That's a shitty sales pitch, if anything.

So if i write exactly the opposite in a website and post a screenshot here now you will change your mind?
Weird way to create your own opinion, if you can call it own

Where do people even get viruses from these days

Not ran AV software on my windowsaxhine since the Vista days. I even disable the real-time stuff in Defender as it's annoying with zip files with thousands of files within. Never had a virus or malware. I use Chrome with unlock origin only. I regularly look at porn and download torrents yet never an issue. Wtf do people so to get infected these days?!

Fucking phone I can't type on this thing.

Ublock origin obviously

Often times it's free movie streaming sites (ie Putlocker). Reels in the normalfags like flies to shit.

That's something a company developing antivirus and anti-malware software would say

Idiots that click on every link they see and then running the exe that it gives instead of the mp3.

>Wtf do people so to get infected these days?!

They click whatever they see without giving it any thought.

My question to you guys is, what if a zero day exploit exists while browsing the web and infects you without something like Malwarebytes?
Personally I’d just run the TRON script overnight, but I wanna know if you guys do anything different.

Not even well written antivirus software can predict 0day vunlerabilities. Especially not what is easily available on the internet

They don't use an ad blocker and click on everything they see.

/thread

I remember once when I was like 12 or 14 or something I got a really nasty virus which besides slowing my computer down just fucked with me. Opened shitloads of different ads/porn ads and if you googled antivirus it just shut down the internet browser. Not to mention I couldn't run my antivirus.
I remember I went to safe mode and somehow got malwarebytes downloaded and that virus off.
Never had another problematic virus since then, I guess I woudn't even notice the random viruses nowadays which just slowly mine crypto or are spying on you.

I never recommend common sense to people.

>p-please buy our anti-virus
your days are numbered, even most normies now feel protected with only defender enabled

Pirating games and software. Every single torrent out there has a miner of some sort, yet these retards download them and run them willingly. Then they say "well, I'm not using an anti virus and I no virus notifications have poped, so that should mean that my common sense is stopping all the malware" as if it was something to be proud. The only way to avoid malware in Windows is having an antivirus + having an adblocker + having everything updated + never using anything pirated. Anything less than that means you're an idiot deluding yourself for convenience.

I'm one for those people not running antivirus, but you guys are pretty stupid to thing of viruses like the one you got in the 2000s blinking at your screen. Most viruses you get now just sit silently on your computer which is part of a botnet, or just sending informations without you realizing it.

>Claiming to possess a single iota of common sense

>the only things picked up by anti-virus are cracks for software
>all of them are false positives
Anti-virus software can fuck right off.

>Implying Linux is better
You retards had a fucking lpe in your beep ioctl
I thought open source meant it was more secure???
nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2018-0492

I had no viruses since 2006. Coincidentally, that's when I got my own PC.
Genuinely makes me think people intentionally install viruses to get attention, I refuse to believe there are people this dumb.

shitcoin miners are massive resource hogs and are very easily detectable. keep deluding yourself that all pirated software is full of compuAIDS though.

>Every single torrent has a miner
false
the only things I have pirated are word (KmsPico) adobe cc (amt lib 2) and FFXV (codex), ran a TRON script, nothing.

I pirate everything and I have never had a problem. Just find downloads by trusted members giving cracks made by trusted groups, or use private trackers (again sticking to trusted cracks). For instance, skidrow or codex have never packaged any malware as far as I'm aware.

>what is uBlock
there, prevention beats a cure

Being smart implies not to use proprietary software and common sense implies not to use untrusted sources - this is in fact a better protection than any proprietary antivirus scamware.

see
Obviously this. You're as dumb as the naive retards you're mocking. Viruses are not what they're used to be.

>le silent virus meme
Most """viruses""" you get today are cryptolocker trojans because there aren't that many critical security holes. If you somehow fucked up take a look at what's in the startup and disable it.

pfBlocker + uBlock Origin + uMatrix using a whitelist is good enough for me. I don't pirate software or dl suspicious files.

