who needs FFTs

Attached: tek2232front.jpg (947x649, 147K)

this... is the technology board... right?

Why would you need this shit anyway?

this
can it play witcher?

You use it to view the waveforms of circuits. I use it to make money from home so I don't have to be a wageslave.

Looks like an ECG for machines

>oscilloscope
Fucking nerd lmao, am i rite?

Similar.

who needs a second channel, cursors, fancy text on the screen and what not

Attached: mobile-scope-q54.jpg (800x600, 70K)

Do you put your paper over the screen and trace your sine waves too, grandpa?

what happened to those square waves?

You traditionalists with your hardware oscilloscopes.

Attached: scope.webm (1920x886, 1.35M)

That looks like shit.

Attached: IMG_20180531_173940_083.jpg (2432x1275, 771K)

Why this shit is so expansive?
Are they pricing it so high just because they can get away with it?

>expensive

No, I use a camera, youngster.

Any good FOSS oscilloscopes?

Mine was 20€

Hey pal you're on the wrong board. We only do consumer electronics round here

>Any good FOSS oscilloscopes?
Not that I know of. Pretty easy to make one though. Biggest issue with software oscilloscopes on consumer hardware is they're pretty much only good for audio because the sampling rate is so low.

Look at this fucking retard
Let's all point and laugh

I just use the ones my University provides

Why would you even need four channels?

>who needs FFTs
people whoms't are performing actual work

So I can have 4 more channels than wat u got

Also built in arithmetic functions when using multiple channels bruh

How often do you need to use more than 2 channels max?

Yes, the sound card oscilloscopes are not very useful.
I meant something like this
sourceforge.net/projects/qtoscilloscope/
But this project is not active recently and the Analog Discovery hardware it uses seems to be discontinued

>a-am i fitting in yet?

Never but I have the option which is nice. Bought it used

it's pretty hot outside, this time of year ..

not if you're in new zealand or argentina

Yeah because Argentinians didn't hide Hitler.

Yeah I like Kiwi's. There is a South Korean Black Belt there. Beautiful

Are Picoscopes any good?

s-screw you guys
i'm not jealous btw

New cheapo power supply after my old one died.

I can do that too.

I think /diy/ would be more appreciative of this thread, Jow Forums is for consumer electronics and a bit of programming

as much as i'd have liked to get a 300 bucks dso, just couldn't justify that price for a very casual hobby.

Nice. Have you tried this?
openhantek.org/

Whats that little box off to the left?

power supply clearly

sup gayboys

Wow. Nice pre-owned crapgilent. Let me know when you can afford a slick new keysight.

what for? the laptop? why is it so big?

dunno, probably has a big ol transformer in it
probably 30V @ 5A or something

the dude even posted a pic its 30V @ 10A tho it'd probably explode if you actually ran it at that

I don't have a pic of just the scope. Hameg HM-604, best trashpick ever.

Not the most accurate, but it does what I need it to

>Why would you even need four channels?
>on Jow Forums

I have used oscilloscope plugins in the past, but only for mixing audio. Essential for dialing in the perfect level of compression, decay of reverb/delay, and ADSR in general.

>not wiring up the signal you want to look at up to an old crt to go full ghetto

Attached: ghetto-oscilloscope.jpg (500x375, 18K)

What a beautiful piece of technology.

brainlet here what for are you using those things?

oversimplified answer for brainlets: it shows you how voltage in circuit changes in time - voltmeter that draws graphs.

And how is that useful in anyway? You can just pirate some software to do the same job.

Mine is an entry level oscilloscope from KeySight (series 1000X).
It's not amazing but it helps me

Attached: edux1000.jpg (1280x960, 242K)

What skin is that? Your waves are very pleasing to look at.

The default keysight color scheme
yellow -> channel 1
green -> channel 2
blue -> channel 3
purple -> channel 4
Btw it's an AM modulated sine wave, that's why the wave is "filled".

I can't even tell if this is bait or not

Yours still looks better than op's. did op dig his chinese knock off out of the trash or something?

whats a good starter one for a programmer who does meme IoT stuff and likes to play with circuits?

Lol a bunch of nerds

labview

Theres no reason to buy one. It basically has a bare bones computer inside it.

It's not about the power of the processor you retard

>max freq 20khz

not even good for audio.

Attached: 1527744714917.jpg (1001x509, 155K)

What are you talking about? Is that your o-scope? Explain.

Are you shaking with the frequency?

How do you make money from home using it?

I usually fix power tools, but I can repair pretty much any kind of electronics.

Not home (yes i filthy fone poster) and dont have a pic of mine, but here is a publicity shot.
