This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
Please, think about your rabbit before you do something brash user, you don’t want to leave the poor fella alone, do you user? Also what is the most horological animal? Maybe a cock? It works as an alarm
What the fuck is making this noise? See where the mouse is, it's a scraping sound that fucks up timekeeping, and I can't find what parts and where are touching. Movement is an early 28800bph ETA automatic, 2790 or some shit.
Anyway so any other watchmaker anons have any idea what this could be? I don't want to take apart the movement unless the customer agrees to it (and pays it). So far it's no the regulator boot or the hairspring stud, nor an incorrect screw in the mainplate.
Pic related, it's a Mido ETA 2790 from the 70's, exactly like this one.
You need a genuine a158 and a silver or gold aq230
Oliver Perez
I like the Casios "timeless" models, but how could anyone wear this? A databank would be the maximum for me.
Maybe those have a spot with some extreme nerd collectors.
Nicholas Gray
what's the silver one at the top? i thought it was a158 but it's not
Ian Long
Kek, if you save up for a week or so it can be. Nah the a158 is objectively worse than the Skmei, that has a metal case and EL backlight. The aq230 is too much of a meme, I might pick up a vintage Seiko ana-digi if I see one at a decent price. It's a Skmei, a chink knock off of the a158 but with a metal case and EL backlight.
Yea it will be my first Solar. Solar newbie question but what is the serviceability of Solar watches/movements? Like are they more or less disposable tech or..?
Thomas King
My gf's solar so᠍yko is maybe 6 years old and running perfectly without service.
William Howard
It's 80s but in no way kino.
Blake Myers
Your anecdotal shitpost does not really answer my questions.
Ethan Diaz
Who here / 1 0 E U R O C A S I O F R O M E B A Y/?
It's not a shitpost, I'm serious. Seiko's solar is pretty durable. Can't really say about service because as I wrote, it wasn't serviced. Should probably get a check up done soon.

I’m not a filthy papist

If I have only one watch and it’s a Swatch, what’s my first watch?
Adam Hughes
The detail on the gun on the right is really tasteless.
Robert Evans
>muder appliance >tastefull
Brandon Thompson
A Swatch I guess? What kind of weird riddle is this?
Benjamin Lee
just like the watch above it
Christian Long
Bracelet or leather? I prefer the subtlety of the leather. Bracelets are pretty flashy.
Rabbits are actual retards. Chinchillas are fairly intelligent. Almost as intelligent as rats.
They're also very social.
Aaron Bell
While I'm not a fan of bracelets, Explorer looks the best on it.
Jaxson Hill
My rabbit is pretty clever. She’s potty trained and knows commands like food and to get in her cage. I’d estimate that rabbits are smarter than rats and chinchillas desu.
>son why do you have so many versions of the same watch >THERE NOT THE SAME THEY'RE DIFFERENT REEEEEEEE
Asher Ross
>Franz Sprecher conçut la contraction de Swiss (Made) Watch : « S'Watch », qui devint « Swatch ». Une première conception aurait été « Second Watch », son but étant de pousser les porteurs de montres traditionnelles à s’offrir une deuxième montre plus amusante, plus attrayante.
French wiki says that «second watch» was the first draft and it actually stands for swiss, fuck knows, desu
Anthony Ross
The bracelet is part of the explorer imho.
You can't have one without the other.
Chase Gutierrez
Tasteless how?
Luis Carter
I accept they are pretty much the same watch, I was given a watch box for Christmas and decided to fill it with cheap digitals so I'd be less likely to be tempted to fill it with watches worth 10x as much.
Nathaniel Jenkins
>rabbits are smarter than rats and chinchillas desu.
You would also be absolutely wrong.
Rats and mice can solve actual puzzles, recognize human faces, learn dozens of tricks, seek out human affection.
They are also extremely clean, which i also think it's a sign of intelligence.
Dylan Campbell
overly ornate and tacky
Brandon Hughes
Right. And this is your first time seeing engraving of any kind?
I bought an f91w and strapped it to my shower rod as a bathroom clock. I used to be someone that said why ever get an f91 when there's other cooler casios but it was hard for me to not wanna wear it. It's very sleek
The thumb nail that says he destroys a rolex is just a classless lie though
Jackson Barnes
Just shower wearing it.
Christian Robinson
Is this how I'm supposed to wear my watch??
Samuel Gonzalez
I’ve had rats before and my rabbit is much cleaner. I’m sure there’s not much in it but rabbits might be smarter than you think. Mine is free to roam so it just feels like I have a slightly retarded cat desu.
Asher Mitchell
How is an animal that reacts to being wet by dying smart
