Running it on my shitty Packard Bell laptop. This used to have Windows Vista, and it was laggy jittery shit back then, couldn't even watch Youtube with it. Now things run quite smoothly, even with low system specs. Lots of free RAM,

Why didn't you try debian + lxde directly?

Its actually pretty good for old pc's, was my first Linux distro.
I ran it on a 32bit pc with 2gb ram (replaced Windows 10).

lubuntu > any other ubuntu > debian

because he's not into anal like you

use 250x250

I ran it on my PC with 300 mb of ram. It's pretty solid.

I tried it on an old ass desktop which had XP sp3 and 540MB RAM.
was not a really good experience

It's garbage. You are probably better off with Xfce over LXDE.

It was good many years ago, nowadays they bumped the requirements to 1 GB of RAM just for the OS+DE, and 2 GB of you plan to use a web browser
Use antiX, it's the only reasonable lightweight distro nowadays

>antiX
What makes it more lightweight than, say, debian?

Worked great for over a year with 8GB RAM (didn't use more than 1GB itself), an SSD and this piece of shit CPU: cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel Celeron N2840 @ 2.16GHz

Not using systemd and Pulseaudio, but you can tweak Debian in an almost equal configuration as antiX
But antiX works with a nice IceWM and wpa_supplicant config tools ootb

Anything ending in "buntu" is trash

I love it. I've installed Lubuntu 18.04 + i3 on my new Acer Swift 1 and it's been running great. RAM usage is around 280 MB on idle and it's really fast.

for 32 bit systems it okei
for 64 bit systems use Xubuntu

running it on my t60 for about a year. It works good on 1gb memory

Lubuntu is fine :) ~270MB memory footprint on boot
Old PCs 2GB/4GB RAM will be fully useable :)

wifi doesn't work on my dell mini 9

Xubuntu is much better while using practically the same amount of resources.

>xubuntu
also if less than 1GB ram don't even bother just use CLI or neck yourself

i3 is lighter weight. Use Gentoo or Arch32 with it.
