phone into my laptop via usb, it doesn't appear connected at all either on the phone or in windows (i.e. no drag-down notification, not listed in devices, etc.) However, rebooting with the phone plugged in will cause it to work normally, but if I unplug it and plug it in again it isn't detected. I had to replace my phone for a cracked screen but with the old phone (same model), I never had this problem. Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this?

Is there some kind of program similair to locate32 that will scan all my drives and put all the files in a big search able format and allow me to sort them by date created or last used BUT instead of using a search term it just shows everything on my computer.

I decided to reformat the data of a Google Sheet vertically instead of horizontally which means I had to change a few formulas. For some reason, one of the simple formulas now yields an error when I do something like =SUM(A:A), and oddly enough the formula only works when the range is no greater than 32 rows so it only shows the calculation if I do something like =SUM(A:A32). Any more rows and I get the error "Service invoked too many times in a short period" and it's been like this ever since I reformatted it yesterday.

What gives?

How detailed and identifiable is that generic internet traffic? Does it look like the traffic that would come from my own PC but instead now comes from the VPS? I had hoped that configuring a VPN on a hired VPS would at least obfuscate some of the stuff I did like downloading torrents but now it looks like there is just another hop before being linked to me.

If you try posting on with a ad blocker on the ad blocker might interfere with the posting. It only happens on adv, probably because the board has "ad" in it.

is it a whole different operating system you install on your device, similar to how window and linux are or is it more of a modification changes you android OS?

For example if you wanted to run a webserver using Python as a server side language you could write all the necessary Python code to handle sending and receiving HTML requests, or you could just download Django which has all that code already written for you.

A framework is really just a big software library. Most programs will use small bits of code written by other people. For example if you want to generate a random number you'll probably use a function someone else wrote. You'd import the "random" library and use the "random" function in it. A framework is like that except it now encompasses the entire base of your code.