Attached: pfSense.png (7276x3220, 3.11M)

Notice how the people who defend that piracy is safe are all pirates. Almost as if they were deluding themselves for convenience or something...
>dude there are trusted groups that pirate stuff and give it out for free just because they're kind
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
>cryptolocker trojans
What exactly is a "cryptolocker trojan", and how is it different from a cryptolocker or a trojan? Is it double evil if you say two buzzwords, or it only makes you look like you know more?
>there aren't that many critical security holes
Peer reviewed sources on this claim please.
>Most """viruses""" you get today are cryptolocker trojans
Peer reviewed sources on this claim please.
>If you somehow fucked up take a look at what's in the startup and disable it.
>the winbaby thinks malware shows up in msconfig
AHAHAHAHJAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I use NetBSD on ARM and I don't run anything as root. Good luck, Pajeet.

Just use google chrome.

>he only knows about msconfig
Kek.

antivirus wont protect you from program bugs, zero days, and targeted attacks. you want to remove as many exploit vectors as you can (blocking untrusted js and ads, upgrading software regularly, firewalling)

Theres no problem with free streaming sites if you arent an autist and dont download anything

Ever since discovering facebook my dad keeps getting his laptop infected by following all the article links from the shit my uncles and aunts keep posting

Install ublock origin on his browser

>Impact: An application may be able to gain elevated privileges
This is where common sense would stop the problem

>demands 'Peer reviewed'
how to spot a cunt 101

most of what you get today is ad serving shit that inserts into websites, with a good mix of general spying that are effectively silent for a computer, people don't want their work of getting in your system spotted so the old 'lets fuck this system into the ground' shit isn't used much.

as for cryptolocker trojans, do you not know the shit that gets on your computer, encrypts everything, then tells you to pay to unencrypt? or are you just being a cunt because you wanted to be a cunt today? what am I saying, you want peer reviewed, of course you are a cunt.

Last time I've had malware on my wangblows PC was when I was pirating some old vidya while being really fucking tired. Got some annoying, but mostly harmless adware. And that was over 3 years ago. Common sense and a scriptblocker is plenty.

Shitcoin miners are really noticeable

Most anti-malware programs are actually malware in disguise.
This is also the reason most of them are closed source.

Last time I got one was from a malicious ad, was a really nasty one too.
I don't browse without adblock+NS anymore

your aunt and uncles are russian botnets, I'm sorry

the true viruses are anti virus software.
They are constantly scanning, processing, downloading, updating, blocking, etc. how can normies stand that shit. It makes your computer unusable and uninstalling it is basically impossible,

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Common Sense,
is in fact, GNU/Common Sense, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Common Sense.
Common Sense is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component
of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell
utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day,
without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU
which is widely used today is often called "Common Sense", and many of its users are
not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Common Sense, and these people are using it, but it is just a
part of the system they use. Common Sense is the kernel: the program in the system
that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run.
The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself;
it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Common Sense is
normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system
is basically GNU with Common Sense added, or GNU/Common Sense. All the so-called "Common Sense"
distributions are really distributions of GNU/Common Sense.

>run Linux
>only install packages from official repos
>security through obscurity
Winfags won't EVER know this feel.

What the fuck are they on about - anti malware and anti virus? Are viruses not malware anymore? Good to know then.

Pretty good, scanning ever exe with virustotal first before I run it works better than any one(1) antivirus/antimalware program around.

Pretty well seeing I have no viruses or malware.

can you please use terminology correctly
it's very difficult to understand what you think you're trying to say

If I find an exploit and write a virus and infect a bunch of people how is your anti virus going to protect you?

It quite literally has no way of detecting my virus.

That's why its a joke and you should just use already secure software and take extra precautions like MAC and PIE.

Who the fuck are you

timeless classic

>do my first malware scan in almost a year and a half
>0 results
>not even a registry key or anything

>There really is a Common Sense, and these people are using it
beautiful

it's also pretty stupid to think that think is spelled "thing", Raj.
