Don't know much about its details, but should be some blockchain-backed video streaming website. Seems unreal to me, whole gigs of videos could not possibly be on regular blockchains, distributed. Must be some extension of blockchain, perhaps storing only chunks of data distributed, like RAID 0 instead of RAID 1.

D.Tube , it has a familiar layout and is clearly trying to get the YouTube audience , however it deletes videos regularly , so it's kind of like a disposable YouTube , if you click on a video and it doesn't play , it's most likely gone , they are talking about adding a hiding feature to remove deleted videos from the search.

I've read on forums that Youtube hasn't been monetizing people since last year even if you have the requirements , and of course the Youtube shooter famous for getting 10 cents for 300 thousand views. And now the hacking LOL.

I wanted to be a Youtuber but it looks like that is no longer worth it. It still has the traffic though.
But if you get 10 views or 10,000 views it all equals the same nothing from Youtube.

How people find you on D.Tube I'm not sure , but it does have search and it looks like they want to add a related videos to the side like Youtube , but although it says related videos I don't see anything.

I think YouTube has realized they have a monopoly finally. They demonitized a ton of people over a controversy and no competition emerged. So why ever monetize new people to begin with? All their recent updates have been on stuff to compete with Netflix and cable. Not other video sites.

Eligible for what? They pay like five bucks of ad revenue per video unless you have ungodly numbers of viewers. Even the people that make a living on it mostly get by on donations.

Dtube uses ipfs to store videos, it uses steem blockchain only for monetization.

No , they claim to not be able to censor any video , but they appear to still have control over what actually gets seen on the site itself , they say nothing uploaded can actually be deleted , but then some videos don't play anymore.

The way I understand it currently is , you upload a video , if it doesn't get enough upvotes or views I'm not sure what's more important , it gets removed from being stored. It has to get upvotes and views to stay in playing condition.

You can store it yourself from your own computer or server apparently then it never gets removed.

Reddit has a dtube sub where a dtube programmer seems to answer questions.
It looks the part , and it does work , but it is also really weird in comparison to YouTube.
