I'm still using a 6950 2GB with one fan. My average room temperature is 30-35C because of it.

When the fuck will I be able to buy the latest mid-end GPU card in the $250-$300 price range again? I've been waiting for years now

the price isn't coming down in the foreseeable future

just buy whatever you think is good in your budget when you need it instead of Just Waitâ„¢

GTX 1050 Ti outperforms that AYYMD HOUSEFIRES while only using up to 75W

Replace that junk with superior Nvidia power efficient GPUs

Go look up the benchmarks, cunt

GTX 1050 Ti outperforms GTX 580 which outperfoms this AYYMD HOUSEFIRES garbage

Illiterate underage scum.

>200w

damn bruh, no wonder i'm sweating every summer

>1 and half year old gpu beats 7 year old gpu

What's your point? Are you here just to suck nvidia dick?

1000 series is two years old.
You'd have to be a complete fool to buy any of them right now instead of waiting for the next iteration.

>$1 has been deposited into your bank account from Nvidia Corporation

The point is that there is nothing wrong with replacing that piece of shit with a 1050Ti until prices settle down more.
The 1060 is still too expensive.
I own a 7850.
>waitfag
If you need it now, what is the problem? Mid-range tesla will not be out for quite a while, the xx60 will probably still be too expensive, and the xx50 will not be seen until next year.

>implying it's worth paying $200 for a $120 gpu.

You can get 1060 3gb's for 230, and can often find 1060 6gb's for under 300 if you don't mind buying novidya. I've also seen rx 570/80:s under 300 as well. It's not really a great idea to buy those cards at the moment, but if you don't want to wait those are your options, and they will all destroy the 6950 which is still somehow a somewhat viable card despite receiving no driver updates for 2 years.

>1060 3gb's for 230
>implying this is good
And if you pay a cent over 250 for a 1060 6GB you have a brain tumor.
>rx 570/80
Nice housefires retard, OP wanted something power efficient.

Also what cpu are you using? Since that's also very likely a significant culprit to heat production if you're using an old overclocked cpu, far more likely than your gpu unless you're gaymin 10 hours a day.

1060 is a low-end card

$300 for a low end card? never

6700k

>muh 4k
kill yourself

what are you talking about, retard?

1050ti is a low end card, 1060 is a mainstream / low mid card. If you consider 1060/rx570/80 low end, you're likely never going to see what you consider mid range under $300 new ever again. As it stands, if you're running 1080p they're plenty.

Eh, unless you're maxing it out on an overclock it won't generate that much heat.

right now.

So what's the better plan right now for mid-range pc? Bite the 1050ti or wait a bit for 1060 to drop? Or bite rx580?

bite the 1060 but if you find a cheap 1070 then 1070. 1060/580 barely keep up with the newer games and the latter is op as fuck and rare in supply

Show me where I can get a 1050ti for $189.

those aren't mid-end cards, those are low-end cards

1070, vega etc are mid-end cards

I'm planning on using it for games and I've seen benchmarks of 1060 able to run newer games in mid settings

It's a little too costly for me right now.

1060/rx580 can play anything on 1080p high-ultra settings just fine. 1440p med-high. They're only "low end" if you're talking about 4k, in which case even a 1070 would be low end. Ultra settings is a meme, and anyone who uses that as a standard of whether or not a given piece of hardware can run a game at a specified resolution is retarded.

>When the fuck will I be able to buy the latest mid-end GPU card in the $250-$300 price range again
You can get a 4GB RX 580 for 280 :)

>Implying shintelfags/novideos care about picture quality, smooth performance or tweaking the settings.
They only care about the highest recorded fps. Hardware utilisation, optimisations, doesn't matter. Only numbers do. But not all numbers!

>BUTTMAD AYYMDPOORFAGS WITH NO GPUS AND NO DRIVERS DETECTED

580 is a low-end card using 6 years old chip

>1050ti is a low end card
gtx 1030 is a low end card...

bull fucking shit

1440p is barely at 40 fps with rx580 or 1060 on the latest games

Show me the chip existing 6 years ago brainlet lol

14nm fabs weren't even operational 6 years ago lmao

>calling someone a brainlet because you're an autistic little shit who can't use google to find basic information

interesting

see
If AMD gave different revisions of GCN different names you brainlets wouldn't be able to tell the difference

What do you define as 'mid-end'?

>200$ gpus
AHAHAHAHAHA

There are a boatload of 1060 6GB on ebay.ca for $350CAD. Should come out to around $300USD.

Got a backup pc running with a 6950 with dual fans. They went bad and put 2 spare noctua 80mm fans on it. It does fairly well considering its age and the fact that it's legacy hardware already. I'm still running 670s on sli on my main. Can't wait to upgrade. O e of the 670s will go to the backup pc.

You're looking for either GTX 1060 6GB or RX 580 8GB, both of which should be around $350 now.
I have XFX RX 580 8G Black Edition and it's enough for 1080p and 1440p High or Ultra. What I noticed was a considerable improvement in drivers over a one-year period - the latest driver can give me 10 FPS more compared to last year's.
The GTX 1060 should perform about the same.

My 6950 is still strong, it's a XFX 6960 2GB with one fan. I'm surprised it hasn't kicked the bucket yet. Man, I've been rough with it whenever I've taken it out from my motherboard for cleaning and it still works. AMD hardware is pretty sturdy.

The 1030 isn't really a 3D rendering card. It's a card you install when you need additional ports for your monitor.

>0.000,000,6 shekels have been transferred to your account

My local Best buy sells 1050 TI's for 179.99

You realize benchmarks are ran at ultra settings right? You're going to have to provide specifics beyond "the latest games"

Attached: 1440p.png (1320x2887, 144K)

I'm using a 1050Ti and a 710.

The 1050 takes the brunt of the workload, the 710 takes over Physx (lol), NVENC encoding (The important one), audio streaming and other rendering tasks. They have a very complimentary relationship.
Considering the 710 cost me the kingly sum of $12 I can't complain.

Attached: 71050ti.jpg (781x572, 76K)

so only the 1080ti and higher are high end? The vega 64 blows the 1080 the fuck out

the 710 is probably bottlenecking the 1050ti in Physx

what does gpu having one fan have to do with your room temperature

The 1030 GDDR5 and RX 550 can play games though, it's the DDR4 version that sucks.
