Last time they tried, docx became an official standard.

No viable alternative

microsoft office uses proprietary formats to lock the ecosystem

Because Google Docs broke it and only companies that don't know how to install Google Docs still use MS Office.

actually libre office is great, it's just shit at opening proprietary .docx files which change every update

Because Microsoft pays millions of dollars to lobbies to keep stuff like op suggested from happening

Especially PowerPoint, Impress is hot garbage

Ever tried LaTeX beamer? No? Though so.

So everyone

people over 40 eg managers and corporate executives don't know how to install Google Docs

Nobody forces you to not use Openoffice or Pages or Numbers or Kingsoft Office

Apple's iWork suite is pretty much up to par, if not better in certain aspects.

I don't even know cause I don't care, the point is in a business environment is never up to you what to use, Microsoft is realiable and is the standard, all business computers come already with it installed and nobody cares if open office is better (it isn't, it's almost equal in the best case) that's what's you're supposed to use and that's it

Think about all the corporate domains that run on exchange and outlook, my dad is actually forced to use it for security reasons and he can't install let's say thunderbird. If an employee start sending attachments in rtf that is a potential problem, so you order him to use word and that's it

>LaTeX beamer
how delusional you have to think that hr retards will learn that shit lol

spotted the neet

>microsoft office uses proprietary formats to lock the ecosystem

DocX is literally a bunch of zipped xmls. You could reverse engineer it in two afternoons.

But your workplace or school will

Then why is it still a broken mess when you open it with other programs?

Why are you forcing your homosexual degeneracy?

because microsoft doesn't care about their own set standards and uses shitty hacks.

Because you can't expect freetards to actually do something useful.

Because the world is overpopulated as is.

*reported*

No thanks, I don't read freetard propaganda.

Do you work in hr? Beamer worked fine for me the last 5 years at both university and work

>implying anybody was ever banned for announcing sage
>implying on not on a mobile network with dynamic ips

>autism
>intensifies

good for you. it's easier to click a few buttons than memorize tags.

>Microsoft deliberately butchers their own standards they claim is open so you'll be forced to use office software
This has to be illegal or some kind of anti competitive activity. Why isn't anyone suing microsoft over this? Why is this allowed

Basically this. There is no better WYSIWYG office suite available.
