I was choosing parts to build a PC for both playing games and recording/mixing music. I basically need maximum single thread performance, so I was thinking of i7-8700.
This is my build on pc part picker: Tz2b8Y I put some thought into handling heat, because my current desktop is prone to overheating when I am mixing stuff, it's not uncommon for me to get BSODs if I am doong something intensive.
I am an euro, so at the moment this would come down to around €2200. Should I wait?

What would I lose by doing that? I am going to buy a new thunderbolt audio interface in the future, so I need a motherboard that will at least allow me to put an extension card while being able to handle all the other shit.
My main concern at the moment is about price predictions. Because phones aren't selling so well, and crypto is fading a bit, it may be that buying in the next few months is stupid. Also, if new stuff comes out, will these components drop in price?

Well, I would actually like to plug in the two HDDs that I have on my desktop, so two kore sata drives would probably be nice for that. But disregarding that, is everything about both models essentially the same?
