I just bought a "new" Google Pixel for about $230 USD. Did I fuck up?

youll get android p but after october of this year no more updates except for security

yes.

also as long as you got the larger one youre good on battery life
my smaller one barely lasts 3 hours sot

>no more updates except for security
which basically means no more security updates because google won't release new updated roms
they've pulled the same scam with every google phone previously

do you mean "official" updates? will I still be able to practically update the phone?

apparently youll get security updates but according to this dude im wrong so idk

but, realistically, is there a way to not get fucked on any of these android devices? picking different ones just seems to shift the way you get fucked around

Updates are overrated. I still have a 2012 nexus 7 with Kitkat and it works just fine.

>it works just fine.
stop lying on the internet.

smoothbrain appleshill detected

>(((Google)))
of course you fucked up. kys

whatever you say, google shill

> Jow Forums unironically believes the entire world is out to get them so they need the latest security patches or the hobo in the corner is going to hack them
There is a term for this mental illness as well as medication guys.

Don't those get oreo? Who the fuck needs new roms with oreo?

Paranoia doesn't go far enough to actual credible threats that are literally everywhere. Their weaknesses feed the NSA shillbots.

>t. hobo trying to hack your info

Is your phone working fine now? Yes. Don’t update.

what a piece of shit phone
it's not even waterproof and the back will end up looking like fucking shit without a shit case

>no sd card
lol get rekt you might as well get an iphone and suck cocks for a loving

From woot? It was refurbished and scratch and dents.

What phone for $230 has waterproof looks great and has SD card?

moto g4, although not water proof just spill resistant.
Mine has gotten wet from rain more than a couple times and it still works fine. Also drop it all the time while drunk and it only has a hairline crack that is barely noticeable.

good choice OP
you'll have software support for another year after P, and then security for another year, bringing you to 2020.
after that lineageOS will be supported for probably 4-6 years. Nexus 4 recently got oreo on lineage so that is at 6 years to date.

I'm waiting for pixel 2 xl to be that price so I can grab a huge screen with years of updates for cheap

>Give up camera quality
>Give up performance
>Give up latest Android

But have an SD card.. pass.

it actually is unofficially very water resistant

they only dropped $20 in 6 months?

It works fine for all the tasks you'd expect from a phone. Calling, messaging, web browsing and regular app usage works fine.
Unless you're trying to play the latest games a g4 will service you just fine and you can get them for dirt cheap now

they will be this price for a while.
nexus 5 and 6 are still around these prices too

>windows phone will receive updates longer than GOOG's flagship

AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH

Depends on what you mean by "new"
I think youd be better off with the brand new moto g6 or a xiaomeme in that price range

Is that the Nokia Lumia 640?

950 XL

Are you literally retarded?

>Continuum / Desktop mode running on the phone's own display
h..how?

Sauce pls

Can you still make calls from it?

Have you not been on the internet since 2013? Snowden, no? It's not paranoia, when it has been confirmed and demonstrated.

Install copperheados on it, its a secure AF phone once you do that.

Shouldve gotten a Nexus 6p

>>Give up camera quality
Get a real camera, fag
>>Give up performance
Yeah, I'm sure you absolutely need to be able to render 4k video on your phone on a daily basis...
>>Give up latest Android
Fair

He's dead, Jim. Let it go.
