>\g\ But we're Jow Forums Fuck off with your weak computing card.
Logan Anderson
>not understanding its backwards on purpose >just like \g\ is with their cuckphones and spyware CPUs
ARM is the future bud.
Julian Phillips
>2GB of RAM I use more than that just for the VM that runs my web browser. Besides, if you're gonna ditch x86 because of the botnet, disregarding all the million things that're more likely to get you pwned than meltdown/spectre, then ARM isn't much of an improvement. You want to either wait for RISC-V or get that Talos POWER motherboard if you can't.
Brody Wright
Nice baiting. 5\7
Brody White
how do you make a living OP?
Dominic Bell
>not even giving out the name of the product you're shilling
>needing more than 2gbs of RAM for a program that essentially processes a 5kb HTML file.
The state of computing.
Landon Ward
I unironically want to do this. Get some tiny but powerful Raspberry Pi clone, install some lightweight meme distro on it and live the minimalistic autist dream.
Jonathan Allen
Would be cool if you had a microSD on your arm desktop and could pull it out to put in a raspberry zero phone.
Maybe have it detect when its on the phone and boot with a different UI.
One can dream
Ethan Rivera
OP's board is more powerful than most computers from 10 years ago. It should do fine for most anything that's not gaming.
Jaxson Sanders
How about my 1080p Hi10P chink cartoons?
Jackson Butler
>ARM AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. STICK TO SMARTPHONES AND NINTENTODDLER HANDHELDS
Juan Barnes
>take the RISC, CISC-scum
John Peterson
It has a decoder called "H.265 [email protected] 4K60" built in, so I imagine it would do fine.
Levi Hughes
How to cluster?
Gavin Reyes
Look up distcc for a simple cluster use.
Carter Scott
But I seriously just don't give a fuck
Anthony Anderson
>spectre virus >ARM is not affected >mali being in any way libre I'm purchasing all that I can afford. Thank you pajeet for bringing this product to my attention!
Ryan Martinez
It has a decoder but no Linux drivers for it.
Caleb Green
What's the point then? What OS does have drivers for it?
Evan Morgan
Android (yes, I know Android is built on Linux core, but video decoding API is entirely different)
Brody Fisher
You'll get bored of it quick and crave bloat(features)
Matthew Richardson
Literally what do you need besides emacs and MPV?
Landon Clark
Do you really think that the most popular cpu architecture for mobile devices isn't backdoored? NSA is all over arm
Anthony Torres
vim
Adam Wright
I ironically use a raspberry pi as a second desktop. I did it when I had to fix my real desktop, and afterwards I just never removed it. It's enough to run a web browser, emacs, and shell so hey
ARM is proprietary garbage who knows what kind of backdoors are in those IP cores. RISC V is your only choice, and only one you've designed and fabbed yourself.
>Mali GPU >have to use binary blobs for GPU accel, thus pinning you to old kernels >or wait five years for Lima to be ready No fucking thanks. I'll wait for RISC boards I can stick a Radeon in.
Kevin Reed
>ARM Cucked soybois use that garbage. Alpha males do RISC-V.
Eli Thomas
>powering every phone in existence VS >shitty microcontroller for 59$ that no one uses
Alpha Males use SPARC. Beta orbiters use Risky-vee.
Blake Myers
>SPARC I have a nice IIIi thingy... too bad shit happened. rip sun, and rip sparc. >opensparc Is as hopeless as openpower >RISC-V Is where it's at. Better than any other ISA, too.
Isaac Watson
Fujitsu is doing SPARC still. FOSS SPARC also exists and is being pushed by aircraft companies.
Thomas Cruz
Yes, but it's hopeless. Not much progress either way. RISC-V is good, and it has strong momentum, with all the companies behind it.
>2gb of ram i mean that isnt a problem if you just cluster like op said. with 4 of these you'll have 8gb of ram then and its only gonna cost a little bit more than 8gb of ddr4 does on its own right now anyway
