get real, Apple never innovated anythings. inb4 shill fagtalk about them inventing VR: No, they didn't. Just like they didn't invent any of the other things they copied from others. Apple is good at taking others ideas and products and marketing the hell out of them, that's about it.

>releasing a product several companies have been publicly working on for the past 4+ years.

>only real difference is specs are higher end since they've waited so long to actually release it

wow, such innovation. NO ONE could have seen this happening. /s

100 Rupees have been deposited to your Google Account.

No one can even produce a VR headset with an acceptable FOV/refresh rate in the lab that runs off of extremely powerful hardware, there's no way Apple has or will manage to create an autonomous unit that's somehow superior to other commercial offerings now or in the next five to ten years.

They expect it to release in 2020, which means 2021 or 2022 realistically.

I have no reason to think we wont have 8k per eye screens by then.

And other tech will continue to advance at a relatively quick pace for at least the next few years.

It's not as if apple is saying it'll be out in a few months get ready to buy. Barely any information is out there besides AR/VR and 8k per eye.

For all you know, HTC and Oculus both have similar plans for the 2020 timeframe.

in 5 years
>Apple INVENTED VR!!!

Apple does it again.

Is Apple planing to create iReality?

2100 AD: "APPLE INVENTED REALITY"

>apple

maybe for mario gaymes

>a ad hoc VR headset

wow, so innovative. 802.11ac can easily handle the bandwidth requirements. The only thing that apple could possibly improve on is the latency

does this mean i can finally walk around the proverbial walled garden? (at least on the pre-defined paths, keep off the grass)

This photo is CRINGEY as FUCK

>100 Rupees have been deposited to your Google Account.
Because all people who can object anything about Apple are Google employees and of course they are here.

Expensive failure. Just like the HomePod and iPhone "ex"

..tions when Steve died.

It will have to use DLP and laser projectors.

Apple would never release an ergonomic embarrassment like the vive or rift.
Their version will look just like white raybans with a solid panel across the front instead of lenses. This way they can use ultra-high density micro-mirror arrays to achieve everything they want in a tiny fashionable space. It will have cameras facing outwards for AR, which will be streamed inside to glasses.

Literally screenshot this and save it as appleVR.ico

They will call it the iYES or something because they're unimaginative.

Will this one fall apart in 3.0000000000000001 years of use too?

>Apple
>Innovation
You mean , stealing ideas and selling to public as theirs?

Attached: iphone-evolution-c-2.jpg (3520x692, 802K)

Oh yeah, standing in front of a camera with your arms crossed, thats a lot of innovation right there. Really shows how you're all working hard and shit.

Capeshit memes are the worst.

I'm pretty sure you meant "stealing good ideas with very bad implementations and making them actually good".

obsessed

>t.notchdroid fan

Why would you want this? Increasing the unit cost instead of being able to drive it with a computer you already own?

I don't understand how would you combine AR and VR. AR is a transparent screen on which you project something, VR is two regular screens in front of your face. How do you make a same device do both?

>16K resolution
>Such a high resolution no apple computer will be able to run it for the next 10 years

innovating, copying ideas so old people are already sick of them...

Il will cost more than 2000€ for sure.
Macs in 2020 won't be powerful enough to display 2 8k image at a correct framerate.
Especially if they use by then their arm-based in-house processors.
also
>wireless
wifi ac will most likely won't be enough or the battery won't last long.
I seriously doubt they will be able to do a 10 years technology leap in 2 years.

>implying 8k * 8k = 16K
quality article.

>apple
>video games

pick one

>Frontier Developments have completely dropped their mac version of Elite Dangerous
And Apple going ARM based means more will follow.

this is apple, how did you forget?

irrelevent ratardroid opinion discarded

newfag

>innovation
Idk, I think I've seen this idea somewhere else man.
Also,
>wireless
I'm not strapping anything apple makes with a battery to my fucking face.

>And Apple going ARM based

Did they even go through with that? It sounded like they were just trying to twist Intel's arm for cheaper components.

apple isn't going to ARM, it's just ditching intel

Given that Intel and AMD's cross-licensing agreement makes them the only viable choice for x64 CPUs, that would limit them to AMD?

either AMD or apple shitting out a lot of money to be allowed to make their own x86 in house

You don't have to drive a display at it's native resolution you know.
Certainly you need enough raw bandwidth capacity between the GPU and the display to actually drive the thing. But as long as you meet this basic requirement you can run a 16K display on 8K or 4K just fine.

The point of having a high resolution VR screen is about eliminating screen door, not for perpetuating your "muh graphics" circlejerk.

Heh, twist intel's arm

Incidentally, Blizzard and Epic have game engines that operate at native resolution but render content at lower, even arbitrary resolutions.
So the argument of not being able to drive a display is moot in some cases.

>VR meme

INTO THE TRASH IT GOES

>16K
Buzzwords are the easiest way to detect clickbait

ah yes the legendary 16k wireless headset that will probably operate at 300kbps and will project 480p scenes on 16k monitors

sure you can call this innovation

wireless compact AR already exists for the military and wireless VR is a thing with the next htc this year. The military company even considered selling civilian but the price is too high for poorfags and even regular VR already suffers from this.

i, personally, have nothing against the shit they do as long as it makes other companies try to make their products better. i'd rather buy something other than apple.

You find a way to make the VR screens transparent, then stick a removable black plastic bar in front of the screens in front of your eyes, so it blocks out the outside world when you want to go full VR.

