Hidden and visible folders keep appearing after I delete them from my smartphone file browser. How do I find out what app they originate from so I can terminate them permanently. They're like fucking weeds growing back every time I cut them.

Is there a website for finding motherboards by feature?

E.g., To see all motherboards with coaxial or optical outputs that are DDR3. Or all that have dual ethernet and HDMI out.

Newegg and PCpartpicker seem to have pretty small collections.

What is the biggest PSU i can put in a SFF case? its a Thinkcentre M92p.

i am trying to get my head around importing of classes from modules in python

whenever i import a class from another module, it also executes the code from the module which is not inside of the class.

it seems that python executes the whole module and then executes the file that i am working with. why is this so?

Fellas, I may have fucked up unintentionally.

I fear I got cyber aids, even though the whole thing happened just in a browser. Am I just paranoid or should I get some bootable antivirus and run a scan, and if so, which one do you recommend?

Why when comparing the same RAM in different capacities the higher capacity one is slightly slower on average?

i.e ram.userbenchmark.com/Compare/GSKILL-RipjawsX-DDR3-1600-C9-2x8GB-vs-GSKILL-RipjawsX-DDR3-1600-C9-2x4GB/m89303vsm89321

gimme some tips on writing an aimbot. can be memory based or screenscraping idc. not a lot of info online and decompiling other peoples stuff has been harder than i thought

how can i comfortably sit at a computer all day? what stuff do i need to buy?

What NLE video editor has the greatest functionality in terms of being able to manipulate video and add effects?
I pirated Sony Vegas a while ago, but are there any alternatives that are better?

whats the difference between router and switch?

Damn I wish I had a gf like that.

Depends on what you mean by "all day".
If we are talking 12-14 hours, then you are going to want a decent chair with a headrest and arm rests, and a desk that is at the perfect height for you personally.
Good posture is probably the most important though. You can buy a 10k office chair and still have back pain if your posture is shit.
Also for prolonged typing mechanical keyboards can get a bit tiring, just pick whatever keyboard you like best, don't fall for the "mechanical keyboards are mandatory" meme.

routers route traffic between networks and are able to learn networks dynamically. switches allow you to connect multiple devices to the same network or even different networks. however switches cannot route traffic between different networks

A switch hooks up one network segment. A single subnet, eveything on it can hear and be heard by anything else. Deciding where a packet should go is simple, machine X is on port Y, packets for it go there. A router connects different network segments, and makes more involved decisions. "I don't know where X is, but it's on subnet Y, and I can reach subnet Y by talking to this machine that I know how to get to..." In a home network the different segments being connected are "your local network" and "the rest of the internet".

This is something of an oversimplification (for example, these days there are managed switches that can do some router-like things) but you get the basic idea.

I'm using the iGPU on my i3 8100 till I can afford a 1050ti, question is should I manually allocate memory to the iGPU, or will it automatically use as much as needed?

I've set it to 1024MB in UEFI, but I'm not sure if I should set it to auto.

It will use as much as it needs.

that was the most educative tihing i have read in days on this very board
thaks a lot

I don't know python, but that sounds standard for any scripting language where you will import modules by running the module. Other similar languages i've used simply run each statement in the module, and you normally stick to a convention such as "only define a single class per module, all functions must be contained in that class".

Possibly noise, notice some stats are higher on the lower-ranked (larger) RAM, and the difference between them is very small.
Could also be reporting the RAM capabilities rather than what they are actually running at, and mobo's support more overclocking on the smaller sticks (wild guess there.)
I know my mobo runs RAM at lower clocks if i fill up all 4 banks, do those benchmarks include runs where a user has eg 2x sets of that RAM kit, or specifically only one kit?

the exercise called to take three numbers, take the two largest of the three, square them and then add them together, this is what I came up with:

(define (lnsos a b c)
(cond ((< a b c) (sos b c))
((< b a c) (sos a c))
((< c b a) (sos a b))
((< b c a) (sos a c))
((< a c b) (sos c b))
((< c a b) (sos a b))))

it works but im wondering if theres a way to shorten it

screen-scraping is kinda dumb, still detectable yet much worse results.
1) see how other people have hooked the engine and/or find the game's SDK and see what it exposes (SDKs are generally easier to hook, less reversing to do)
2) write your hooks, read data (viewangles, enemy positions
3) find an engine function that does ray casting for collisions if you want to avoid shooting at invisible people
4) etc...

The maths and logic is the easy part IMO, getting a reliable hook and avoiding detection is the hard part, and it's the part that nobody can/will spoonfeed you.

google services have been extremely slow and/or not loading for a few days. Then there's this. This is all outside my knowledge base. Wat do?

