What are some useful or interesting apps to be found on FDroid Jow Forums?
What are some useful or interesting apps to be found on FDroid Jow Forums?
Clover
That's neither useful nor interesting
Transistor
i can never figure out how to put a station though.
you got a way to find links that work for it?
Radiodroid
No ads or in app purchases, limited permissions as far as internet radio clients go
AntennaPod - nice material design podcast app
Jow Forums always reccs newpipe but the damn audio desyncs with the video when I use it. Super annoying.
Just search "radio name" stream link.
Here's a big german/EU list: wiki.ubuntuusers.de
Oh nice, r/a/dio is already there and it works better than on VLC. Thanks, user.
yalp if you want to get playstore apk's without the botnet
Neat
Try kiss launcher, it's so fucking good you won't regret it.
Orbot
Orfox
I2P
Lightning Browser
Briar briarproject.org
Rumble github.com
Markor
Dandelion
Plumble
Wikipedia
Syncthing
works on my machine (:
Also this: radio-browser.info
>Try kiss launcher
Beautiful.
Syncthing
Silence
Newpipe
Stop using Bluetooth.
lel
>load the page
>20 blocked scripts
I hate modern web.
Only reason I install fdroid.
afwall
yalp store
boot manager
k9mail
Recommend me a launcher.
Is Evie good?
Nicest looking launcher I've seen
ForRunners
Disable your custom launcher first, retard.
Kiss launcher is garbage. OpenLauncher is much better and on F-Droid too.
>OpenLauncher
Looks like another generic launcher. What's so good about it? Did you check KISS? It works like search engine for everything, you can even disable icons and enjoy uncluttered miminimalistic screen.
It's literally faster just to press an app button...
just use nova launcher like everyone else
Here's second pic. My workflow is much better with this, I don't even need to go to the browser to use search anymore.
Nah, you saying this just because you used to tap on icons, try it.
Anyways, I'm not going to shill it further, see for yourself.
>Want to open Brave Browser
>Tap the icon
>App opened
OR
>Type in B
>Type in R
>Tap on result as it pops up
You're introducing unnecessary steps ya dingus
was using this before i bought PocketCasts, and it was pretty good for a FOSS app
>buying apps
Just get AOSP launcher, it does the same while not looking like shit
Why would I tap on the brave icon if I can easily search from homescreen?
As far as I know brave has no home shortcuts
.>You're introducing unnecessary steps ya dingus
What if you need to use the developer menu or call somebody and you have too much contacts? Imagine how many taps you'll need to do this.
AdAway - a must
AFWall, NetGuard for non-root
Clover... Overchan used to work well but I switched.
OsmAnd offline GPS
And any of the Simple* apps.
stop being so whiny jesus user
Nova is objectively the best, isn't on fdroid though.
Lean launcher
There doesn't seem to be any good games on fdroid. Any suggestions? Desert Golfing is OK I guess.
Any good adblocker for non rooted phones?
DNS66
NewPipe
Minesweeper
Simple Solitaire Collection
Retro Breaker
Thank you
you should install nhbooks and play with your dick
Blokada is better
Blokada as an alternative to DN66, both ad blockers
Firefox Klar as an alternative to Firefox Focus (built in ad/tracker blocker)
Skytube as an alternative to NewPipe, Skytube Extra if you want subs
Firefox + uBO and not using apps with built in ads.
NewPipe is extremely buggy for me, so I replaced it with SkyTube which I haven't experienced any problems with so far. And the normal SkyTube version actually supports subs I think.
i paid for Nova Prime and later switched to Evie. Nova has more customization, but Evie is great out of the box and eats less RAM.
If I had to pick a FOSS option, Lawnchair is pretty great, although the swipe-up-for-drawer is a bit bugged.
If you want like a 5 month old version.
If you like Evie you should check out Kiss
Firefox Klar / Focus is so fucking good. I would stick to it if it had an option to save history (which i know defeats the whole purpose). No other browser peforms as fast for me.
I put it on the internet radio site (see the info on radiodroid), you can modify it if you want.
