I CAN afford an iPhone X easily, in cash at the store at exactly this moment. But I am not a 16 year old ugg-wearing, Starbucks-drinking girl that wants the best Snapchat quality. I need a phone that can just sufficiently handle my needed apps - Trello, Slack, some messaging apps, some utility apps and that's about it, so I see no point in buying expensive flagships when a cheap midrange Huawei or Xiaomi can fit my needs - and more - perfectly.

I prefer value for money, even though I can afford it. I grew up poor but make good money currently. That being said, Macs don't offer me anything over windows / Linux anyways so I'll just stick with them.

One of my personal reasons is that it's like a cult especially young people get lured into, my 9 year old little sister told me yesterday that she wants to save money to buy the new iphone. I asked her why'd you do that and why an iphone? She literally said because everyone in her class has an iphone. First I redpilled her hard on this crap and then I asked her if she wouldn't want to save on a pc instead (I've teached her how to use and how to assemble them etc so she won't end up like another tech illiterate and she enjoys pc games)? She agreed and I'd even add some money so she can get a decent one

Windows has all the good proprietary software, but shit EULA and closed source, plus its architecture is terrible. And it's NSA spyware

Linux is open source, infinitely customizable, fantastic community, but shit software support.

Apple is a mediocre blend of the two. Shit software support compared to windows (better than linux), with shit EULA, horribly closed source (worse than windows), just with a fancy hood ornament and chrome finish. iCloud is retarded and forces you to pay extra.
