Why is it in every laptop thread a thinkpad owner comes in and says he dropped his laptop from 12 feet high? I have literally never dropped a laptop in my life, yet this event seems to have happened to every single Thinkpad owner at least once.

I am a thinkpad owner and this never happened to me.

I am a Thinkpad owner and never dropped it.
My wife dropped my Acer though, and the fan doesn't work properly since.

She could throw my Thinkpad though, would work just fine.

Oh boy it's one of these threads. As always, the answer is because you do fuck all and therefore accidents are less likely to happen. It's the same reason why there are so many people around with broken bones and other injuries despite it never happening to you.
