With low power yet same performance CPUs becoming more common, we're going to start seeing a lot of dual CPU boards.

Ayy but I use it though and I actually like it.

Enjoy your overpriced 10 pound laptop winfag.

>8350 not 6350
Fail.

Well the way I like to use the chip sometimes is in the one core per CU mode sometimes, and that will give you 4 cores with good IPC, not 3 like the FX63XX would give.

>used the same word twice in a sentence
Man I am fucked up right now.

neat, i had one too

Deja vu!

extrapolating the results ends up with that
1.7Ghz 3317U being as fast as a 4.4Ghz 8350
in single threaded work loads, considering Intel HT is shit

wew

Whats your single thread?

My single thread was 106, it's normally 89 at 4.4 with all 8 cores processing (19% faster per clock), it's faster overall with eight, but when using old software, I like to force it to have 4 cores with lots of cache and full FPU.

wtf where's the isa slot??

But dwarf fortress is a great game

I agree, go buy dwarf fortress right now.

that cpu alone was 1,031$ and the best of the best back in the day.

...

how is that even possible

I'm using this daily :-)

Scrolling is cool as fuck, like big jog dial.

>thinks piledriver is bulldozer
Hmm...

I can head the coil whine from here

not him but it is
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_microprocessors#Bulldozer_Architecture_(Bulldozer,_Piledriver,_Steamroller,_Excavator)
same thing with intel, it's why everything has had the same ipc since skylake

Now that ryzen is out and pretty good, can we finally admit bulldozer was a mistake?

fuck i loved the 7800gtx

No, instead people use the fine wine meme and claim that bulldozer is good now in 2018 since more apllications are multithreaded now.

Still better than a Thinkpad nipple mouse.

While i5s have gone to dogshit land this has actually also made the old 2600k a lot better too.

That's a cool looking mb, also these RAM slots are so R A D I C A L

Those 06 FX's were great until the conroe's came out and decimated them.

Besides being ugly, it was a massive price for those specs. In 2006 you could build a more powerful desktop, E6700, 2GB RAM, 600GB HDD for

the static pressure mist be amazing but those 4mm screamer fans sound like a jet engine

>get 2 cpus
>each cpu has lane allowance
>get double the amount of ram
>still stuck with the same bullshit amount of pci slots as a normal computer
>fuckall for IO
why do you fags do this?

asll
>mangled cpu fan pins

The owner probably suffers from severe depression and, judging the by colour, a nicotine addiction.

Why do/did Japtops use circular trackpads?

not even joking

well that sucks. dual screen laptops have a whole lot of potential for those who can afford it

Attached: thinkpad w701ds.jpg (1600x1380, 334K)

Like some other user said it was probably for the edge scrolling. You can just go in circles and scroll forevermore. Other than that I see no practical reason at all.

Love the bent pins on the fan header on the very right.

bent pins are a design feature on some boards

I know, for random distribution of the air. Who wants a straight line airflow? I want my fan to cool the entire case!
