Buy a couple RBG LED strips and put them behind your TV/Monitors.
They're about 10€ a pop and work wonders for ambiance light.
Easily one of the best purchases I've done concerning my battlestation.

Depends on how the lighting is set up in your room.
I have a flex arm desk lamp only, aside from the ceiling light, and a window right next to the desk. So I have limited lighting options, personally I much prefer the LED backdrop light than yellow/white lamps.

I bought them at a local store, but basically any USB powered RGB LED stripe will cost around 10 to 20 bucks depending on the lenght.
I chose USB powered cause then I can have them linked to the PC and only have them on when I want them to.

That was back in 2009 when they added a balcony to my living room, i had to empty the whole room but had no place to have a computer desk during daytime and it was dusty and dirty as fuck in there.
So i went for this solution where i just used my 17" HP Pavillion ZD 8000 series laptop and installed this every evening when the workers left the apartment. I think it was the last day and they were finished.
I had a computer administration job which i worked at from home. So i had to have a working desk every evening.

An Asus motherboard with 939 socket, an AMD Athlon 3000+ Winchester core CPU with 1800Mhz with a Scythe Ninja Rev.B cooled passively, A several Maxtor and Samsung drives of different sizes and a 7800GTX nVidia Geforce GPU with 256mb and GDDR4 2GB ram
Monitor is a Samsung 930BF 19" TN panel (which i still have. The system was running Windows XP pro 32bit.
Worked well for me.
The black case had the the same CPU but an MSI mainboard, 2GB of ram and an old ATI Radeon 9800pro running Win XP pro 32 bit and dual booted Suse linux and later a Kubuntu version.
That was my workstation for administration stuff and shit.

I use and have used all of them at some point and i still live a happy life.

I personally dislike Win10 totally. But if someone likes it and seems to be happy with it i am fine with it. There is no reason to call someone idiot just because he has a different taste or way of using stuff.
I use my iMac with both OS X and Win7 Ultimate 64bit and it works well. The iMac is totally silent, the screen is superb, and it spares me from an additional PC case that only occupies space.
For me who is only playing my old Battlefield 2 game a perfect solution. Watching TV-series and movies on it is a joy.
If someone does not like Apples shit, he/she is not forced to buy it.
My iMac never crashed, never failed for me and runs super stable. I have no reason to shit on it. And i have had it since 2015 and bought it at a sale out day for a cheap.

preach! i got a few different computers around here in my place - i got a 10 year old HP Pavillion laptop i use for Win7-32 bit shit (got an old GameBridge i use to do VHS transfers for people for extra cash, and other stuff that needs an older OS), and i have a Win10 gaming PC (older Core2Quad, not one for using VMs n shit, this thing is STRICTLY for gaming, so its got a stripped down OS on it), as well as a Win10 Workstation, simply because i use Vegas to produce content for a local radio station's Video Exclusives for their social media accounts, but it has a CompactFlash card slot that i have a dedicated/persistant install of Xenial Puppy Linux on for when i need to go full neckbeard on. As well, i have an older E1-1500 APU-based Lenovo running elementaryOS for my go-to laptop to lug around with me when i travel or doing other stuff that requires Linux on a Debian/Ubuntu-ish platform, and i personally like the look and feel of eOS, as i have clutter around me physically (i own ) but i prefer my digital stuff to be nearly anal in it's order).

The Pavillion was and still is a great Laptop. But a heavy one i can say!!!
I still have the old Samsung monitor and an additional 21" 1080p monitor and the Thermaltake Case and consider to build some linux machine with the stuff.
