Multiple monitors are a symptom of bad window management skills and ADHD.

0/10 bait for the hundredth time.
Nah, it's just a sign that i have a job in a tech field while you are just a poor NEET.
Hey fuck you I may be a NEET but I'm not poor ok? My mom buys me whatever I want for my PC.
warosu.org
Quality thread.
Whichever takes up less desk space is okay.
is he using emacs? or vim?
Notepad++ in Wine in OSX in a VM in Ubuntu
You can literally see 3 more monitors in the reflection. What is your point?
That book... Neuroevolution Through Erlang?
Lol I've seen this classic bait while king nigger was still in the presidency
Emacs, vim is only used by brainlets who never amount to anything.
cringe
Emacs logo on sidebar, sooo
2 monitors is ok
>I can call anything cringe!
cringe
thanks for the book user
Is 2560x1080 too little for a 34inch UW? I'm poor and can't affort a 3440x1440 one
cringe
You should just kill yourself if you can't afford 1440p
they're separate workstations actually
>ultrashort
FTFY
>Have ADHD
>Have 3 monitors
Literally who cares
>that horrible red on black theme
I know the guy is a genius, but come the fuck on.
I actually agree with OPs bait. Modern operating systems have enough window management hotkeys and functions making multi monitor setups for unfocused typelets. Learn your fucking hot keys and focus on the matters at hand.
You sound like a macfag.
>One screen!
>Hotkeys!
>Just buy 2 to multitask!
>Just buy 2 screens to multitask
>using linux
>dressed like a college student
>in a professional environment
>that reflection
BUT WHO WAS CAMERA??!?
No retard, 2 computers.
Just as retarded as buying 2 monitors.
Learn to manage windows, train your short-term memory and focus.
I used to have 2 monitors, it was pretty useful but i was always worried about the extra power consumption since most of the time i was only using 1 screen and the other one just sat there
(you)
you don't need to convince other people just because you can't afford extra monitors, I have 3 monitors and I fucking love it
I absolutely agree this
linux a tiled wm does the job
windows dexpot or some other app
>be me
>work as embedded sw dev
>use 1 monitor for 2 years
>get second monitor
>realize I didn't need it in the first place
>2 monitors
>design clusterfuck programming language
i have 2 at work but whenever i actually work instead of doing nonproductive bullshit like looking at the next 10 pointless meetings scheduled i'm focused on one.
are you a retard?
He was even looking at them while the picture was taken.
Is it always the same user replying with this pic? I can now only imagine with a our own photographer for cringe gallery here.
Do those split keyboards come with mechanical switches?
>genius
>great paying job
>he could work in just t-shirt if he wanted
Your point? In my current job is like that, we can wear whatever the fuck we want, sales people need to be presentable.
Also I can have break whenever I want, I can eat or drink while working. And that's me, fucking nobody.
This guy can go to toilet and smear his name in shit. And nobody would fire him
that's a 4K monitor right?
Looks like 16:10 aspect ratio so probably not. Probably one of those 2560x1600 or 1920x1200 ones that were all the rage with programmers before 16:9 took over everything. Gnome DPI scaling sucks anyway, so it's a mercy.
Thanks for your input, but you're a fucking nerd for knowing all that.
Honestly, a lot of the "more is better" trends are bad signs. I'll never understand the desire to have 100+ tabs open -- I've pushed 20 a few times, due to doing research projects, but regularly having more than 50+ tabs is just absurdity.
Users should utilize features that help them focus their attention and stop shilling anti-features that destroy their attention span.
HP ZR30W
I work in IT support. I direct connect to peoples computers in one and then 50/50% windows in the other
Having stackoverflow on a dedicated screen makes you more productive
Is this supposed to be a joke?
tfw got my degree pretending to be a girl on stack overflow and nerds kept answering my shit
She sounds like a nice lady
It's convenient to open a separate thread in each tab and let it auto update. I do the same on Reddit as well. I right click on each post and select "Open in New Tab" so I don't forget to check it out. When I'm done, I close the tab.
Having 100-200 tabs is not so uncommon these days among power users like me.
:%s/Emacs, vim/vim, Emacs/g
Link please. This is my fetish.
w2c monitor
Multiple monitors are a meme though, I just use a big ultrawide and it's amazing.
Your mother said the same thing
Kill yourself faggot.
I wish I had a 100" 1:1 curved monitor
>opening new posts on reddit
>100-200 tabs open
>power user

tfw 4 monitors
Good question what is this monitor? It looks pretty good.
you're supposed to have an odd number dumbo
I wonder what he's using. Gedit? A terminal? Atom(lel)?
Emacs
Aww thank you dude. I love her. She's the best.
Honestly the problem is so many people have 16:9 monitors. Fix that with the golden 3:2 and you don't need additional monitors.
It's like 2 or 3 dollars a month u fag
>Americans actually had a niBBer as president
EL EMM AYY OHH
>window management skills
kek
Agreed. Wish they made monitors like the surface studio minus the shitty internals.
Yeah only niggers use multiple monitors
Sauce on that monitor?
...
and white children
>when you notice the multiple monitors
that guy is clearly an asian mongrel
emacs users: rms, knuth, torvalds, rms, ...
vim users: larry wall, ricers on Jow Forums and Jow Forumsunixporn
daily reminder that he also uses a macbook pro

How else can I have fullscreen video and a maximized window visible simultaneously?
All depends on the perspective. Ultrawide is wide enough to be used as two separate non-widescreen monitors, 16:9 is the real ultrashort.
Multiple monitors are kind of like autotragic transmission in cars.
Okay, what about CAD work? You can't tell me fitting all those tool pallets and property managers on one screen with the model is gonna be efficient
Depends on what you do. I have to look at blueprint pdfs, spec pdfs, and estimates while working in cad software and word. I need to be able to see it all at once. Cant cram all that onto one monitor.
Thinking about getting a large 27"+ monitor in the middle for displaying blueprints. On the left have a 3x2 monitor turned vertically for documents and code. On the right have a standard 16:9 for excel and such. But I dont know...
