So? that is undergrad level school projects, and subjects that are well understood, he didn't break no new grounds, Hell even Linus's achievement wasn't so much in creating the Linux kernel more than getting a community around it.
If I had to cite anyone I'd say Fabrice Bellard, he makes shit that people thought impossible before, just look him up and what he made. Pure genius.
