Yea it might be a bit hard with tabs but until there's a browser that saves every web page and I can organised into topics and hashtags then I'm stuck with this.

i regularly keep twenty tabs open, many more starts to become annoying to manage, but 20 is no problem. do you have a tiny screen or poor computer specs?

But I used well more than 2 tabs on my old E6600 machine with 2GB DDR2 and Windows Vista.

I never got why people use a million tabs. I have 4 open right now and I have 16GB of RAM, so I could have like 90 open.

Closing and reopening tabs is necessary due to limitations of hardware and software. Keeping half the internet cached in RAM would be great but we don't have the ability. On the other end of the spectrum why use bookmarks when we could write things down on post-it notes and stick them under our screens? It's about convenience - because fuck it we can.
I agree 200 tabs open in a flat (non-tree) list is insane though, that's not easier for anyone to manage than some tree-system (bookmarks, tree style tabs, whatever) but thats less about bookmarks vs tabs and more about flat vs tree structuring.

When there's about 50 of them I just right click and do "close all other tabs"
Well vivaldi is just right for me. I really don't feel need for tree structure there.

Man, what kind of plebtier thread have I landed in? If we are discussing having way too many tabs, I expected at least some people being in the thousands.
I am currently sitting at 2300+ Tabs in memefox and only have 900mb of active ram usage. I mean I understand if you use some chromium shit that can't even handle 100 tabs properly, but dang guys, having like 80 tabs open is not even worth mentioning.

Before one of the recent updates I was hitting 16 on the regular after a day of uptime, it starts out at 2 but climbs over hours with the same tabset. I have no idea what on because about:memory has so much shit nested in it.

so you've just triggered a race condition where you've created multiple tabs past the 2 tab mark before this code has run
so you went 2 > 4, then it removed one to make it 3
it only runs this code on tab creation

IIRC XPI's are zip format, so you could just extract the source from them. Are web extensions the same way?

all i'm saying is that they used to have a source link on the addons site, now they don't. and while it's true that extensions are generally all readable in their packed format anyway, they aren't necessarily (they may be 'minified' with comments stripped for space, for example)

- if their in-site viewer was shit, and they didn't want to fix it, why not just make it links to the files?
- if people were clicking it by mistake instead of the big colourful 'add to firefox' button, some fucking now, why not just move it into the 'other versions' section or something? or just put it alongside the licence/contact links, which is exactly where i would expect it to be
