not for hunting or protecting stock from wild animals, not for guarding your home, they were literally bred specifically for the purpose of maiming the fuck out of things in the goriest way possible
for centuries they would fight to the death then the survivor would breed the most violent female then their even more violent offspring would repeat the process and so on for hundreds of generations, obviously that much selective breeding would have an effect on them.
there is a reason why pitbulls have more attacks on humans than the next 10 highest breeds combined.

we can literally see differences in certain dog breeds height, weight, body structure etc even from just 50 years ago but they wont believe hundreds of years of ultraspecific breeding can pass down certain instincts

also on the evolution of dogs body structures, go and google german shephards from 50+ years ago vs now, they literally bred them to have a crooked spine so now their back legs are all fucked and they are prone to hip injuries and also look shitter compared to the past
