For what purpose?

Attached: PS Communities_20180418_204052.jpg (3840x2160, 870K)

It's a differential escapement; the idea is that errors in rates might balance out between the two. It is a less sophisticated version of the true resonance watches from journe and Armin Strom.

Hi John.

Attached: IMG_20180418_160309.jpg (3456x4608, 3.57M)

He should just chuck in a fucking quartz movement and be done with it if he seeks accuracy.
This method seems overly complicated.

FFS I NEED THIS WATCH

Why does it not exist anywhere except in some NY shop apparently. I even tried to contact the shop and they just ignored me.

Hey, good point. I don't know, maybe he just didn't think of it.

I'm not surprised, that shop is super shady. If I'm free this weekend and in the area I can try to stop by and see if it's still in the window. It was a long time ago that I saw it though.

I got $2000 to spend on a used Rolex Datejust, any tips models ref I should watch out for?

Also should I insist on papers and box when buying used/vintage?

Posting Casio

Attached: Casio AQ 230 Gold.jpg (640x581, 41K)

Box and papers. A recent service record from an authorised Rolex place is good as well or as an alternative to box an papers.

I just want it so bad as it's the perfect gift for a baseball loving friend of mine.

That and mystery dials always fascinate me, even though I know how they work.

From that time go Omega or Accutron. That being said;
>spaceview
You don't /need/ to pick a Spaceview, there are other 214s that aren't Spaceviews. Same movement and cheaper.
>Spaceviews are very cool, but I don't know if I want to get into that headache.
This is 100% true, but I finally found a guy that did a great job with mine.
I was actually recommended him, but an user here who works with him.

Attached: 1524028379630.jpg (3024x5376, 3.12M)

I think it was around $150 or so. If I see it I'll let you know and you can try the store again. Worst case I guess you can paypal me and I can ship it to you.

was it the place in new jersey?

Hi user

Attached: 20180418_220211.jpg (4032x3024, 3.54M)

yep

this is great

where do you get these floaty seconds dot watches? there was also a ghost one in the last thread

STILL can't find the pic of that white dial (swatch?) with the waves and cool little croc

you that user? who works there?

Post watches with current date and time and red seconds hands

Attached: 20180419_162719.jpg (2269x2268, 1.03M)

Any big bellied dudes want a tummy rub?

They're called mystery dials. I'm guessing they don't get used as much because there's a lot more room for minor damage to jam it and stop the watch entirely.

Try the /tpg/

Red second hand check. Not wearing it right now so it's not current time though.

Good enough for me.

Nice crystal. I don't know why but I really like the distortion around the edges with domed crystals.

If your a qtgrill

I kind of dig that too but that crystal is pretty shit. I'm thinking of having it replaced.

Decide my watch purchase for 2018. I'm choosing between these three watches. Which one should I get?

Zodiac

for me, its the seiko. Depends how you use them though

Post wrist shots.

Why did you take that close up of the hands though?

You should put a flat non padded black lizard band on this

I think it would look too faggy on my wrist then.
Maybe I will try some strap once the bracelet wears down.

Are you implying it's not faggy right now?

> I think it would look too faggy on my wrist
Oh the irony.

Yes
It's a perfect sleaze-core watch on a budget.
Pair it with right things and it's golden.
Pair it with wrong hings and lack self esteem and it's faggy.

Don't post fakes.

I’m absolutely in love with this 20 micron gold plated Poljot De Luxe watch purchased from the beautiful city of Moscow. Made with acrylic infused plastic that only Capitalism can scratch, I’ve spoiled myself with this gorgeous timepiece. The 2209 movement has been crowned as the slimmest Soviet mechanical movement ever produced, completely handmade by slavs. It is also my very first manual winding only watch and it will be interesting to see if it becomes an important feature that Will depend over time. I hope you all enjoy this watch as much as I do.

do fake c60s even exist?

>20 micron
Most slav watches will have only have a 10 micron layer of go-fuck-yourself-this-is-all-you-get.

Truly an outstanding luxury timepiece, a monumental feat of хopoлoгы.

>c60

Looks neat.

Should I cop this?

