I got a t430 for cheap and I had to buy a new trackpad sticker (it didn't even come with one)

The battery lasts about 2 hours max
The screen looks like fucking SHIT, not even just resolution wise but color wise. The colors are fucking ungodly trash, it doesn't even look CLOSE to any other monitor or screen I've ever used, it's that bad.

You guys are fucking gay, at least it was very cheap.

Thinkpad retards actually think having to buy $500 worth of accessories to have it still inferior to modern laptops is actually a good thing

T-Series machines have headache inducing PWM displays. X230 won't fuck with your eyes but its just standard sub-par. The W530 I have though is nice. Only the W-Series has decent displays in the xx30 and below machines.

Why is it so difficult to believe, have you people never sniped auctions before? I've won a GTX 680 for 70 bucks a couple of years ago, and a broken surface pro for 30 bucks that had just had a corrupt SSD.

I fell for the thinkpad meme, too. My t420 is probably my favorite electronic device I've ever owned.

Same here. 275GB SSD and 12GB of RAM with a 9 cell battery. Runs Fedora KDE. Best laptop I've ever owned. Even better than my aluminum 12 inch PowerBook G4.

Thinkpads are only worth it if they're already fully upgraded/refurbished.
Sinking 200-300 $ into a 6 year old laptops is gay as fuck.

Why

The trackpoint and keyboard make it very nice to use compared to most laptops, and it has good specs for how much I paid for it. Because of the detachable disk drive, I was able to install an SSD while keeping the old HDD for storage, which has proved very useful. Even though it's old now, running a lightweight linux distro still makes it responsive, and powerful enough to play the games I like.

I just use a surfacebook
The touchscreen lets me be lazy and it has a nice battery

It will always be beyond me how HP manages to make both such good enterprise laptops as the EliteBooks and even some ProBooks, and yet churn out such ridiculously bad consumer laptops.

Agreed. I just wish I could put an IPS in my ProBook. Newer gens have an IPS panel but it's not worth risking it to see if it'll be compatible.
