This thread is about the appreciation of watches, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
Please don't feed the spring drive shitposter (You)s, this is the exact same bait as has been used on this subject dozens of times before, just search the archive if you want to see literally every argument on the subject.
The brushed finish on the dial is nice, but I'm not entirely in love the amount of rounding on the case edges, though at least it looks like its from the buffing wheel and not from excessive barrel polishing.
Samuel Moore
Yeah it's finished extremely well. I love the overall look of it.
Usually found for $2000 or so grey market. Retail is $3400, got it for $1000 through a jomashop on a flash sale that's going through the 29th.
Carson Campbell
>Yeah it's finished extremely well. Well, I'd say it's finished pretty nicely for what you paid for it, but at MSRP I wouldn't really say so.
Robert Rogers
It's hardly finished at all
Christopher Rodriguez
Yeah, at full retail I would expect better decoration of the movement and would be a little disappointed in that department. At average grey market of $2000 or so I would be alright with it I guess but at what I paid I couldn't be happier with it.
You might, quite reasonably, argue that the external finishing is mediocre or bad even, but it *is* finished in some fashion. I assumed you were talking about movement finishing when you said "its hardly finished at all" because much of the movement is unfinished, whereas the exterior is clearly finished in some fashion, even if you don't like how its finished.
Andrew Morgan
wow, such classy and well finished tritium gas viles.
wear it in good health my friend.
Nathaniel Rodriguez
Well, I'm a fag then because I like Seiko as much as Rolex and pre-quartz Omega and Girard Perregaux.
What's /wt/'s thoughts on the seiko SKX007, yay or nay? The rubber bracelet isn't that nice looking imo so ill probably replace that.
Lucas Wood
Nay. The Ray II is a FAR better watch and cheaper
Jacob Gray
Do you care about ISO dive watch standards? If not, the Orient Ray/Mako 2 is more watch for the money. Do you mind quartz? If not, consider the Citizen 0150/0151.
If you want ISO compliance and a mechanical movement, then the SKX is the one to have.
Why do both of you look battered as fuck? One on the left has that horrific scar down the arm and the one on the rights legs are all torn up. Are you both out getting in street fights?
Carter White
He's an older fat guy not either of those girls
Kayden Collins
>discussion has diverted from my Tudor Heritage Black Bay
Yay, replace the strap with either a Strapcode super oyster or a £1 rubber strap from AliExpress. My SKX was my first 'real' watch and I'll never get rid of it.
