AHD is a dying tracker. It's unfortunate because it's pretty comfy.
I think what happens is people get super motivated and build something nice and then they get busy with jobs and life and they keep it running but it kinda falls apart like an old house that isn't maintained.

I don't know. There is a nice little community on the IRC. The admins I guess don't really put the effort into finding people to take over. The one guy has been half done with a new version of the software for ages, he just never finishes it.
Yeah, I think that is part of the problem. Between PTP and HDB it is kinda an extra. People use it as a stepping stone.

I use AHD for their internals only. Sometimes when there's no 1080p available on PTP I'll check there too but usually the best stuff from AHD is on PTP already and the bonus point system is just faster on PTP I think.

I think a lot of people use it as a stepping stone to "better" trackers. The internals there are very nice though. Poorly running the tracker causes lower usage, and lower usage causes less motivation to run the tracker well, and around and around. Something like that anyways.
If PTP died, it might find new life. I'm actually surprised PTP hasn't gotten shut down ,it's pretty big on the radar now.

even internals don't see much activity expected for remuxes because nobody cares about obscure shit but encodes hardly ever see 1/2 of the snatches on hdb/ptp

HDB has such an amazing library that dates back so far. When you need movies that only were in HD on TV and never got a webdl or bluray treatment it's perfect. I can't fault them for their tracker because of that. I want all that data to stay in place and not get fucked up.
rutracker.org + rutor.info and no cabal needed. You will only need a little bit more space because of extra Russian audio track. If you want to save much space, you could download 576p, which these trackers should have (much) more than cabal, and which are still watchable if your screen's not too big.
And then there are non-cabal english HD trackers like HDT and BluTopia.
And then general trackers like FL, TL, IPT have non-scene stuff.

Usually have shitty encodes, good encodes, remuxes and full discs are poorly seeded, because plebs prefer smaller size encodes.

Bibliotik is good, but not necesserally better. It's quite hard to get to and I'd say only worth it if you wanna join HDB (best HD tracker and one of the hardest to join generally; most of the content could be found elsewhere, so it'd only benefit you if you're more than just a little serious about rare HD movies). By "IRC help channel" I meant "AHD's IRC help channel", but GGn's IRC might help as well.

The new RED recruiter responds within a couple days, he's actually active on RED and doesn't get manny invite requests, so he just does them as he sees them. I've heard GGn recruiter also responds quickly, at least compared to the GGn recruiter.
Don't do what they other guy suggested of going through BiB and HDB. First, BiB->HDB takes 6 months minimum itself, and that's if you reach elite. That's extremely difficult to do on that tracker, a bit easier now that audiobooks are consistently being snatched, but still you have to upload 100 torrents and wait half a year, and then you have to wait another half a year once you get into HDB for PTP. So if you started at RED today that's 1 year 3 months it would take you to reach PTP, versus RED or GGn which has you in PTP at 6 months or 7 months, respectively.

The problem is that they lack the strict quality control that sites like AHD/HDB when it comes to their internals. I would argue that sticking strictly to Scene releases would serve you far better than scouring rutracker.

Yeah scene releases aren't bad. They don't do crazy stuff like compare multiple bluray discs then fix technical flaws on whichever one is the best. But they do encodes that are good enough for most people. If you don't care about getting into private trackers rarbg is fucking great. It's the closest thing to the private tracker experience in public. Just as good as being on IPT or something, except the shit isn't rar'd so it's less of a hassle. Not gonna lie even though I'm on private trackers I use it sometimes. I've grabbed UHD shit off there that was massive and seeded it on HDB before. I've also used it to get 720p scene rips of movies for my fiancee's family. It has it's place for sure. You can also get most of the amazon tv shit from BTN/HDB there so it's really a no brainer. I used to put their torrents of those into real-debrid, after the usually instant download I would stream it on my Fire TV box using Kodi.
