Dear Mr. President, there are too many Linux and BSD distos nowadays

Please eliminate three. I am not a crackpot.

Attached: linux-distro-logos.jpg (540x491, 69K)

Ubuntu. Fucking botnet.

arch (which also kills manjaro, antergos, etc)
rhel/fedora

Ubuntu is okay as baby's first distro.
.

Any derivative distros, however, need to die. Anything they can bring to the table, you could either do it yourself in Ubuntu or isn't worth the trouble.

These days, any new distro should ask themselves what new thing do they bring to table that other distros aren't.

>Any derivative distros, however, need to die.
>even lubuntu
Die, monster! You don't belong in this world!

BSD
Hugles bastards that bring in unnecessary politics and divide/hurt the greater FOSS community. Only 20 people at most check the ancient code.

Arch
Has autist userbase that actually does a lot of patching, would be better to have them on Debian.

Zorin
Wannabe chinks (with good intentions) that failed

>Dear Mr. President, there are too many Linux and BSD distros nowadays
You have no idea. Pic related.

Attached: linux OS inheritances.png (1098x5000, 2.71M)

Ubuntu has been superseeded by mint. Everything ubuntu does mint does it better

>give Ubuntu a different default DE
>call it a new distro

Attached: 1523701750728.jpg (362x346, 38K)

btw i use arch

Attached: shitposting.jpg (540x491, 76K)

only slack, debby and fedora should be allowed to exist

any debian derivatives including ubuntu need to be removed you mean

Nah, let's keep Ubuntu. It's basically a containment distro for annoying hipsters trying to be computer nerds. Anything to keep them from polluting my distro of choice.

>Uganda
>Any derivative distros, however, need to die
You do realize Ubantoo is a Debian derivative, right?

Xubuntu is great you faggot.

Are you so stupid that you can't even install xfce desktop from within Ubuntu?
There is no need for two degrees of derivation.

Ubuntu, Mint and Fedora.

gentoo
>disrespects stallman by calling itself "gentoo linux"
fedora
>the name speaks for itself
arch
>le hackerman

how is arch good for hacking?

Debian. Boom, done. Literally hundreds of spinoffs will be taken with it. Debian is the cancer killing Linux. It's like a mold releasing it's spores everywhere. They brought widespread acceptance of systemd, too.

As well as any other distro

Mandriva is ded (sadly) and i have no idea what Fuduntu is or does, sorry. :^)

Op, why is this so easy?

Attached: image_2018-04-16_21-28.jpg (1080x1760, 166K)

>including Ubuntu, CentOS, Puppy, Fedora, Debian, FreeBSD, Gentoo, Slackware, etc. on the pic
You're fucking retarded. Most of these are not superfluous Xubuntu crap. Hell, all of the BSD distros pictured are worth existing, even though PC-BSD was kinda pointless before they renamed it TrueOS and started making their own software.

BINGO

>xubuntu, lubuntu, other basic ubuntu metapackages are listed as separate distros

need any directions to the gas chamber, or you can get there by yourself.

>superseeded
You fucking tard

(((they))) are trying to confuse you with (((option of choice)))

it is called the three-card monte scam aka gnu/linux-distro monte scam

the spooks are haunting the house and redesigning from the interior to exterior

where is Manjaro?

Didn't even make the shortlist.

>Berkeley Software Distribution distributions

okay here i solved your problem

Attached: linux-distro-logos.png (540x491, 376K)

>even though PC-BSD was kinda pointless before they renamed it TrueOS and started making their own software.
TrueOS uses made their own desktop, another thing of which there are too many of them.

GhostBSD is the real deal if you want a desktop BSD.

Attached: GhostBSDdesktop1-600x450.png (600x450, 231K)

*distibutions

>GhostBSD
does it have xf86-video-qxl drivers?

I don't really see the point in having 2 ubuntu options, but why keep pclinux, scientific and vector?

>scientific
it's actually used
>vector
void without the autism
>pclinuxos
i forgot what this was actually. cross this off and normal ubuntu and it's fixed.

