Best Android browser?

Best Android browser.

Attached: serveimage.png (512x512, 67K)

FLOSS Browser and Firefox

Fennec F-Droid.

Brave

Lightning is OK for most browsing. Refuses to play nice with a JavaScript heavy online radio I frequent though.

GNU/Icecat

Webm Support?

I heard it's botnet.

Try finding out the stream URL and adding it to your usual music player. I typically do that on the desktop but I wouldn't know how easy it may be on mobile.

Naked Browser.

Its not a stream, otherwise I would.
Its a bespoke web based mp3 player. There is an app but its broken and the app team is busy with real life shit.

>not Via

Maybe, since Firefox crash all the time on Android 8

Via browser.
It's the only one I know of that easily allows you to get links to embeded videos

Yuzu!

I use Chrome because I'm an adult.

Bromite is GOAT.

I just use Waterfox. It works well on Android despite still being worked on.
Literal botnet.
Is this still in development? It's been a while since I've poked at it.

Is Via open source?

This is a very important question, and the answer is no.

Only correct answers.

>no speed dial, ui buttons on top, ram hungry, 0 features
why the fuck

I can't open github using this browser. Anyone experienced this too?

Idk people claim its fast even though it's based on the same engine as every other browser

Package sizes
Lightning = 2.6MB
Waterfox = 28MB

Chrome = 58MB
while Waterfox has more features than Chrome. Correct me if I'm wrong but Chrome doesn't even have a adblock.

((x)) browser ((buzzword)) and ((buzzword))
why

Extensions are not supported by mobile Chrome, but you can always use something like DNS66 or Blockada in the background.
Helps the phone posters understand what the browser offers them.

>Ad Blocker
>Contains ads
>50 Million downloads
Why

Attached: CMbrowser.jpg (1078x626, 153K)

Waterfox user here. What's wrong with Fennec FDroid?

Holy shit.

According to F-Droid, it tracks and reports your activity.
You have to buy the premium version!

>50 million

Probably botfarms though.

>According to F-Droid, it tracks and reports your activity.
I see. Thanks.

Firefox Nightly is great.

>updates every three hours
>changelog never says what the changes were
No thanks. Ended up getting anxiety.

>open source browsers are botnets
>closed source (((naked browser))) isn't
I wonder who could be behind this post.

The reason lightning is good is it's UI. But it's UX is shit, especially it's gimmicky address bar.

Because smartphone userbase consists of dumb and tech illiterate people.

It was great before quantum got released. Now there's no benefit unless you're a developer.

Never said Naked Browser wasn't botnet desu. Just that I haven't been watching development. It's more an interest since the creator lurks Jow Forums. Fennec is most definitely botnet because of the tracking. Brave is veering that way with the ad shit.

Privacy advocate so I use Firefox Focus for anything I want to keep private and Chrome for everything I wouldn't mind a family member, co-worker, or stranger to see. I've tried them all and Chrome is #1 for a reason.

It's a tracfone and I only use the store bought cards. In the end, no matter how good you think you are, the phone is one portable botnet. But as long as it doesn't know who you are and you change phones every year or so (which you're honestly going to do anyway), then it's all good.

this.
>shit old cellphone
>tried every single browser
>most unintrusive GUI
>as debloated as possible
>comfy af gestures, and fast af
>no botnet
>it just werks

Attached: 1517980452506.jpg (559x350, 33K)

No but it works great, so I don't mind.

I'd rather use Chromium than some shady Chinese browser. I mean seriously, what the fuck? It's very possible that all your searches are being routed through some Chinese server.

this.

It has tabs like we use them everywhere else
Its light
Once you're used to it, its gestures are good and intuitive
it uses Webview so no problem displaying anything

Closed source but eh, a dev's gotta eat right? Also the code is obfuscated for the most part.

> fennec a botnet
Are you retarded

These

Thoughts on Orfox/orbot? Picture might be related....

Ninja is really lightweight and comfy to use. Oh and it's Free Software.

>needs premium for adblocking
>best anything

>Thoughts on Orfox/orbot? Picture might be related....

Fuck it no picture

But you can turn off that shit in fennec settings

>>needs premium for adblocking
>>best anything

You can download the ""premium"" version for free from f-droid.

India browser is the only right choice

chromium

>it's very possible that all your searches are being routed through some Chinese server
And the risk is...?

Lightning is buggy as hell and it crashed one me 50 too many times so I made the change to FF recently

>they are still shilling this shit in 2018
I hope they pay well

>it uses Webview so no problem displaying anything
It can't open github, just like lightning.

