Is anyone else sickened any time a "aesthetic" or similar term comes up in a tech review?

Is anyone else sickened any time a "aesthetic" or similar term comes up in a tech review?
I'm buying this thing because I'm going to use it to look at porn and do work. I swear to God those tech reviewers and the people that design half of modern electronics sit at their starbucks drinking their latte thinking how they can make their product even thinner, with less features, nothing to set it apart from anything else, knowing that if they just circlejerk hard enough the normies will eat it up
I would much, MUCH rather pay 600 for a thick sturdy laptop with every port I need and a trackpoint than 1200 on a plastic/metal slate with 1 usb c port, a useless touch screen, and hardly any power in its little underclocked (due to no fans) cpu
Man fuck modern technology
In the 80's you'd be glad to have something bulky and ugly if it meant more power or an upgrade
No reason there's so manygays today, everyone's conditioned to enjoy being fucked in the ass

Nope. Aesthetics matter, OP

That's exactly why i still use a 2008 Thinkpad, 10 years and there isn't any upgrade from it.

No one cares fag.

You can still buy your uselessly large piece of shit laptops today, but I want my laptops to be light, thin and acceptable for normal portable use.

This. I actually like portability. I also actually like to look good, and that includes my environment and devices, because I’m not a basement dwelling incel trying desperately to be an edgelord by using ridiculously large and ugly things just to prove a point. Why don’t you use a horse and buggy while you’re at it?

Edgelords are butthurt because things are too good and too easy, and they have very few ways to rebel and display their impotent rage. Why acknowledge that things are better than ever on average? Then you’d have to admit that mommy and daddy are right. Instead, build your identity out of the things you consume, but buy crappy, ugly, old things to conceal the fact that you’re using your belongings to make your identity, and cover up the fact that you already know that looks actually do matter. Instead of enjoying the spoils of all the hard work of our ancestors at this peak moment in our civilization, you’d rather throw it down the toilet and waste the best years of your life being contrarian for the sake of it, simply because you don’t have any real problems to deal with. Your life could be filled with beauty, you could be stoked on how good things are, but instead you’ll choose ugliness simply out of a childish pleasure to rebel to display your “individuality”. It’s a cheap trick that others see right through.

Aesthetics matter. Function over form is the cry of the autist who can’t admit that they’re socially inept, and cant handle the reality that the world sees you, and is judging you based on appearances.

We can have nice things, but you guys are too giant of faggots to simply enjoy that fact

Beauty doesnt mean flat, gray, looks the same as every other laptop.

Sir you called? uwu

HP Envy is the most aesthetic laptop amirite guys

When I go to a programming meetup, I want my laptop to look professional.

same, i use the same old ass dirty yellow case for my PC, just chaging the parts from time to time.

Nobody said it did. Personally, I like the new form factors of newer laptops, both Apple & non-Apple. And I think it would be great if they came in more colors— Gold, space grey & rose gold are nice movements in that direction— but I can’t control what computer companies offer, brighter can you. I think the newer razers, the gold MacBooks, the Newer surface pros all look great and offer modern, tasteful directions for a more aesthetically pleasing laptop

This desu

Aesthetic matters based on the environment you’re in. If it’s your personal laptop no one gives a damn, but if you have to use it in professional settings, aesthetic matters.

No one takes a business type seriously if they have gaudy RGB lightup logos and trackpads built into your laptop. Likewise, no one takes a creative seriously if they use something that doesn’t support convenient or bleeding edge features.

But trackpads are the most convenient feature in a business laptop

what business laptop doesn't have trackpad?

touchpads suck massive dick compared to the trackpoint

Oh wait in my drunken half knocked out mind o thought he was talking about a trackpoint
Who the fuck calls a touchpad a trackpad
Trackpoints are based, extra mouse buttons and never have to move from the keyboard
Dont get in the way and they take like 5 minutes to get used to

>RGB lightup trackpads

what?

google “trackpad”

it’s 100% synonymous with touchpad

Yeah I know now
Reread my post

>I don't want a laptop's that portable
Then why the fuck are you buying a laptop?

But something like a T420 fits OP's bill and it's pretty portable.

You'd have to be a massive homosexual twink to find a T420 "not portable".

its possible to have both, no? there should be some kind of reasonable middle ground between the two and that doesn't really exist so i can somewhat understand ops point and do like things to be sleek and portable so i understand your point but i don't see why we can't do both
