WIndows 7 with classic theme

I love how it looks, but there's one problem, I get shit load of screen tearing. Is there any way to enable desktop compositor while still keeping this look?

Yeah, that's the whole point of the classic theme. No input lag. If you want less screen tearing get a better monitor.

What do you mean, higher refresh rate?

>screentearing is just a linux pro-

enable desktop compositing in performance settings

It's part of the experience bro embrace it

even if you enable it, it doesn't apply it if aero peek is not enabled.
I wish there was some kind of a hack to force the desktop compositor to work with classic theme.

>aero peek
is that the preview it gives while hovering over taskbar items? it has been a while since I used windows but I was pretty sure you could disable all the performance options and set the theme to windows classic while reenabling composition
if that still doesn't work there might be a third party theme you could use to achieve the same thing

There was a Classic theme for Aero, I remember using it but it was ages ago

Install Compton. Oh wait...
Nevermind, enjoy your BOTNET!

ReactOS will get rid of screen tearing

you can't. The GDI+ shipped with Windows Vista and 7 does not have hardware acceleration

it was ugly and not worth using over microsoft's classic theme

>not using XFCE with Chicago95 on GNU/Linux

Freesync/G-sync

set the taskbar icon size to tiny
you're welcome

Install ReactOS

That theme is for ancient hardware. Just embrace Aero FFS, it’s been 10 years already.

High refresh rate monitor. Although you won't get rid of it completely. It will just help a bit.
Or, you know, just get used to it.

You're interpreting things your own way:

There just isnt any way to have classic theme with Win10 is there?

>embrace garbage
>it's been 10 years
Fuck off.

> t. Toaster user

Aero and metro 1.5 are pure garbage. This has nothing to do with having toasters. Classic shell is the only saving grace right now.

i have vertical screen tearing with aero and horizontal screen tearing with it disabled

> windows 10
> aero
LOL

Reading comprehension

force vsync in your GPU control panel

that only works for 3d applications (games)

Get a Mac and stop suffering shitty UI and screen tearing. Only aesthetic themes and smooth animations over here.

>smooth animations
I almost threw up. That shit is nothing but bloat.

>Get a Mac
stopped reading right there

Have DirectShow application run in background.

Or use custom theme

how do I do that?

saarineames.deviantart.com/art/Classic-AE-2-5-5-Dev-569245688
catches more UI edge cases

>not using small icons
failure.

Why is reactOS so beautiful yet useless?
I wish that kind of design trend comes back one day.

needs more jpeg

Does it actually use less resources? Because otherwise optimized flat win7 is acceptable.

I don't know about resources, but it feels incredibly responsive and fast compared to aero. There's no gay animations and shit to delay you either.
