Is there any reason to stop using this besides le shitty leddit userbace
and le systemd and pacman?

Aren't those enough?

The only problem is systemd. Stop using it? And switch to a brainlet distro like mint/ubuntu/debian? Nope, thanks.

I wiped my Arch install months ago for picrelated, haven't been happier since.

How's clover? I'm thinking in switch to clover from Arch.

Arch is pretty stable with new packages and easy compatibility with out of repo software.

The downside is that you need to babysit it, and sometimes updates have special instructions. Also its really time consuming to install and configure.

Arch is a great option if you don't mind the extra work, but it isn't ideal for everyone. Also only x86.

Only until one has fixed EVERYTHING wrong with Debian builds and tried every DE should one even attempt an arch install. Of course if you have a Vm you fuck around with that's cool also

I run it on like 4 boxes. I'd use regular Gentoo but I have too many machines to maintain.

>a reason to stop using it
It's one of the best package managers around, you dumb nigger.

Those wall papers are just classless user. There's a difference between anime wallpaper and straight up pornography .
Answer you me this.
What would you feel if one of those exact anime girls walked into your room and saw that picture of them on your desktop? You'd feel ashamed man.

I tried it on a VM and it's pretty smooth. Probably in a few days I will switch to Clover. Just a question, senpai, those papes comes with the distro? I didn't find them in /usr/share/backgrounds

Those anime whores need to learn their place.

get eagle bill shake and vape if you want a $15 vape, otherwise i use a MFLB with nizn batteries

weed makes me concentrate more, vaping is also a cleaner high. also feels good man

No, CloverOS is strictly default Gentoo with the exception of /etc/portage/make.conf

you get the wallpapers from chiru.no/a/booru/

>wrapless batteries
lol rip u

systemd was the only reason I stopped using it on my main machines. It was the easiest to use and most stable distro. I've had a hard time on void, guixsd, parabola openrc, etc. Whenever I'm willing to sit down and properly learn these new distros better, I'm sure it'll be fine, though.

thanks. that wooden box you have looks very comfy.

Thanks, senpai. I need to try it. Seems to be a great distro.

I peeled them off, you have to unpeel them so it'll make contact with the negative terminal ring. The current passes over a thin wire mesh, which generates the heat.

You ever try one of those desktop vaporizers with a whip? They're really fucking nice, I'd highly recommend it. Portable vapes are alright, but most of them can't hold a candle to what desktop vapes can. Plus you can quickly end up with a shit of ABV weed that you can use for edibles and shit.

looks like the hat pilgrims wear lmao

I haven't tried one. I don't really want to buy weed gear because my MFLB is flawless for me.

this is now a weed vaporizing technology discussion thread

>having chink shit porn as wallpaper.
the absolute state of weebfaggots

>brrrrrrraaaaaaaa-strummmmmmmmm

The first time I saw one I thought it was a coffee maker or something. It's great though, especially if you smoke with a lot of people and you can just set it in the middle of the room and just pass the whip. Good times.
Only got the chance to use the Launch Box once, don't think I'd want to get one though unless it goes on sale. $120 is more than I'd spend on a small vape.

I got mine for $70 on ebay

Oh then that's not too bad, guess I'll have to do a bit of looking around for some good deals.

Isn't that a hookah? Aren't vapes just portable hookahs?

You could probably classify it as a hookah, but I wouldn't say all portable vapes are hookahs. In most circles I think people use hookah for tobacco anyway.

So it's Gentoo with a different name, preloaded shit, and anime wallpapers?

Why not just download Gentoo and configure it how you want from scratch?

There's no anime wallpapers in CloverOS. It's a Gentoo image for quick deployment.

You know anime isn't real, right nerd?

how big is your resolution user? you must have microscopes for eyes

Blobs in the kernel. Bloat in the kernel. No use compiling your own kernel, because if you do that there's no point in using Arch (due to the sole merit of Arch being "muh AUR", aka I'm too lazy to write build scripts)

I'm convinced that Arch is great for machines you don't like

It's preconfigured gentoo with a binhost, so you don't have to compile everything, if you don't want .

Pacman is good, the problem is when you have to deal with the AUR.

>localhost

pacman provides a new config for the latest features, and that's bad somehow?
all you need to do is
>pacman -Syyu && pacdiff

>only x86
>Currently we have official packages optimized for the x86-64 architecture.
literally on their front page.

idk what to say.
are you guys just pretending, or was Microsoft actually right when they gave you nice colorful tiles to click on in win8.
Why not stick with that, I mean, it has colors and you can click it!

where did the AUR touch you?

The official tier-list:

Tier 1: W10 with AHK
Tier 2: Arch
Tier 3: All other Linux/GNU
Tier 4: MacOS
Tier 5: Windows without AHK

I've wanted to switch from Arch to Clover for quite a while but I'm uncertain how well it manages PCI-passthrough. Can any one share their experience?

Tried gentoo for 2 weeks, can't be fucked since it requires far more upkeep.
Even arch is getting tiring having to trudge through wiki, cli, and config files every time I want to do something new and basic.
I've written a fair amount of scripts myself, the automation and level of control with scripting is handy but now that I have landed a job and relocated once I start work my time will be at a premium.

If worse comes to worst I'll revert to a simple live distro though arch is not so bad upkeep wise. Don't give two fucks about system dicks.

I don't do an awful lot on my laptop at home anyways besides mess with spreadsheets, browse the web, and watch Chinese cartoons.
When I had the space for a desktop I would have benefited a bit from bleeding edge for certain applications, not the case now.

the name of the picture says what resolution he is using

as expected, CloverOS is for neets

i dont know, maybe their devs are lazy af and they do not separate packages?
it can be
>7680x4320
what monitor are you using?

I don't care about memes and Jow Forums's opinion.
Arch is by far the best overall distro I've ever used for general use, and unironically "just werkz" far better than the alternatives.
Arch's goal is not "minimalism". It's SIMPLICITY. It's stated on the wiki itself.
If you have at least a somewhat basic understanding of Linux, it's without a doubt the easiest distribution to use.
I wouldn't use it EVERYWHERE, of course, my main choice for servers is CentOS for example.
I don't use Gentoo or other advanced distributions simply because I don't need nor care about the additional flexibility they provide, although I can appreciate what they bring to the table for anyone interested.