I didn't manage to show the song titles, maybe you can.
>SkyTube version actually supports subs I think.
Really? I need to try that; and actually the Extra version is for having youtube embedded, for subs and livestreams I guess
Why briar and not conversation with OMEMO and an XMPP?
The sub tab and button is available in the normal version. I also don't trust the Extra version because it's closed source and not on Fdroid, and their entire project is suspicious, because while entirely free, they have a very professional website with advertisements for the app, so I stick with the normal version.
that's an interesting point, since I was using Extra for subs seems like I really don't need it now, thanks user
I setted KISS to the long press of the home button, Trebuchet plus KISS is perfect.
Is a battery drainer though
Not in my experience
>People still recommending Clover over Dashchan
Holy shit Jow Forums is retraited.
don't even need to meme
>Dashchan user cant spell retarded
Is there a way to have F-Droid bulk install updates when the user wants to, WITHOUT requiring the phone to be rooted?
On that note - doesn't rooting your phone basically leave you completely vulnerable to everything and anything malware related?
I've been using Tachiyomi to read manga, and it's actually pretty decent. Though I'll admit I'm not knowledgeable on the world of chinese comic reading apps.
>doesn't rooting your phone basically leave you completely vulnerable to everything and anything malware related?
It leaves you vulnerable to people that have physical access to your phone.
Someone would need to find an exploit in your root manager (or somehow make you give him root access) to remotely fuck up your phone. Possible but not likely.
Orbot
Orfox
Clover
Exodus
Vinyl Music Player
And pretty much any SimpleMobileTools app
also
Brair
>Did you check KISS? It works like search engine for everything, you can even disable icons and enjoy uncluttered miminimalistic screen.
That's exactly why it's garbage.
A phone is not a pc. I use dmenu on both desktop and laptop, but on a phone it's better to have icons.
OpenLauncher is good exactly because it's a generic launcher, only FOSS. It doesn't try to do fancy useless shit like the other FOSS launchers.
>Why would I tap on the brave icon if I can easily search from homescreen?
>As far as I know brave has no home shortcuts
Why use Vinyl over Phonograph?
Get a keyboard with a better spell checker first.
Emulators
Fire emblem heros.
>not foobar for music
because vinyl has everything phonograph has, some more stuff, and no paywalls, you get everythging out of the box
adrien.poupa.fr
>Why would I tap on the brave icon if I can easily search from homescreen?
>Why would I tap the screen one time to open an app if I can tap it multiple times?
Your autism is showing, user
That should keep me occupied while on the train. Thanks user!
>mips
people still use that?
Man, that beats the shit out of Mi Manga Nu, which I'd been using.
Using that app to make this post which would be my first recommendation.
FaceSlim is a Facebook browser that's better than the general one.
I just discovered Tachiyomi which is app that lets you read and download manga/comic books from online free sites (KissManga, readcomicsonline, etc), it's pretty good.
FaceSlim also scans installed Google Play apps available on FS and let's you manage updates with FS instead of GP.
Shattered pixel dungeon
I like Vinyl Music Player for locally sorted music. Poweramp was good, but it's too bloated and full of annoying Android Gingerbread legacy stuff.
Lightning Browser, maybe IceCat Mobil
Are the SD card write permissions on this thing broken or what? Can't get the tag editor to work at all
Good catch, yeah, apparently it doesn't work (and looks pretty limited even if it did).
Motherfucking niggers took a bunch away for some gay reason.
Blokada
It did that out of the box for me.
wallpaper?
gtfo shill
Blokada v3.
For that last part with Google Play I ment F-Droid not FaceSlim, whoops!
This was an interesting thread. Someone apparently confirmed that Yalp store was sending searches on plaintext.
I don't have a custom launcher. This is stock pixel one.
Thanks.
Not sure about that. Used it when had Android 4.x.x. Wasn't bad, but wouldn't call it great from memory. Have paid version, will check again.
Haven't heard about this one, will check, thanks.
is there anything that can record calls?
call recorder doesn't work with telegram and signal