We need:
FreeBSD
OpenBSD
NetBSD
DragonflyBSD
Debian
Void
Slackware
Gentoo

Debian, Fedora, Centos

I'm genuinely ashamed to use Linux in it's current state. Just fucking let it rot

Ubuntu:
Botnet
Kubuntu:
Botnet + (((kde))) bloat
FreeBSD:
I have yet to meet a sane person using this, its fucking trannyOS

Arch, Zorin, and PinguyOS.

All 3 are unnecessary.

The only actual distro. Gentoofags buttmad because they can't compile shit without their le ez useflag interface, just fucking build shit yourself.

Attached: linux-from-1.jpg (900x506, 302K)

Maybe the same could be said about all distros.

Arch is utter fucking garbage.

arch, is literally debian for pseudo intellectuals

>I have yet to meet a sane person using this, its fucking trannyOS
Well, the kennel is the basis of the PS3, PS4 and Switch system software.

Attached: PS4-Firmware-v1.61.jpg (1024x576, 51K)

>Hugles bastards that bring in unnecessary politics and divide/hurt the greater FOSS community. Only 20 people at most check the ancient code.

The BSD license is better than the GPL.

>arguing with quads
smdh

If you kill Debian and Red Hat half this list would disappear.

Everything but OpenBSD should be culled.

>ubuntu
>kubuntu
into the trash you go

Kill them all except for Void

gentoo
arch
debian

Attached: 1523880784769.jpg (540x491, 134K)

>Puppy is Ubuntu based

Only recommended because it's a nice as a liveCD
Or would knoppix be better for that purpose?

A lot more than 3 of these don't even exist anymore

WHAT WRONG WITH UBUNTU

Attached: LjB7tl1.png (500x906, 122K)

Easy...
(.*)untu

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Attached: 1521275367096.jpg (500x375, 57K)

About a third of distros from your pic are already dead.

Anyway, I would eliminate:
Fedora and RHEL: fuck RedHat with their systemd, psssssaudio and other crap.
Ubuntu: Canonical is a shitshow company which needs to die already. I still don't understand how community could forgive these fuckers for Unity build in Amazon botnet. And now they are slowly trying to implement some new botnet again.

Eliminate these distros and you'll get rid of most modern GNU/Linux problems: bloat, inconsistentsy and normies who don't want to learn a new system and its ways but just want another Windows.

I'm terribly sorry for interjecting another moment, but what I just told you is GNU/Linux is, in fact, just Linux, or as I've just now taken to calling it, Just Linux. Linux apparently does happen to be a whole operating system unto itself and comprises a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Most computer users who run the entire Linux operating system every day already realize it. Through a peculiar turn of events, I was misled into calling the system "GNU/Linux", and until now, I was unaware that it is basically the Linux system, developed by the Linux project.

There really isn't a GNU/Linux, and I really wasn't using it; it is an extraneous misrepresentation of the system that's being used. Linux is the operating system: the entire system made useful by its included corelibs, shell utilities, and other vital system components. The kernel is already an integral part of the Linux operating system, never confined useless by itself; it functions coherently within the context of the complete Linux operating system. Linux is never used in combination with GNU accessories: the whole system is basically Linux without any GNU added, or Just Linux. All the so-called "GNU/Linux" distributions are really distributions of Linux.

Been a while since I've seen this pasta.

>my distro isn't on the list
heh too easy

picture unrelated, newest version is 8.2

ubuntu
xubuntu
kubuntu
mubuntu btfo

without ubuntu mint is dead

>Sonyggers and nintoddler soys
That's what he said

with xubuntu you don't have to deal with gnome

this

Scientific (I worked with it, we now have CentOS, redundant pos)
Fuduntu (Dead)
Pinguy OS (Dead)

All that are not derivated from other distros.

You can use all-in-one Qubes Os
>everything encrypted
>everything isolated
>splitgpg
>trusted pdf
>bulletproof vpn
>integrated whonix
>meltdown&spetcre free
>opensource
>all encrypted communications (tor,corridor etc)

knoppix is written to get your box to run
#noubuntu

anything but these are not needed

Why leave Xubuntu?

With all literal crap gone Linux could now breathe.
