Don't reply to the fake cuck

post watches that are thinner than the citizen eco one

at least we got a non tudor non casio OP for once

Are any of those sub $1000 used now?

They were never sold to the public. The delirium I (pictured) was in the mid 4 figure range, depending on the model, and 1.98mm thick

Attached: concord delirium I.jpg (570x378, 31K)

You mean 0.98mm.

No, I don't. The Delirium IV was 0.98mm and never sold to the public. The Delirium I was 1.98mm thick.

my fucking sides

Ah, okay. Why were they never sold to the public? Just low volume that were only gifted to certain people?

Any suggestions for some non-shitter lightweight watches? I can't stand a big chunk of steel hanging on my wrist when it's hot. It seems like all lightweight watches are cheapos.

Get vintage.

Depends on what you want and how much you are willing to pay. There are tons of very light titanium watches from tudor, steinhart and seiko

They were too thin; they would be damaged by everyday wearing. The thinnest pieces I'm aware of that were actually successfully marketed were the Omega Dinosaures (1.48), although I've seen references to a Delirium II and Delirium III at 1.44mm (never seen one in the wild).
This link has some good background on the early quartz battleground, which was fought on two fronts: one was accuracy, but the other was thinness.
watchfreeks.com/115-watch-movements/9261-history-quartz-movement.html

Under $1,000. Sapphire crystal would be great, and under 40mm because I'm a wristlet.

It’s nice but I’d find it cheaper

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't pay that price.

Don't believe the memes. Don't believe the obfuscation. Don't rely solely on the opinions of others, but don't close your ears to them either. Stop looking for social validation or the blessing of watch enthusiasts for your personal interests. Don't forget to reconsider aesthetic prejudices, but think seriously on technical and horological ones. Don't waste time waiting for a watch. If you have one sitting in a drawer, bring it out, right now, and wear it in good health. Listen to it, look at it, remember why you fell in love with it the first time and why you thought you had to buy it, and not live without it.

If it was gifted to you, remember who took the time to think of you. If it was passed down to you, wear it with pride as you attempt to equal or exceed the achievements of an older wrist. If you must criticize a watch, then be precise whilst offering solutions. If you feel the need to criticize someone for buying a watch, give them the benefit of the doubt and guide them to possibly better solutions. Never forget that we all have to start from somewhere, especially in a subject as complex as horology.

Above all, never forget that you live in a time when one of the greatest challenges to plague mankind has now been utterly surpassed and perfected to an almost miraculous degree. An engineering, manufacturing, and creative marvel sits ticking on your wrist. The sum of hundreds of years of the best minds working at the most difficult problem of all....to quantify something that is just an experience. To catch and hold infinity, just for a moment.

Be thankful, be thoughtful, and for fuck's sake, if you love it on your wrist, then buy the damn thing and wear it with pride. If you look at it and smile, then isn't that all that matters?

That is all.
>yes, I'm drunk, and I don't give a fuck tonight. For the first time in a long time, I'm not worried about anything. Peace to you all, and my thanks as always.

That unironically looks alright in pics, I'd probably get one if it was $500. I'd never buy a Tag Huehuehue at the prices they ask though, fuck that.

I approve of this word filter.

The Christopher Ward C1000 chronograph has a ceramic case, not sure if they still make it. They also do a Titanium version of the C60 Trident.

Mods are asleep, post photos of your watches.

This is not a joke.

Why don't you just buy a real one if you like it so much?

You heard him, don't let him be the op and everyone will be happy.

If he just didn't fuck up the thread with his porn then he would be a nice guy. What's better than someone who are enthusiastic about his watch, posting new nice pictures of it everyday? Not much.

what is that little pointer on GS watches

I need a watch that:

>is mechanical (to satisfy my autism)
>has some way of measuring time, i.e. either a diver bezel or a chrono
>has a date function
>preferably has a crown guard but not the end of the world if not
>is somewhere around 40mm or less and not too thick as I have baby wrists

Cheap-ish suggestions? Need a watch to this spec for work.

Attached: 1517711343763.jpg (720x762, 34K)

How cheap? Skx is an obvious suggestion but you might get something a little nicer if you have bigger budget.

Also, forgot to mention, needs to be waterproof from washing hands and mild submersion and shit.

Maybe $300 or less?

The poorly placed power reserve.

Christopher Ward C60 Trident 38mm.

Vostok

Attached: 04300002.jpg (3560x2003, 721K)

I just realised that's the quartz version, the automatic version looks like this.

Attached: c60-38ada2-sokko-bo_fr.jpg (1800x1800, 264K)

Ty for suggestion.

I was interested in Vostoks because they are cheap enough, but I noticed a lot of them are way over 40mm. Also how's the finishing and general quality? If they are shit I'd rather buy something used that's already beat up rather than a new watch, as it's going to get beat up regardless.

I'd say an skx or a turtle then. You should find turtle for about $300 and it has a better movement than skx.
Amphibia is also a nice cheapo choice, lots of customization options and many case shapes to choose from. The 420 case might be nice for you if you want a small one.

I like it.

In your opinion, if someone were to start collecting watches, what kind of watches should he have in his collection. I'm thinking of certain types of watches, not brands or exact models.

Attached: Jaquet Droz Bird Repeater.jpg (1488x1986, 271K)

The ones you like.

Probably mechanical though, or what's the point?

poljot 3133 chronographs.

Casio digitals.

Obviously one should like the watches. But you don't think that there should be some kind of variation in types?

Depends, are you going to start buying dress watches if you only like divers? Just for variation? It's up to you to decide what that variation is. For some people it's like "ooo this one has a red second hand" and for others it's "ooo this one has a moonphase and is rose gold".

If you only like divers, or only like dress watches, then obviously I don't think you should buy other types. For me it's ok to have these vast variations. Many divers are stunning and I would wear them. Many dress watches are stunning and I would wear them. Many everyday watches are stunning and I would wear them. Simplistic watches, yes. Busy watches, yes. And so on. But that's just me. I like the idea of having a bit of everything as long as I like them.

A quaestion for any watch repair user ITT;
Are these stains which can be cleaned or just some kind of irreversible damage like corrosion, scratches, whatever?
Is there a way I could try to remove them? I'm ready to take the risk since I love tinkering with shitters and if I manage to save this watch it would be amazing since I fucking love it overall.

What is nicer in your opinion, blue or black dial?

Okay /wt/ I have a challenge for you. My mum wants to buy my dad a new 'dressy' watch to replace the shitty Accurist she got him years ago. The details are below.

>square or rectangular
>bracelet or deployant clasp
>quartz or solar
>sapphire crystal if possible
>budget is max £300

Go!

Replica Tudor Black Bay.

Eat shit.

Patek or Lange

Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller in 18ct gold and a diamond bezel.

Any tips on how to protect my car's paint while holding my Rolex out of the window? I'm finding that the SS band scratches the paint. I was thinking maybe one of those clear-bra skins would work but I'm not sure if putting one just on the door would make the paint colour slightly different from the wing and rear door.

>being this insecure

she didnt let you watch again?

Why do some wear their watch on their wrist bone, instead of behind the wrist bone as it should?

The lower you wear it the easier it is to spot, what's the point in buying an expensive watch if you wear it so high that people can't see it?

Attached: IMG_5288.jpg (3264x2448, 966K)

But your watch is a fake and I could buy one for one day's work.
