Computers are complex and you can't explain them enough on few pages, there are always abstraction layers hiding terrifying complexity behind what you are doing.
Would say SICP because it indeed uses very high-level language that is abstract yet conceptually simple.

>learning programming
>FROM BOOKS
RETARD.

1.Pick a fucking language
2.find a fuckton of videos teaching you the syntax of the language
3.do the simplest exercises
4.do harder exercises and see the corrections
5.repeat step 4 until you're good at programming

That's how i learned C++.
oh, and i'm fucking employed too, no degree

what videos for C++?

Ok tell me what you do with C++ and how much they pay you for it

sololearn, for instance, and a fuckton of others i got off torrenting.

fucking retard

But math textbooks are written like that. Except they will show you unintelligible notation first and then pretend it is self-explanatory.

i don't do sepples, i just mentioned it because it was my first language, i do java there, db, 50k.

that seems like incomplete language basics

Try HTML for Retards.

Yeah well I work 14H a week as a manager at wendy's making 120K a year.

do you get free burgers?

I guess if you are stupid it seems that way....

>hi i'm vegan

that's cute kid I suck dicks behind a five guys and make 300k year

This is absolutely ok if you simply want to get into programming.

Yet, being able to understand layers upon layers of abstraction will have you program better.

So, by all means. Learn through videos, but get better with books.

Probably math books, and then math'y programming books.
