Who? I see some Microsoft man that seems to be shilling for SAAS... at least that seems where that talk is going.

Its about peddling azure and crap, isn't it?

POO

Day 1 cloud
Day 2 Windows

Paraphrasing
> you can't really control your infrastructure
Hah. Yea, he's going for shilling the cloud.

> we so focused on privacy, privacy is a human right - customers in control - privacy is preserved
Lel, give contractual guarantees then. Your OS and software currently has a shit privacy policy, gathers a lot of data and so on.

> We are working with others on privacy, it's the digital geneva convention of our times
Oh god, this analogy even... does he know what the geneva conventions are about, and why they're helpful?

Also, don't worry, that fag is coming back to asking everyone to give them their data and control over their business. Just move it to Microsoft's "AI powered" lock-in cloud, lel. We got a diverse ethics board and privacy and shit. It's just not in the contracts, right?

PS: For reference, privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/privacystatement

That's how much they care about privacy. Privacy my ass.

>Still pushng IoT refrigerators.

>Muh cloud
>Muh IoT
>Muh cloud

Fuck Satya. Build has been literally the same cloud circlejerk since 2016.

>a 12-year-old boy flying a drone
wow great tech conference microsoft

N..no they do AI AI AI! And easy AI, too.

Windows is dead. Microsoft will slowly fade away into a cloud.

Hm, it was slightly different at Build 2016:
youtube.com/watch?v=4DSNJ_WvfN4

In 2016 it was more the consumer botnet integration with Cortana, Facebook and so on, right?

Also worth re-watching to see just how many things turned out to be utter shit. Best thing I saw on re-watching is the BASH integration... but I guess I'm biased towards Linux.

> Windows is dead. Microsoft will slowly fade away into a cloud.
Even that is more something Microsoft hopes. Would be nice to have all customers in an Adobe-like SAAS lockin model.

But I don't think everyone is biting. From my limited point of view, the Amazon API compatible ecosystems (which also include the open sauce stacks and so on and 3rd party compatible, not just Amazon) where you can more easily migrate away seem to be doing better than Azure.

>you have muldible wairus

>youtube.com/watch?v=rd0Rd8w3FZ0
Holy fuck this is boring. Even gates was more enjoyable to listen to.

And yet it's informative if you want to know where Microsoft is going.

Seems like they're going for full SAAS lockin botnet while repeating "privacy" and "open" on the marketing channels.

Also you can have Cortana in every business process for corporate secrecy and privacy, right.

Not only that, Cortana + Alexa cooperation - nothing says privacy like that, right?

Jesus fucking Christ it's just a fucking marketing platform.

>using Windows for IoT
lulz, seriously retarded

You're supposed to use Azure for IoT, apparently. Not Windows.

Seems like just about everything Windows does is supposed to run on Azure, not in Windows but as some kind of service with its own web dashboard and all.
With only 100% reliance on MS specific API, you can have a IoT button that tweets "awesome" through Microsoft's SAAS platform and you even got some fairly half-assed Web UI to monitor it.

[Cue 1000 mentions of secure, open, private... none of this seems any of these, but they've obviously been instructed to make these talking points, right?]

>Microsoft MVP
Fuck, they are useless. Do they really get paid? Everytime their answers are completely unrelated to OP's problem.

yeah, I should have used "Microsoft" instead of "Windows". Microsoft wants to expand its botnet by people placing sensors everywhere. Typical big tech shenanigans.

Yea. And it's all awfully Azure specific and seems to mainly serve botnet-type data collection.

But you also constantly hear "secure, private, secure private, open" ...

This seems untrustworthy as fuck. Not that Microsoft had much trust with me anyhow, but I'm pretty convinced this is 95% vendor lock-in SAAS with no guarantees and no real privacy ( =same as before with the policy from ) going forward.

Big tech companies are more powerful than most nations. If you have a giant database with data of billions of people, you become more powerful than any nation that ever existed.

They do not get paid. They still have to pay to attend microsoft events lmao
