How do I convince my boss to buy me this chair?
I have one of those GT-Omega racing chairs literally the one in the picture but different brand, and it's so trash wasted about $400 on it and extremely regret it. A $20 Walmart chair is more comfy than this crap don't waste your money.
You should instead convince your boss to buy you good chair.
are there any chairs that are good for your posture
I wanna waste my boss' money. How is this such a bad chair though? With adjustable arm height, lumbar support, surely any discomfort would be the fault of the user having not properly adjusted the chair.
It has straps, mate. The back support will slip out of position all the time. Besies it looks trashy as fuck. Buy something with a little more style for the office
Check if it's made of real leather or the cheap shitty synthetic crap.
But all my favorite utubers use those chairs so they must be good!
Seriously though, if someone wants one of those chairs just upload a gaming video to youtube. Guru larry delivers those chairs minutes after commenting on your video seconds after you finish uploading.
>not paying $399
some ikea one
like 70 dollars
2 years
i mean it works
What a stupid and ugly looking chair.
Not OP, but how to choose a decent chair for everyday use? Basically switching between programming and gaming?
>what chair do you own?
Tectake cheap office chair
>how much did it cost?
~80 €
>how long have you had it?
2 years
>are you happy with it?
I would say yes, it wasn't very expensive buit wears off
I ordered a new one for 300 €. I hope it doesn't wear off so quick.
These "racer" chairs don't seem very comfortable, I wonder why people buy them.
Because you need a bucket seat when you go 100mph on those corners in front of your desk.
I have an AK Racing gaming chair.
I'm 1.98m and I weigh 110kg, so I needed something that would fit at least the average gamer's weight.
Turned out that the racing chair meme fucking sucks though. I squat 4 plate, consequently I have THICC thighs and the chair is way too narrow.
My wife stumbled upon socks in EU size 48-50 today so she bought me 10 pairs, last time I could find socks that fit me at a store was a year ago....
>check your height privilege
recliner
no computer chair is good. they're all completely worthless
Own a BTec 820. It's actually made for 24/7 office use. The thing is built like a tank and has held up for years. Would never got back to those cheap Staples chairs and their poorly welded wheel bases.
>110 KG
>Average gamer
At least you are very tall, so I'm not even sure if overweight.
>TFW 59 KG
Keyboard support master race
You need youtube money to afford that. $399 my ass Pewdiepie what are you doing off /b/?
Looks awful to deal with. You have a desk for a reason.
Found this in my grandma's house. It was produced in East Germany in 80's. Surprisingly, it's still intact, nice and comfy.
Markus from ikea, simple and comfortable. I've tried more expensive meme chairs but they're always trash to actually sit in for long periods.
Good chair ergonomics is honestly not that complicated, all this racer bullshit is just soiboi marketing.
Unironically considering this, how autistic would this be?
$100 from ikea
comfy, would buy again
Are you going to open a barbershop?
steelcase gesture or HM Embody are only work chairs worth investing in
come at me faggots
Very, also it's probably got plywood in the back and seat and once the foam wears down you'll feel it.
>Kinnarps 6000, no armrests
>Got it for free, retails for around 750 EUR
>A few months
>Very, it's incredibly comfortable
Herman miller aeron. P nice
bump because ergonomics are important
any mexifriend here? should i put the trigger on Lopez Morton stuff, whats your country most similar to these?
lopezmorton.com.mx
$99 off ebay, leans to the left but otherwise no serious issues
>steelcase leap v2
>350 AUD (used)
>6 months
>sorta
It's definitely comfortable, but it doesn't quite allow me to sit in the position that I want to at my desk. The upper part of the back feels too reclined. The height (at max lift) is also slightly too low for my 75cm height desk, so the desk feels a little too high. I wonder if it's just the gas lift being old and worn or if that's just the height the chair was designed for.
Chairs are technically wrong
A Herman Miller Aeron will outright punish you for having bad posture. I've heard them described as murder on your back if your posture isn't good.
Your feet should rest firmly on the ground without shoes. If the table is still too high at that point then it's the table's fault.
They do.
But 75cm is supposed to be the standard desk height. Should I look into something more like 70cm instead?
>people spend $200 - $400 on non-adjustable/"adjustable" chairs
Find a lightly used chair with at least lumbar adjustment. Like most gaming keyboards and mice, they try and use superior mechanisms, but most importantly they aren't built to last and have shit warranties. Try to find a chair made by a company that isn't cashing in on the loose wallets of gamers. See if you can find a SteelCase or Herman Miller chair for around $300 or less in nice condition. Racer chairs are the Beats of office chairs.
all gaming chairs are shit. all of them
its actually a decent chair, but the padding in my leather ones seat cushion is kinda worn
embody master race reporting in. best $2k i ever spent its so good you cant even jerk off in it because you dont feel you are sitting on anything
Nah, they're fine. I just don't like how narrow the seat can be. I regularly lean back and lounge in them in meetings. The Knoll Generation I have is much more annoying about posture, it's only comfortable in a couple of ways to sit in.
