Ffmpeg

But did you read the image? YouTube doesn't allow downloading videos directly from it.

>Please go use another site!
Don't worry google, we will do that soon.

youtube-dl

Then no one can watch YouTube you brainlet. The only way to even watch video is to direct download them in correct order to be able to watch them

Well that means everyone is breaking YouTube policy by watcihng their videos

I leave it open until the video ends, then I copy and rename the video file from temp folder. No need for such fancy apps.

youtube-dl -f best-video+best-audio $url

No one care about what they allow and what they don't, they're jews, it will works anyway and there is nothing they can do against that.

cracked copy of keepvid

Doesnt youtube-dl automatically download best available quality?

At least thats how I had so far.

what? this is the most retarded shit

I don't know, but this command usually download a video stream then an audio stream and but them together in a .mkv file.
I should try both and compare the codecs

Mkv you say? Can I actually force download to save in specific format?

I mean, some videos download as mp4 but some as webms with sound.

flashgot

>inb4 not compatible for meme ff version
kys

No, it means everyone who works for google is an idiot.
The people who wrote the policy are clearly idiots, but everyone else at the company have failed to point it out must be retarded as well.
You would think that a company which main product is AI would hire intelligent people.

Just google it.

This.

If you have ffmpeg it will automatically combine the best audio and video together with just youtube-dl URL

>but I want an addon
stop whinging

how did you stop cd downloads from being case sensitive?

NTFS at least on windows isn't case sensitive

jdownloader

1. I dont use FF
2. I don't use an addon to download videos, in any browser
3. Your dumb

No, it defaults to the best non-DASH setting. This is at most 720p and might even be 360p. You need to use other options if you want half-decent quality.

>to download 4k video from youtube?

>using different software for each different video format

No, it does download the best available option. But you need ffmpeg so it will combine audio and video together if they use DASH. See

Last week, I installed youtube-dl with pip and directed it (with no format flags) to download a video that goes up to 480p. It downloaded a 360p non-DASH version. Manually specifying the 480p format code (plus an appropriate audio code) did result in it correctly downloading and combining them.

Either the version in pip is old, or you've customised/configured your version to have better defaults.

1:17 video that is 130mib. will let you know what resolution it is once downloaded.

yep, it downloads video in best possible quality by default.

THis

Well I dunno what to say, because a recent version I installed definitely downloaded a 360p version by default of a video that had a 480p version available. And in the past I remember it would download 720 formats over 1080p DASH (I assume they've fixed that now).

maybe. i do have ffmpeg installed so that might be it. also, i use the latest builds of everything.

It probably has to with if ffmpeg is installed, since high quality yt videos have seperate audio and video streams, and youtube-dl uses ffmpeg to combine them

>hi, this is youtube, we tell you now where it is ok to download this video to on your computer
>it is ok to download it to your temporary folder of your preferred browser
>please don't download it to your home directory or any other directory
>also, don't create any copies and don't let people watch your computer monitor while you are logged in with your account
>this may misinform youtube with false information
>we want to know at any time what person is watching which content
>if you have friends at your home, please cover your monitor
>and ask them if they could please use their smartphone
>if you want together watch the same video
>please start the video from different devices
>both, count to 3, like one.. two.. three! and then start video at the same time
>because watching videos together is fun and brings much joy to humans
