It is overly patented right? I wish they could sell license to someone with muscle enough to make it mainstream.
Idol trash here. What's your setup like, user?
SR-407 cost three my salaries here.
How much is amp for it?
probably like 10 salaries
good things arent for third worlders
>amp
You mean energiser unit for ear speaker?
only poor people buy expensive things
STAX SR-009
351 000=$5700
I wish I didn't look it up.
>How much is amp for it?
probably about the same amount I spend on anti depressants to keep me from ending my painful existence
any personal recommendations for headsets under 100$? With or without mic. Just looking for something that will last.
Please respond

the stax 009 are 2800 usd if you buy them in japan
rax
that's in my local wooden currency of my local shop,
Need to save life of some drowning billionaire, the only way to get those aside from robbery.
You also get 10% tax free if you actually buy them in Japan, and can buy used items as well.

Yes, apply double sided tape to the cup where it meets the underside of the pad, near the inside rim. I find this stuff works really well.

is replacing foam in hd600 with stockings any help? Feels like foam is too thick.
Too thick in what way? Too much clamp? The clamping force can be reduced.
clamp is fine with time, I mean the protective foam between driver and ear
Why would that be a problem? It's there for a reason. Removing it and replacing it with stockings will have a negative effect on the FR.
>no feet
Enjoy the cat feet today
There.

sr850 with hm5 pads are the most comfortable headphones imaginable. Prob costs like 60$.
Edifier owns Stax and all the IP.
The most obvious effect is that Stax gets spots at international trade shows and more brand awareness. While Edifier helps pay for expensive R&D ventures, I don't think any of this translates to volume shipping. I don't think they want to interfere with Stax operations, or at least not give that impression.
The best you can hope for is that Edifier lifts the IP for their own ES lineup, which seems unlikely from my view.
>sr850 with hm5 pads
what do you do when you have a small head?
Maybe get some ath mx50 that would crush normal sized heads.
im canadian
oh no
damn wish i could HEAR this
Girlish number is God tier, Idol Trash.
when is idol trash going to buy STAX?
Headphone reviewers in a nutshell.
since when does tyrone use profanity? really out of character
Yeah, that it is.
Quite tasteful and decent for 3DPD.
>when
Sometime after I leave this swamp. Other life priorities atm than new headphones.
youtube.com
Buy them
Thinking of getting M50x convince me otherwise...
Need a pair of durable headphones that are comfortable to wear over a long period of time.
Since they will be used for some semi-frequent mixing and critical listening a flat response rate is preferred.
Based on my research they seem to be the best option? Am I wrong?
garbage
Idol Trash is literally Shrek
If open headphones can't give you that room feel and closed headphones sound too narrow, why don't they just make closed headphones with giant cups and the correct material inside lining for just the right amount of sound reflection?
Because headphones are a compromise.

People, even audiophiles, prefer headphones that look good. Liking your headphones has an impact on how you think they sound.
Also who knows if it would work. If it does at some point in the next 1000 years maybe someone will make a pair.
Are ZMF as good as some people say?
They should cost more desu.
ducky
zmf + stax booths always have the most positive impressions at events. it's usually "I was disappointed except for zmf or stax"
That's a ganter.

it's always zmf or stax for best headphones
Maybe it's a game of expectations though. Stax manage to exceed even electrostatic expectations (by people who haven't experienced them before), and ZMF are basically frankensteined by a guy in a bedroom so people may simply have far lower expectations towards them than towards professional international audio brands.
>so people may simply have far lower expectations
zmf are meme status these days and hyped as much as stax are, I don't think that's the case
Does anyone else think MrSpeakers is moving forwards too quickly these days? Seven years ago the guy was selling modded T50RP from his home, five years ago he was selling T50RP drivers in newly designed cups, three years ago he already released his first self-designed planar magnetic headphones, and now after basically only two planar magnetic headphones in an open and closed design each he's moved on to his first model of electrostatic headphones. I just don't think he's allowing himself enough time solidify and refine his knowledge.
THANK YOU HEADPHONE JESUS
Well I know where he's getting the stuff for polishing the cups from.
the toothpaste he’s not using?
The hair. If he weren't using toothpaste his teeth would be far worse. He's just simply not whitening them like some SoCal fagbun.
The nose, knows
>durable
check
>comfortable
wew no
>critical listening and mixing
yikes
>am i wrong?
yes
Get a Status Audio CB-1.
you guys shilled me into getting the 009s when they come out in june
Nice just don't go full stupid by buying a stupid expensive amp
>tfw my cheap gaming headset sounds as good as my boring lifeless HD600
Thanks for the audiophile meme guys.
Give it 3 months, goy
what amp and dac should I get
God the shilling in these thread are crazy.
Topping d50 + srm-353
I tried STAX today and they made me want to kill myself. I was so bored out of my mind. I'll stick with my HD650 and bottlehead crack with speedball.
WOO WOO WOO WOO WOO WOO WOO WOO
no you didn't
598 SEs with a Focusrite Solo 2
>biocellulose drivers
Enjoy your headphones disintegrating in ten years. I'll stick to synthetic polymers that fish will choke on for centuries to come.
I prefer the way bass sounds on planars but bio is totally worth it. It hits so deep, I never heard anything like it before spending sometime with the x00ebony.
Why do you think the drivers will fail?
I'll stick to paying my butler to hum songs from memory thanks
When has anything bio ever not rotted away eventually? Mercedes-Benz had bio-something-something wiring harnesses on their cars in the '90s as an environmental measure I guess, guess what, they all rotted away within 20 years and had to be replaced with ones made from conventional plastics.
mdr-r10s are finally starting to fail, after 20 years. 10 is disingenuous bullshit like how people say you need to replace tubes every few months when it's actually every 5-10 years.
kys
20 years is bad enough for flagship headphones among the most expensive traded on the used market. Items this exclusive and expensive should work nearly indefinitely.
What kind of headphones should I be looking at if I want to appreciate music like this?
>Items this exclusive and expensive should work nearly indefinitely.
the only biodyna flagships are klipsch and zmf. zmf ones have lifetime warranty. you're just trying to stir shit up though so you'll move on to the next shit argument which is about how a lifetime warranty is only as long as the company stays in business
oh, and the th900 but the teak/ebony is better
>but the teak/ebony is better
That's what Massdrop "bargain" addicts tell themselves.
I plan to pull the trigger on these ones. I will be using them for portable games and for listening to music while I work at the office and while I exercise in the gym. Should I do it?
bose.com
Nice, what's the configuration of the amp? What tubes?
It’s Woo GES, either is or based on an old Kevin Gilmore all triode design. Fellow I bought it from managed to break a tube when packaging, ?, so he didn’t ship any tubes. He’s gonna buy another matched set and then ship em to me. Luckily I found a set of RCA 6s4a on eBay and they arrived today along with the amp. I already have a wide selection of NOS 12ax7 from my two channel set ups. I’m running Telefunken ecc83 right now. Everything seems to work, sound incredible so far.
Far as I know only RCA and GE made the 6s4/6s4a power tubes, so I hope to try out a set of GE as well.