Only Poljot and Rolex are capable of this.

Hi there,

The poster's watch is a very poor Seamaster "homage", us in the biz would call it a "fake". Please refrain from posting fake watches in this thread.

Thanks for your time.

What do I look for when buying shitty Russian watches?

Should I cop this instead?

ebay.co.uk/itm/NOS-vintage-super-slim-POLJOT-de-luxe-23-jewels-USSR-watch-cal-2209-new-strap/192510920640

Hi there,

Yeah nah.

Thanks for your time

Attached: IMG_20180419_184352.jpg (3968x2976, 2.21M)

that’s a redial, I suggest you research a bit, here’s a good start:

2209watchmovement.com

>tfw passing the torch

also, how accurate are your 2209s? I measured mine overnight and it’s -42spd, much better than I expected, desu

Hi,

Saying "yeah nah" does not constitute a counter argument.

Thanks.

Amphibia in sunlight time!

Yeah nah

>that strap

Attached: IMG_1197.png (640x960, 967K)

Today is the only day this month when my shitty modded 420 shows correct date since I broke date mechanism.
I wish I could get back all my money for this watch.
It reminds me of my stupidity and to always think twice before buying something.
How could I fix it's looks, besides black second hand?
What else could I get automatic on the cheap side fir daily use? Maybe it is better than fixing?

Attached: DSC_0536.jpg (3840x2160, 3.67M)

Okay, counter argument: it does more than enough to differentiate itself from pieces it is a "homage" to. It has distinctive features and several entirely different design elements. It is of high quality, haa good QC (rather than being a cheap 1:1 knockoff), rating suitable for intended use (600m) and a reliable swiss movement. It is available in several colour variants, some of which do not exist in other brands. Finally, I like it.

It's a Citizen-replica dive strap, made to the exact specifications as one made by Shichizun tokei Kabushiki-gaisha in Japan.

Only thing is it's a very tight fit and the back of the case keeps shaving off parts of the strap.

My new Luch averages -45 so far, only have it 3 days though.
What did you do?

Attached: IMG_20180419_112630__01.jpg (3375x3977, 3.81M)

ty

Are redials always a bad thing? I mean, I get that they are non-original or "fantasy", but if they are done well does it matter if you're just after a nice-ish cheap watch and don't care so much about it being original? Are they always just shittily done or something?

>I'm a butterfingered retard, not even soviet military hardware is safe from me
>it's the watches fault!

Attached: smug_cat.png (432x429, 240K)

Yes I like it, and I'd rather not foolishly spend $4-5k which can be better used for a laundry list of things other than a watch whilst I'm a young man.

And now I remember I wanted to get a black date wheel like a year ago.

Attached: amphibia_black_date.jpg (1947x1947, 341K)

Stop liking it.

This is your final warning.

redials are fine if you know that it’s a redial and like the look of it, personally I think they look a bit worse, plus they often have the red seconds hand, which looks ugly imo

Attached: 607C7F6D-0D61-4E2F-92C9-1751DF5DD98E.jpg (4032x3024, 1.66M)

Still like it

Attached: 1514227270929.png (730x800, 158K)

STOP

STOP FUCKING LIKING IT

Attached: fucckkk.gif (700x700, 143K)

I know it's my fault, you understood me wrong.
What is why it is a symbol of how stupid I am.
I know I won't get my money ever.

Take it to a watchmaker, stupid.

What, if your kid brings home an F you're going to stop feeding him too? Don't be fucking pathetic.

Messed up when tried to quick set the date.

Attached: 1449575734605.png (634x697, 115K)

Red second is original though and it looks great on Luchs.

Attached: IMG_20180419_114028__01.jpg (3073x4115, 2.85M)

true, but I don’t like it on Poljots and as far as I remember it was only original in particular Luchs, where it works

There are no more Lange catalogs left, REEEEEEEEEEEE

It doesn't fit on Poljots, no. Especially with gold cases. I really like on the Luch.

/wt/, what do you think about Vostok Europe watches?

Attached: vostokeuropestuff.jpg (800x500, 67K)

Love this watch except for the wavy pattern.
The logo is even growing on me.
