I've never thought this day would come. Is it possible to replace my 250 GB SSD with a 4 TB SSD, the 250 GB SSD has my OS and applications on it and would like to clone it exactly the same.

install gentoo on the 250GB while the 4TB is also connected and it will automatically pull all apps from the other drive and emulate the OS found there and then copy itself over to the empty 4TB drive

Yes, it is possible. You can in fact buy 4 TB SSDs, and it is simper than ever to clone your old drive contents to them. What a time to be alive.

Seek help

plug in the new ssd, make a bootable clonezilla usb and boot from it, clone to the new one, unplug the old one, badabing badaboom

would it clone the drive letters, registry too?

what do you mean letters? and yes but always back up the registry just in case, why did you edit it in the first place?

Can't remember but it was for some applications or something like that.

Drive letters like C: and D:
Would like to have everything cloned including the registry on my OS.

I know what drive letters are, do you have more than one partition on the ssd? in your pic it looks like you only have the one so there would only be one drive letter. if you are asking will it affect the other drives you have for storage, it won't

does this count as a partition? unallocated

literally all you need to do is make a bootable usb with clonezilla on it, plug in the new ssd and clone the old one to it, everything will be the same and if not you will still have the old one in case you need to fix it

I want to see the day when 4TB 2.5inch drives come

alright thanks

are you memeing? amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-75E4T0B-AM/dp/B01G844OOO

Wait, what the actual fuck?
They don't sell those on amazon.it

Can't other software clone byte for byte?

Wake me when 10TB drives (3.5 or SSD) are $100.00

I used to hoard on every single stupid thing I would download from the internet,

but then I realized that I'm never going to need this junk ever, so I delete most of it
>porn, movies, music.etc

Now, I have a bunch of usb sticks for personal backups and that's it. I can access everything I want online

>running third party software when his OS should be able to do it for him built in

>simper than ever

Yeah, I'm down to like 700GB free space on my server now. Damn this addiction to porn and films/tv shows.

Just use a live CD or something.
