predictions for this meme card? can it be stable at 2.5 ghz? is it finally going to be able to run gaymes in 4k@144hz? how much better is it going to be than the 1080ti?
the 1070 beats the 980ti, and it would be nice if the 1170 would give us 1080ti perf, but I don't think the shrink from 16 nm to 12nm is going to yield the same gains as going from 28nm to 16nm
thoughts?

It's going to be more expensive than a gold brick of equivalent weight.

Overpriced crap. I buy 6 1060 6gb to mine with instead

>billions of dollars of R&D
>billions of transistors, each literally three orders of magnitude smaller than a grain of sand
>billions of dollars of jewish advertisement
vs
>a brick of le ebin rare metal that some beaner dug up with a shovel
really made me think

>approximately 500 grains of sand compressed an shiet
vs
>a brick of iron someone pissed on when it was real hot
:thonk:

>4k144HZ
>1180ti is 150% faster than 1080ti
kek, keep dreaming

I need to upgrade my card. I'm currently using an i5 4690k will it be throttled?

>150% faster
didn't the 1080ti manage to run doom at like 90-100 fps? I thought even the 1080 was good for 4k@60fps

DOOM is an outlier that can do acceptable 4K on an RX480
other games are not nearly, NEARLY as optimized
>I thought even the 1080 was good for 4k@60fps
in low-end games or with settings turned down quite a lot

You can realistically expect 30% to 50% gain over Pascal, which will likely be just about enough to ensure stable 60fps at 4k in the foreseeable future. Even a 1080Ti can't do 60fps/4k in half of the recent AAA titles.
I just got a 1080Ti for 1440p/144Hz gaymen and I think I'm gonna sit the next architecture out completely.

People are saying that its gonna be at least six months before they come out please say it aint so

And when it does, none of you will be able to buy one or afford one since cryptoniggers will snatch them all up and drive them up 500 dollars over MSRP

fug
>just got a 1080ti for 1440p/144Hz
shit, I have a 1070 and I've been thinking about switching to 1440p@144hz from 1080p@120hz. I kind of just assumed gaymes would run similarly to doom, since it's a fairly recent game, but I guess I was wrong again. I might cop the 1180 when it launches, I've been thinking about getting a few to flip later anyway, I'm just not sure where crypto will be in september
cryptoniggers aren't some final boss of the internet who you can't do shit against. they just buy the card just like everyone else, just preorder like 20 and sell them a few months later if you're so sure of the price hike

When 1080ti's were 1200 dollars they were the final boss.

>shrink from 16 nm to 12nm
hahaha
check this guy out.
tsmc so called 12nm is just a refined 16nm.
they call it 12nm for marketing purposes.

>shit, I have a 1070 and I've been thinking about switching to 1440p@144hz from 1080p@120hz
I used to have a 1070 before the 1080Ti (bought it when it was cheap and sold it during the mining craze so the upgrade cost me like $150 in total) and it was decent for 1440p/144Hz, usually stayed in the 80-120fps range in new games at ultra.
I only upgraded because I wanted to stay above 100 even in poorly optimized console ports, and because extreme settings in IL-2 BoS are rather demanding on GPU.

inb4 Pascal refresh since AMD refuses to release smaller, efficient Vega on the midrange.
Looking back on it, the jump from 28nm to 14nm was not good at all. Sure, mid range die got very, very good in the 1080 and decent with Polaris, but the 1080Ti still didn't bring the good shit for high refresh VR or higher res.

The 1080Ti can do 4k@60 reasonably well, so I’d think that the 1180Ti would basically push it to 100hz territory. I doubt 144+.

>is it finally going to be able to run gaymes in 4k@144hz?
Fuck no, pure delusion. Get 2 at least if you want even a chance to get close in a few demanding games. There are games in which a current 1080Ti cannot even get 60 FPS average at 4K, you think the next Ti is going to be like 2-3x faster? No way.

might be time for an upgrade dude

why? 4690k still OC's like a champ

It'll cost a dollar per MHz, if their last card is any indication (it launched at 8999$).

I honestly don't think that GPUs are going to be a viable solution for cryptoniggers when this or the next generation inevitably releases.
