snake oil. the only benefit of balanced amps are lower noise... balanced connectors work for mics because it has a circuit that joins the two grounds to cancel/null the noise. headphones do not have this, they are separated all the way to the source.

For instance, a balanced amplifiers each channel is driven by two amps - a positive and negative. So a balanced stereo ampflier actually contains 4 amplifiers. More circuitry, costs more money.