Seems doubtful that Intel would agree to that for less than the amount of money they're making on selling chips to Apple.

VR and AR is currently being hyped as the NEXT BIG THING in CAD.

Or perhaps the powers that big want people projecting a fake image of the world into their eyes at all times so nothing really has to be fixed and it's so much easier to lie. They'll have to get this kind of entertainment to take off before they can get people willing to permanently wear augmented reality goggles all day everyday though.

>so nothing really has to be fixed and it's so much easier to lie
There's always going to be a class of people who need to live in the real world, because the real world simply wouldn't function without them fixing the things that need to be fixed. You know, power lines, sewers, agriculture.

I wonder if Apple has any concrete goal with this. For me it feels Apple will release something like AR glasses and not a VR helmet because. VR is mostly for games and simulators, both of which Apple don't work on. There is a push for eGPU and Metal, but gaymers would rather get a windows machine because spec wise macbooks imacs lose to windows machines plus I doubt developers will really jump onto metal train and will just do old shit (dump their code on top of metal without really optimising it). Apple can be smart tho and cooperate with Valve to change this. Gabe has personal buttmad for Windows since they trying to lock out Steam (why Valve pushes Linux development) and I not even normies buy non mobile games on appstore. OS X is still Lunix in some ways, so it should't be hard for Valve to codevelop for OS X. Apple can keep Metal but work with Valve closer so Vulkan and Source 2 get a good support on OS X. In veeeery distant future their interest may clash but I don't see people buying AAA games via appstore anywhere in next 15 years or Apple making their own console so Valve should be more or less fine.

I've seen tech demos of VR being possibly useful for video editing. If VR films ever become bigger than a porn niche, the editors would need to see thier work in film, and not after spending 16+ hours rendering a 2 hour movie just to realize its blurry in one eye. The only thing that Apple is good for is their film editing software, so I could see them developing this first for film editors, then branching out to see where else they could use it if its a success.

Augmented reality will be useful for them to show, on the objects they're working with or fixing, what exactly to do. You can always turn the display of if its in your way, but in theory, once all the object tracking gets worked out, you augmented reality will be the only technology you'll need, because you'll see the whole world through it.

Why are [insert unpopular demographic or political party here] so dumb?

You know you're just going to see those lines repeated over and over and over until you at least have to act like you believe it. And it's going to be showing up on every surface you look at.

If anyone was going to make VR and AR mainstream, it's Apple. Normies love them.

okay, let me try to translate that for you
>apple comes up with a "new" innovation
aka their patent department found a way to use technology without paying the creator

alright, knowing their history in engineering, lets figure out how this will turn out
>apple sells headset
>will look very sleek and modern
>because of the visual design, they will compromise on technical issues

now that we have established that from past knowledge, lets figure out what is going to happen to those who buy into it
>reports of problems will pop up
>shills will denounce it as either troll or rare occurrences
>more reports will roll in
>apple will address the issue with an extended warranty which does not cover 90% of first adopters
>those who are eligible will get their faulty device get replaced by the exact same model

the biggest question surprisingly still is:
will apple make a profit off of this new exciting technology
and again, from past knowledge I am confident in telling you, yes they will

Attached: you don't understand mom.jpg (478x640, 111K)

This is a good strategy though. It would hurt their brand to release a product with immature technology.

>no mom they're futa jeez

Attached: nuspurdo.png (454x439, 54K)

Its not for consumers. Having it be standalone is perfect for industrial use when you just want to show off some demo of a car or building without having to build and drag around a system

Render scaling has been around for years, at last since unreal 3.

Attached: 16k.png (928x316, 38K)

16K is 15360x8640.
Apple doesn't have any hardware capable of pushing this resolution, they're lying.

i dont get the apple hate

they make solid products.. unless you are poor

2010-2015 macbook pro with upgraded ram and bootcamp for linux > your thinkpad

>they make solid products.. unless you are poor
That is not true. What's solid about having 1 million in the bank and losing your data and not being able to recover it because everythings soldered? What's solid about having devices that simply just don't work anymore in 10 years? What's solid about pollution?

Face it: You are gay.

why wouldnt i have my data backed up?

Because you're rich and careless.

>needing to be rich to buy a 1000 dollar used laptop

wew

>being on Jow Forumsay

You can't stop doing something if you never started doing it.

very true, I think this is why they are almost always late to adding new tech to their stuff (e.g. nfc)

>apple jumping on the dead meme bandwagon for the third time
What's new?

two 8k screens does not equal 16k resolution
>t. applel fan cannot into math

>i dont get the apple hate
Yeah, it's a bit ridiculous sometimes.
>they make solid products..
Sure.
>unless you are poor
Oh, you're an idiot.

The thing that annoys me is that they may make VR popular.

>hey apple's making som-
>THEY NEVER INNOVATED ANYTHING MY FAVORITE COMPANY IS THE REAL INNOVATOR THEY JUST STOLE IT [incomprehensible screeching]
can smell the stench of gutter shit piles just reading this

Are AR and VR still relevant?

>I AM SILLY
kek

What can I say? Jews lie, it's just a fact of life

>most modern hardware can't even run a desktop smoothly at 8k resolution
>apple thinks they'll make 16k work with ouya hardware
Haha, no
If this isn't a fake article, it's so far fetched that it's ridiculous

>unless you are poor
The crux of the issue, and the only reason Jow Forums NEETs hate it.
