You might try with TubeMate. I haven't tried playlists in it but it supports them. It has a function to play audio only and not bother with the video, and in that mode it continues while tabbed to another app or screen off.
You tap the "download" down arrow and select "play audio".
Make sure you get version 2.4.4.716 specifically -- that's the latest version before they removed the audio-only functions due to idiotic piracy concerns. (I say idiotic because I use it to listen to podcast type videos with my screen off, and their antipiracy move killed my non-pirate use case.)