Works on lightning for me.

How? I can only open it when google triggers weblight, which is not often.

Attached: Screenshot_2018-05-08-20-06-21.png (480x800, 63K)

It's open source. You can compile the premium version manually. Or download it from fdroid. Don't be retarded.

What android version, webview version and lightning version are you using? It's possible that your system is outdated.

Lineageos 14, app version 4.5.1

Attached: Screenshot_20180508-074320.png (720x1280, 116K)

Chinese Government data mining. Your searches being sold to data brokers. How did you even find this website?

Waterfox

Firefox KLAR

I use Lightning and Firefox Klar as daily drivers, Lightning sometime refuses to load things or just crash, that's when I switch to Klar and it usually loads what Lightning wasn't able to, without any problems or crashes, also for pr0n is pretty good.

Straight up webview.

Lightning is pretty good, though sometimes it crashes.

Klar for me doesn't load some sites. (((Humblebundle))), for example.

Anyone for duckduckgo browser?

Attached: dax-logo.png (120x120, 10K)

Fuck no, that yid sells your search queries on his website, the fuck makes you think he isn't doing the same and worse with his browser?

THIS!!

So just tried out a bunch of free and open source Android browsers but they all seem to have some major flaw to them.

>All Firefox-based browsers (Firefox, Icecat, Fennec)
Really slow on my phone, even after Quantum update
>Lightning
The adblocker sucks
>Privacy Browser
No tabs
>F|L|OSS Browser
No adblocker
>LineageOS default browser ("Jelly")
URL bar doesn't hide after scrolling down
>Brave
Chromium-based (botnet)

You're trying too hard, lad.

>shilling ddg
How pathetic

Attached: 1503264483325.jpg (338x305, 34K)

Sad lad, if you're going to spread fake news you might as well do it with something relatively hipster like SearX. Not something 99% of Jow Forums would BTFO you over.

it loads perfectly fine for me.

Attached: Screenshot_20180508-123634.png (1080x1920, 809K)

How is it fake news? ddg sells your search queries, and it's hosted on fucking AWS of all services, you can't be seriously shilling a "privacy" company that's hosted on CIA servers or are you retarded?

So which search engine do you use, lad?

Lightning can't handle more than 10 tabs on my shit tablet. I have 100+ on the same one with Brave. What gives?

Also vertical tabs on a touch device feels weird for some reason and the fact that when you open something in a new tab it goes to that instead of opening it in the background makes it useless for porn browsing.

start page, he might be selling queries but he isn't on a VM hosted on a CIA server

>Based in Netherlands
Oh, sweetie.

As opposed to hosted in Dulles, VA? are you actually retarded or "just pretending"?

Attached: um_sneedy.jpg (285x288, 44K)

At least in Dulles, VA you won't get arrested for looking at sheep.

>I cannot into clover
>my browser choice is superior
Opinion discarded.

>unironically using Clover over something superior like Dashchan

Yandex alpha.
Literally a Russian botnet but it's the only one I know that fully supports regular desktop chrome extensions.

>playing both fields and giving your information to both American corporations and the Russian government
I didn't know anyone could stoop this low.

>implying the Dutch government is worried about my queries
user, you can keep the charade going all day, no one trusts ddg

Never mind, I completely forgot I enabled "block other content trackers" when I first installed Focus.

Unironically Brave. Fast, adblocker is pretty gud. Never saw any ads, even though Jow Forums claims it injects its own ads.

Chromium

I use Brave a lot, until I started working with Lightning again, and aside from the shitty adblocker, the performance is the best I've seen other than FF Klar

>use tor hidden service on ddg
wow difficult, now your queries aren't traced

Won't allow Tor

Yes it's just Chrome.

i want to move from chromium but holy shit why does every other browser have such a shit UI?
for example in every firefox-type browser when you're typing in the url bar it just switches the background to bookmarks window? WHY? if i wanted to open a bookmark i'd go to the bookmark fucking panel. just recently i wanted to type into google a phrase from an image and i fucking couldnt

So stick with webview then. FLOSS Browser, DuckDuckGo Browser and firefox focus work fine.

Just route your app through Orbot, you drooling autist.
Once Brave stops being retarded and adopts a blocker similar to the one Opera has, I'll consider it. Otherwise it's useless because DNS66 and Blockada exist, as well as Waterfox supporting addons (UBlock). I get that it's a resource hog at that point, but I'd rather have it work than have it not.
I've seen a lot of recommendations for FLOSS. What benefits does it have over other open source browsers?
>firefox focus
It's a bit too gimmicky.
