>tl;dr: reddit is replacing freedom with ads, will they invade us?
Reddit was once irrelevant, then Digg (very popular back then) changed its layout. The whole Digg userbase went to Reddit as a fuck you to the moderation. Now reddit is changing its design (looks like they're removing custom CSS to force ads on every page).
Is another mass migration impossible these days? Is Reddit too big? Will people care at all? If they do, where will they go?
But most of all, is Jow Forums safe? The layout is very different and arguably more confusing to normies, they won't take the courage to approach this website, right? Some corners of reddit are already imageboard-y, but it looks like they don't care about draconian moderation and censorship, so it's safe to assume a redesign won't change their mind. R-right?
>The layout is very different and arguably more confusing to normies, they won't take the courage to approach this website That's because you fucking faggots don't know how to cruise control with it. Since we love spoonfeeding each other in here: >get an account >add a bunch of stupid reddit boards >go push Home >read the first article at the top of the list >press the left or right arrows for infinite reading
Ever since they brought this, i've been reading stupid shit for days. I only come back here for the true bants

Yes clearly a hostage

new design looks like 9gag 10 years ago kek
Liam Lopez
that was all at the same time was it not? campaign was in full swing by that time
most subs had terrible CSS, and the default is terrible
James White
fucking cringe.
Oliver Perry
Jow Forums was doomed since the gaia raids.

The reddit mobile app is literally the dark pattern gold standard. They must have hired a fuckton of people from pinterest and maybe some ex-CIA psychological experts. There is at least 100 different dialogues to try to get you to DL the mobile app. Terrible site.

Wrong. Hackers on steroids report did "us" in.
Charles Gutierrez
How tho? What's wrong with me reading shit on Jow Forums on the way home from work? Social media shit and normies, sure, but that's different to phones.
Liam Myers
they ask for feedback, tell them what you think I just explained in those forms that I don't give a shit for bad design made by a bunch of cheap undergrads with no life.
Leo Collins
>literally nothing wrong with phoneposters yeah that’s why major carriers are rangebanned in places like NYC on certain boards, other boards don’t allow ascii text on phones, etc. because phoneposters totally aren’t a problem.
Isaiah Adams
when has a website or software project ever in the history of computing ever done the following: >roll out a new UI >ask for feedback >users say "This is shit, why the fuck did you change it? do something useful with your time instead of fucking with the UI" >site/project says "Oh, dear, we had no idea, we'll go back to the old one and not try to force the new design down everyone's throat because we're invested in it and don't want to have to admit that we had a bad idea"
Matthew Johnson
No they won't invade Jow Forums for two reasons >no moderation to suppress dissent >no upboats