Im trying to recover the data off of a 750 GB WD blue HDD but when i plug the drive into a SATA to USB adapter (tested and works so its not the adapter) it either flashes for a while and then goes off or when it stays on i get (in windows) semaphore timeout period has expired.

even when i use HDD recovery programs it cant find the disk. the weirdest part to me is that if the drive is plugged in while booting my mobo freezes before showing the msi logo or the UEFI.

data was previously recovered with a bootable recovery program (forget the name) successfully but all the data is randomly labeled and not in any particular order. im unsure if this has affected the data on the drive.

in ubuntu the drive blinks a lot longer but is picked up by gnome-disks with unknown partitioning and 750 GB of free space. the drive is also not listed in nautilus, even as root, despite being assigned /sdb.

so im wondering about what this could possibly be and what i can do about it to get the data back.

if the drive is done for thats fine as a lot of the data was recovered but some is missing.

the drive was win 10 with only (i think) 1 partition.

>tl;dr
>drive doesnt show up in windows or nautilus but does in gnome-disks
>previous data recovery done but want more

This is almost certainly your ISP not having its shit fully together at the moment.

primary importance:
5-10 minute stand up/stretch/walk break every 30-45 minutes.
2 minute break for your eyes (focus at least 10-15m away) every 20 minutes

secondary importance:
use an ergonomic / split keyboard with a comfortable tilt.
if right handed make sure your keyboard doesnt have a numpad on the right side so your mouse arm isnt swung out, lifting your dominant shoulder (common asymmetry caused by most keyboard+mouse setups)
good quality office chair, can find some good quality $200 chairs - you want backrest tilt, vertical raising, and seat tilt adjustments. don't fall for gamer meme chairs.
avoid armrests unless they are very adjustable - you dont want armrests permanently stuck in your way preventing chair going under desk enough, or pushing your shoulders high (common).
proper monitor height/keyboard/mouse positions
if feet not flat on floor, get a footrest

Contact your ISP there is NOTHING WE CAN DO.

What's the name of the artist?

thanks senpai

thanks, I'll give them a call then. From what I had read that seemed likely but getting a confirmation from a person helps.

the fuck is your deal? So others have been having the same issue? That's interesting. Wonder what's going on

I just reinstalled win 7 and nothing is fucking working. I can't download updates, it's not recognizing my monitor or anything and trying to update drivers just doesn't find any. Can someone please help me I can't take this anymore

Any suggestions for a satellite ISP? I remember a few years ago there was a good one that seemed to genuinely care about people's privacy. They charged $500+ for the modem rental but over the course of a year it ended up being a pretty reasonable end cost.

what CPU are you using? Cuz windows 7 hates intel coffee lake series with a passion.

The thing is, it worked 2 hours ago
Then I got a new SSD and decided to install my os there
Now nothing works

i like having encryption but i dont like typing a ridiculous passphrase every boot
is there a single key keyboard i can bind my passphrase to?

You used Testdisk?

Does anyone else have a problem on Clover v3.0.0 or v3.0.1 where pressing the "View" button on the notification that pops up when there are new replies doesn't scroll to the bottom of the thread?

I'm going to upgrade my system soon and I will finally get an SSD. so obviously I wanna clean install windows on it, while keeping my HDD for storage.
Currently I have windows installed on a partition that I had made basically just for the os and drivers. Would I be able to format just that partition without fucking up everything else on the hard drive? I'm guessing all software would have to be reinstalled but to save at least the data

how do i fix my life?

There's a W10 version that doesn't make updates without permission?
Or there's a way to turn off Windows update?

You can reverse search using iqdb (the right-facing arrow at the top right of every post), and once you're there you can click "saucenao", which will give you a pixiv source. Iqdb gives you booru mirrors, but pixiv is where artists post their art themselves.

Tbh I tag images in Hydrus with their pixiv artist name, since boorus can easily lack so much from any artist's pixiv, so it wouldn't be of much use to you if I gave you their japanese name. If I recognize an artist I'd use their english name though.

Attached: autism tags.png (1488x870, 864K)

Goddamn it, meant to quote I typed that entire thing on my tablet, then when I mentioned Hydrus late into it, I retyped it on my laptop without realizing I didn't quote the guy at all.

Redefine what qualifies as "success". Presumably you aren't a meth addict, so your life is already in pretty good shape compared to a lot of people.

no

not sure if you mean that i used it and then it caused the order or if youre recommending it

i feel dead internally

Pretty :3

>do those benchmarks include runs where a user has eg 2x sets of that RAM kit, or specifically only one kit?
No idea, but I once ran this bench with 4 rando sticks that shouldn't be together but still functioned and it didn't pick any of the products i used.. just 'generic ram' so I think it doesn't.

