Game developers are the smartest programmers. They have the most voluminous testicular areas as well

Game developers are the smartest programmers. They have the most voluminous testicular areas as well.

Prove me wrong. Oh that's right. You literally can't.

only the people developing game engines, the rest are not much better than a script kiddie

Every single game dev I know of is working on their own toy engine. Does that count?

No, because their engines are just that: toys.

How else do you suppose game devs learn things?

You think Carmack just decided one day to write the Quake engine? Or did he work on countless other engines first?

Even outside of engine work, you're wrong. Game devs have the blessing and the curse of making everyone their bitch. They have to invent radically new technologies on a daily basis just to cater to some new idea some half-witted weird haired stoner from the Valley cooked up while microdosing LSD.

Game devs are literally gods as far as programming goes. Your CRUD accounting apps are orders of magnitude beneath even the worst successful gamedev.

burger doesn't know the difference between Spanish and Portuguese, claps

Ones indian and the other is black.

As for the language I couldn't care less, they both mangle Spanish so horribly that they are borderline illiterate.

Stop spamming that shit

>reacting on annoying tripfag who repeatedly proved himself being retarded
just stop

I would have agreed with you until the last few years or so when most popular games became free-to-play shit or just straight up porn/hentai/fanservice bait, all using stock engines and designs.

Now I consider game devs on par with web devs. Just a bunch of overworked low skill scum who peddle repackaged junk in exchange for a slice of ad revenue.

>amarok
Has that thing improved since the pile of shit it was a couple of years ago?

engine developers aren't game developers, game devs actually work on games while those that fall for the write the engine yourself meme never end up finishing anything in the 99% of cases

I'm telling you m8, even the worst game devs outclass most webdev tier devs. That;s if they write code. If they don't, that's beyond this discussion.

If they are programmers then they are being penny pinched into writing shit unmaintainable code by a bunch of project managers just like any other mass-market-facing dev job.

Look I get what you're saying, game dev does require a solid understanding of computer science, geometry, physics, linear algebra, etc. As compared to web dev which yeah is just put button on page, dump records into DB, call facebook API. But in the end it doesn't matter what the programmer knows if the product is still junk.

prehistorik 2 is only good on the amstrad

Apps are significantly easier to write than games. I don't case unless I'm the one doing the coding.

I think he's talking about actual engine developers instead of some fucking agdg faggot shitting sprites into a java window.

>TDE
my negger

I'm determinated to write a 2d game, (kind like undertale, mother, pokemon)offline, story based, with multiple endings.
I'm thinking of using an already written engine

but if I would write it from scratch, what would be the best language?
Java? C++?

why & why not?

if you opt for java

I know it's shitty to do this to your own posts, but....
