Vista RTM was almost as bad as Windows ME, due to a combination of generally shit hardware, and poor software.
By the time SP2 came around, Vista was fantastic on decent hardware, unless you got hit with the GPU scheduling bug (8600GT on a Q6600, for example)
I still use Vista on a Dell Precision M6600 because legacy, and it works very well.

Windows 7 is nice. I imagine that Vista ended up similar to 7 with all of the bug fixes. I hardly ever used Vista so I wouldn't know. I don't think Microsoft will ever make another good os after Windows 7. Rip

Yep it was pretty. I remember media player just being so nice and polished. I bought my first real laptop and it came with vista and darn comfy
