You now have an 8 port switch on your desk, 2 ports are already occupied for WAN and your desktop PC. With 6 ports available, what would you plug?

>router
>computer
>laptop dock
>two empty ports because I'm not an autist who wants to plug all the ports in his switch

My 486, Pentium 1, TASCAM multi track and my Roland V mixer.

I am literally ordering a router online as I speak.

Nothing, I throw it out and put my 24 port back in place.

You have too much time on your hands.

-Cable Router (in)
-NetGear WiFi
> Dell laptop
>Tablet
>Phone usage
-Dell Laptop #2
-Dell Optiplex >Home Entertainment sound/vision
- HP LaserJet Pro
-Samsung disc player

I think I have the exact same switch GigaBit 105 or something like that.

Funny. I got that one aswell.

Actually 3 are enough.

>buy a NIC with 4 ports
>plug 4 ports into the router
>plug 4 ports in the PC
>4x internet speed

I would plug in my monitor.

this is already my situation, and into it I plug in: >my htpc
literally just watch anime and shit from the internet/server
>my home server
(nextcloud, samba and DLNA)
>my OG XBOX
it needs network connection in order to transfer games over to the HDD
>my PS3
because faster transfer speeds downloading those initial game update files

i suppose i could plug in my TV but it plays youtube just fine so there isn't really a need, meaning I'm left with 2 free ports