Good value chair. Wonder if it is worth to upgrade to Aeron or similar more expensive chair? Or those are just memes?
recommend a chair for 173cm 75kg manlet
no I mean gaming chair, I'm already using pic related, not comfortable.
>some serta massage chair that apparently doesn't exist on the internet (only 1 image of it appears on image search
>idk, received it as a gift (probably 200$)
>about 1.5 years
>the back rest is too low, so I had to buy a pillow as a head rest so my neck doesn't hurt
my bro has something similar to OP's pic related and I honestly wish I had that instead
fell for the "gaymen racing chair" meme, never again
got this one used for half the price, best purchase i made
Im using a used office chair that came with the house im renting.
Im tall so my shoulders are at the place the head is supposed to go.
Will this fuck my posture?
At work I used both aeron and this one. Aeron is great, but I like tall headrest and simplicy
It's like you all buy these showoffy chairs just to be extra uncomfy!
A bed, computer desk and counter with a sink within 2 meters? What's the size of your place? Do you at least have a bathroom?
are you me?
I got the same one, but with armrests.
It was free second-hand, when my office shut down in april. Love the chair tho
Honestly the whole anti-gaymin chair thing probably has some truth to it but I'm doing pretty good with mine. Plus it's the only chair that fits my 6'4" 280 lb ass, just need a monitor stand that goes even higher than the one I have now to accommodate my height
I bought a dxracer that's pretty plain looking and it's more comfortable than any chair I've used at a desk. It's about being ergonomic and supporting your back when you sit for long periods of time.
racing chair wasn't a meme for me
bought one on craigslist for $100
has a high quality metal angle adjustment locking mechanism.
that mechanism is the first thing to fail on every office chair I've bought under $400. Doesn't matter how fancy or executive or plush the chair is, it's completely useless if that mechanism fails. It makes it so there is 0 tension when you lean back making the chair unusable.
driftgaming.eu
I bought this one for €170. It's a perfect fit for me and comfy as fuck. Helped a lot with my bad posture once I found the sweet point. I didn't get one of the "leather" models because they are awful during summer.
>sweet spot
Oh, and I bought it six months ago.
It's much more forgiving than a lot of "ergo" chairs. You cant be a total bannana, but it's not like you're shoulders back, pelvis up the whole day.
All that bolstering is meant to keep you in place while cornering in a car. No idea why someone thought a poorly padded back brace would make a good office chair. Racing buckets aren't even comfortable in cars.
Try explaining to your boss that you need this instead. A friend of mine has it and she says it's great and comes with lifetime warranty.
What is it about the leap that supposedly makes it so much more comfortable for long hours vs. a normal office chair? It looks identical to any generic one you'd find at staples. Does it use some sort of space-age gel for the seat?
>She
>tfw too poor for a herman miller chair
it hurts
I got my Aeron off eBay new for $350. Save up a little. It's worth it for something you spend a lot of time in.
I bought a set of these. Broke two already because I'm a fat ass.
I got one of these. It's pretty good.
What is the most autistic chair in existence?
By "autistic chair" I mean it's halfway between a chair and bondage because autists are serious claustrophiliacs.
Eames Soft Pad
Chairs are important guyz.
Based on the rudimentary research that I've done this is a very good "gaming" chair. It's called the Secretlab Titan and it's $400.
based
There is not a single chair with wheels that is good and you literally cannot prove otherwise.
Stationary chairs are the only thing you should consider.
LOL dude just sit in it. Are you sitting with your legs crossed?
why is it better for gaming than let's say internet browsing or photo editing?
Because if you're playing a racing game you'll go VROOM VROOM and lean from side to side and fall out of the chair otherwise.
the only thing i can come up with is that you're more likely to sweat while playing an intense video game. i remember i used to sweat during competitive counter strike all the time. for that, i'd want something like this so that my back doesn't get all clampy
What about your arse? Mesh is where it's at big boi.
could this be the future of gaming chairs?
Any high back racing style chair is going to be marketed as gaming regardless of the actual application. I don't really have an answer for you. It's just a quality chair of a specific design.
If you don’t buy your chairs direct from an office supplier specialising in ergonomically safe chairs you’re doing it completely wrong
