OP is about Casio mods, all mods are welcome though. This thread is about the appreciation of watches, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
>pulling out your phone every single time you want to check the time makes you look like a teenager Okay, so I need a watch.
>a watch typically lasts many years, even decades Sure, so I need a "nice" and "meaningful" watch.
>the watch is going to be strapped very visibly to my body all day, becoming a part of how I present myself Right, so I shouldn't cheap out, and I should put some thought into it.
>the watch is only for casual time checks, it doesn't really need to be pinpoint accurate. I guess, so a mechanical seems to fit best.
This is the one and only legit reasoning behind buying watches for literally everyone who is gainfully employed. Anything else (cheap shitter, expensive shitter, no watch, g-shock in casual situations, ...) makes you look like an overgrown child.

Posting my horrible results doing a blank dial and negative display mod
I'm more tired of this retard spamming some whore than the fudor pajeet at this point.
Christopher Turner
OP is not windy
Jackson Hall
What is your obsession with this prepubescent boy looking whore? What does this have to do with watches?
Anthony Ramirez
I know, just trying to hurry windy up. I genuinely want to see the combo irl.

Is it possible to make a digital desk clock from retail components ?
Justin Ross
the guy posting the cam girl barely does it at all by comparison

The f91w silver edition arrived just a few minutes ago. A short review: 1. It has the good old Casio finish that we love. 2. The metal looks fucking awesome. 3. Doesn't look like a toy. 4. The foam in the box had disgusting odour. 5. The beep is loud enough. 6. Long press 24hr button says CASIo. 7. The light is fucking atrocious. Even the fake $1 black f91w that I have has 3 fucking RGB LEDs that light up in a disco -style when long pressed the light button. This piece of wonder has a shitty green light on the left side that doesn't even light up the whole display. Motherfuckers ruined the utmost pleasure that I got when I held it for the first time. Fuck!
>It's a tuna, they wear a lot smaller than they seem like. lol >Why would anyone want to wear something that is 50mm? Wtf It's meant to be a dive watch, worn over a wet suit, it's diving equipment not casual office wear
Noah Rivera
I'd be looking at it as a G-Shock alternative.
Nathaniel Davis
The diameter is legit 50mm, that's retarded unless you are literally underwater
Colton Perez
Reminder that the Casio negative display mod is a waste of time, it's unreadable in anything but bright light.
>Why not, it doesn't wear that much bigger than my SKX You can see the photo posted here right? your monitor is not broken, right?
Brayden Ward
I have this watch and it is pretty readable even in extremely low light, the power went out here last week and I could easily see the time with just one candle or some moonlight
Isaiah Green
Nice collection :)
Brayden White
lol so the digital one is 2.something mm LARGER than that monstrosity? AAHHAHAA
Kevin Harris
that looks like a volkswagon on your wrist but you have a sexy arm desu
Evan Price
I can see it on my wrist right now, looks fine to me. The lugs aren't anywhere near overhanging my wrist.
The 300m is a bit smaller than the 1000m and 600m models which are all around 50mm, it looks like the digital tuna is closer to those than to mine.
Every. Time. I. See. An. Exp I.... It may be now be my favorite watch. I may buy one today. Wholly unepected, but fuck man those are gorgeous.
Mason Gray
If you have a watch with black dial like this one, what kind of leather strap would you put on? Is black leather strap still ok with this or do you need to use brown?
Can I ask (and gorgeous collection btw, well done), which iteration of the Explorer I is that? I should want whichever you'd recommend? How large is your wrist?
Jeremiah Gray
It's a 114270, P serial number from around 2001 but I bought it used a year ago. I just tried to measure my wrist at the point where I wear my watch and got about 6 3/4".
Is this 39mm? It looks too small to be 39mm, or you have a lot wider wrists than you said earlier.
Jose Perez
>isn't /wt/ groupthink approved most of wt is comprised of seiko sycophants who will love it. I personally don't and it doesn't even fit your general taste. Those penis quartz watches are pretty nice though.
Brayden Price
Looks like 39mm instead of 36mm. Why does it look so big?
Adam Butler
Where do you buy a box like this?
Lincoln Gomez
>it doesn't even fit your general taste >telling him what fits his taste
Matthew Sanders
It's a 114270 my dudes, it's 36mm.
Amazon
Noah Baker
Badass. 2001 was the last iteration, no?
Lincoln Morgan
>36mm Then it makes more sense to me.
Isaiah Sullivan
2001 was the last year of the 14270 and first year of the 114270 if I remember right. Mine is an early 114270, later ones had the ROLEXROLEXROLEX engraving which is ugly.
Jack Mitchell
>I've got a question for those who own in-house Tudor Black Bay divers: Are they too thick (honestly)? Not necessarily "too" thick theoretically, but they handle the thickness extremely poorly, making them wear and look more like they're 17-18mm thick instead of 14.5 or whatever.
Those flanks are just flat and sheer, and take up most of the height.
Oliver Hernandez
Do any of you little nogs work at a Starbucks on La Mesa? Little twink barista named Justin had a F91 wrapped around his apron huehuehue
John Bailey
feet plz
James Smith
it's a common watch brah, we didn't invent it
Logan Baker
Is britbro here? How's the Casiotron holding up? I'm thinking of getting one myself. That or a elektronika would make a great addition to my shitter collection.
I know of a military guy who wore an F-91W in Iraq on many tours. The wrist band broke and he changed to a Timex with Indiglo, and had his head blown off by an ISIS sniper the fist time he checked the time on a night patrol.
