Almost a year later, whats your opinion on the RX Vega? I got mine free so take my opinion with a grain of salt but i love it, takes a bit of tinkering but im okay with that

When is nvidia releasing the 1180?

end of the year possibly early 2019

Same thing as Fury, except now people actually want it because of muh mining.

Its shit. Why?
>Costs about the same as a 1080 Ti
>No custom cards

The performance could be worse, but it only competes a 1080 at a higher power draw. Currently I think the RX Frontier is the better choice, 16 GB and doesn't cost much more.
>If you find one on stock

They were around 1000 € once.

I wish AMD would deliver a high-end fuckcard that rapes my 1080 Ti.
Some say June/July some say autumn
No, Vega improved, Fury was shit mainly because no OC headroom and 4 GB
While the 980 Ti allowed 50 % OCs (From stock)
I would buy a small RX for my HTPC if they werent so expensive
>RIP those times when you could buy a RX470 new for 180 €

$500 msrp vs $700 msrp
>b-but the jewmazon prices say it's $1000
Well, that's because this beast of a card gets 2000h/s on cryptonight

Dumb niggerfaggot

Useless. Buy a 1080.

The very first three posts are from shintelkikes, lmao. That's a picture of vega, not your shintel housefire locked cpu.

Don't tell me something I already know.
This. Still overpriced, but if you need a GPU now the 1080s are 700 €.

Got an AIB Vega 64 for ~$700. Works perfectly good for gaming, rendering, and yes, mining. I don't like using GeForce, so it's really the best option for me at the moment.

56 is alright, 64 is garbage, liquid 64 is a fucking joke

This post gave me cancer, ty

been using a Vega 64 for 7 months and I'm happy with it

Attached: 202008290.jpg (1280x720, 346K)

I kinda regret having a GTX 1070 it only does 630 Hashes without overclocking
only good for games.

I'd rather have vega 56 at least it can mine AND play games.

I considered grabbing a Vega64 but they're too fucking expensive. They still haven't come down near MSRP.

I'd be using one now if I was able to get one at something close to MSRP.
>but muh 1080 is better
Fuck off, I refuse to give those Nvidia shitheads money.

>64 is garbage
It beats the 1080. I don't see how that's garbage.

>pointing upwards
The fuck kind of case is that? That's awesome.

When AMD releases a product that can actually compete with the 1080.

They'd have to be below MSRP to be worth buying.

this post was posted by a shintel falseflagging as a retarded amdrone

What a nice looking card. Shame about the disappointing performance.

Fastest Freesync solution at the moment. It is only way to game at 4Megapixels with 120FPS+ on the AMD RTG side.

It is a beast at general compute and you have to pay through the nose to get similar and better general compute performance on Nvidia side.

The only people who were disappointed by it are retarded fanboys who thought it would be a 1080Ti killer.

Don't get 1080 and 1070 at their current prices (Way more than launch price). Nvidia is about to launch its next generation customer-tier SKUs.

Wait until they launch. The 1080 and 1070 will fall back into their rightful prices ($299-349).

Vega 56 (with some tweaking) and 64 are faster than 1080 and 1070Ti.

1080 is already discontinued (GDDR5X is too expensive for the bottom line) and 1070Ti is its "stealth replacement".

You are just spoiled by previous generation of GPUs.

The days of rapid bumps in performance in GPU performance has been over since GCN 1.0 and Kepler.

Pascal wasn't really that much of a bump over Maxwell. Neither was GCN 1.2 was that much of a bump over GCN 1.0.

A turd

I want this, please link me a way to buy it

Are you the guy who was drunk and bought a smaller case?

It's old tho
I'm not

its because you know anything about technology to begin with
tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-radeon-vega-frontier-edition-16gb,5128-6.html

oh wait we dont talk about how the primitives are enabled eh

i've been more than happy with my vega 56. my only complaints is that i wish amd released an entire vega lineup out when nvidia released pascal rather just releasing low-midrange only polaris, third party designs at release, amd needs more stock, and stock selling at msrp. i'm thrilled i was able to pick mine up in november 2017 on newegg for actual msrp but that was like the last time i ever saw it at msrp. utterly ridiculous. though not amd's problem anymore in that regard. nvidia is now hit by the memecoin fad. low stock now and when in stock stupidly overpriced. like this 1070 on amazon for $509.99

lol wut.

Fuck off

you're a literal retard

Can you elaborate

2 years late, effecient like Maxwell only, big chip, expensive hbm, 1070 to 1080 performance.

Even AIBs don't custum the card, they are rare af.

Vega 11 is now somewhere between GP102 and GP104 in terms of gaming performance.

> whats your opinion on the RX Vega?
Wanted to buy it, but right now:
64 is outperformed by 1080Ti in games
56 is outperformed by 1070TI in games
Vegas are still better in bruteforcing hashes, if that's something you're gonna do. Right now it is the only AMD product more powerful than RX 580, I dunno if this is a selling point for you.

Which rog strix to get to replace a 7850 with lads

Well if you don't see it then there's no helping you.
t. R9 280x owner waiting for the fucking gpu price drop

fpbp

vega is still overpriced and out of stock

I paid 430 and sold my 1070 for 650 €
It was nice to get my 1080 Ti paid by greedy miners

No, it match with the GP104

Just wait for it, it will age like finewine and it will BTFO the jews.

Still a joke.

Wonderful card. Its a premium product that allows full control over clock behaviour, voltage, and power limits so of course its more expensive than the comparable nvidia card.
Wish I had one.

Mid 2019

Why would I ever use Amd?

>Jow Forums: It's a failure because it doesn't play my games better than Nvidia!

>reality: it's a crushing success for AMD, sold out everywhere and demand is sky high due to how godly it is for other tasks

is fine

>t. vega 64 strix user

Nvidia tards can't accept reality

Fanboy

>check price of vega 56 at my usual place
>it's more expensive than a 1080

Attached: 1413857155816.jpg (320x323, 8K)

Can you elaborate pls

The stock was fucking low...amd lose money with this huge chip

Vega 11 is already faster then GP104, but it a lot less energy efficient.

Freesync and/or want good general compute performance on the cheap.

Nvidia gimps the shit out of their gaming-tier at general compute.

>Have 3 144hz Freesync Samshit monitors(one 1440p, two 1080p)

>No AMD Card able to push 144hz frames at 1440p (Witcher 3, GTA, Forza7)

when are we getting a new generation of gpus? my 690 is dying but i dont want to buy 2 year old tech for launch price

Mid 2019 at earliest.

if all the bottlenecks were alleviated, it would have been, im honestly interested in knowing what went wrong with vega in that regard, as it performs about on par with a clocked up fury.

fuck knows we will never find out.

at msrp, offered better performance then nvidia at 56 price point, offered about the same at 64 if you knew how to undervolt overclock, but due to bottlenecks, rarely was the 64 ever good at its price due to the 56 matching its performance for cheaper.

change your paste

Since no one on the planet can get these at anywhere near MSRP, nor are they ever in stock

Id say its a great success for the gtx1070/80

Wonder how the current RX and 10 series cards will age? For almost the last decade GeForce cards have typically outperformed Radeon cards on release, but the Radeon cards have typically aged better with modern games.
I still regret buying a GTX680 over a 7970.

Vega is ROP-limited. That's why it performs like a sup-up Fury (more clockspeed/more memory) in the worst-case.

where do primitive shaders and tile based rasterization fit into this, is that part of the rop as I know these were two areas they tried to alleviate bottlenecks among something like 104 or something they said they did.