>Could also be reporting the RAM capabilities rather than what they are actually running at, and mobo's support more overclocking on the smaller sticks

This is possible, more RAM on the same chips with the same cooling solution wouldn't OC as far would it

if Linux is written in C and to run it, it must be compiled
why the fuck is gcc not installed out of the box?

Hello. I am making a serious attempt, for the first time in my life, to understand programming at a deeper level. I learned a semester of Java 1 in high school.. meaningless. But I know some syntax. I don't think I know nearly enough. Should I just continue with Java? Making money programming and getting a head start on schooling (gonna give the whole college thing a go sometime in the near future).. but also being able to just program something when I want.

This dude I know is doing nodejs shit in javascript and is telling me to do Haskell. What?

What are some cool terminal commands?

i got a 1080ti for dirt cheap off a friend recently to replace my 770. my 550w power supply can't handle the glory and causes my games to crash after about 15minutes of gaming in newer titles. anything i can do alleviate the over power draw until i get a new psu? running a 4670k at stock along side the Ti

Attached: guts.jpg (2765x2074, 724K)

it's not a power issue, if it were insufficient power the card wouldn't be usable at all, your friend probably just unloaded a shitty card on you

>how do i make my power supply provide more power then it was physically created to supply

Moar. I want to cum!

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda

a reply pretentious enough to be on /v/

No. If you're lucky you can find more of the same set by reverse searching the pic on yandex, but we are not here to put porn on your lap for you.

you can reduce load by doing for example;
- underclock/undervolt your cpu, disable cores
- limit games to fewer cores by affinity
- limit fps to reduce gpu load

the card doesnt start off drawing 600+watts at startup. i'm sure it's my psu not being able to supply stable power at draw. was considering removing my HDD a fan and maybe underclocking my cpu

thanks, i was considering those options. just wanted a second opinion. ordering a psu tonight. any recommendations?

Can someone help me identify all the components to this server rack?
I swear, it's not for any schoolwork, I just want to know what each part does so I can better model it in 3D

Spyware was installed on my pc. What steps and/or programs should I use to fix my shit.

flatten
rebuild
restore from trusted backups
a system once compromised can never be trusted again. unless you're gonna spend days to weeks auditing your system for changes that open you up to new attack vectors

Whoa, this sped my machine up. Dude you rule.

I used AdwCleaner a few years ago, so I vouch for it. I ran it in safe mode with no networking, then I rebooted into safe mode (still with no networking) multiple times until it returned nothing. Then I did it a few more times in redundancy. My viruses came from a generic installer from thepiratebay, so idk.

>unless you're gonna spend days to weeks auditing your system for changes that open you up to new attack vectors
Not him but what does this mean.

it means going over all your firewall rules, registry settings etc.. to see what if anything was changed and change it back. much easier and more secure to just do a clean install. nearly every third party program you could want can be installed from powershell using chcolatey as long as you're connected to the web

Help. :(

Attached: Capture.png (692x185, 7K)

install gentoo

Well I don't know what anything was before, so I don't know how to check when anything was changed. What's wrong with just running an antivirus until it returns 0 results? Even if viruses can somehow undermine your registry protecting you, I don't see what that would change if the viruses are gone anyway.

EVGA Supernova or Seasonic PSUS, avoid Corsair PSUs.
Post speccy screenshot of your build to give you a idea how big it needs to be.

try 7-zip

makes it easier to get reinfected.

I just looked it up, I don't use linux

Like through your browser? Is there a .bat I can run to return everything to normal, cause reinstalling is a complete pain in the arse and will probably mean lost data for loved ones if you were to try to backup for them.

not the distro, the filemanager

you should already have backups, along with a current list of their preferred programs and default settings. or y'know cheat and image their disc before anything gets infected and just restore from that

So with spyware could they see everything i typed even in word documents or just in browser?

Or just at all with your keyboard plugged in and the computer on.

reinstall OS

Aw that sucks haha lol

can the government install spyware on my computer?

Attached: Capture3.png (1920x423, 19K)

Suddenly cant connect to or discover my windows 10 and 7 machines across my network. Both are setup up for file sharing and network discovery over the private network.
What the fuck am I missing here, something with the firewall?

How did you do it?

Part 19 is corrupted, redownload.
Also why the fuck are you downloading a game this big like this.
Repacks exist for a reason.

You're really pissing me off here, user. Do you realize how retarded it is anyway that I have to implore you to give me context across half a dozen back and forth posts, because you refuse to give context yourself. Why are you here? You're wasting your own time, and my tune. If you think I'm not entitled to context then don't open /sqt/.

Obviously "I should already have backups". In the same vein, I obviously should not have gotten viruses, nor should I be ignorant of things I want to know. What a useless post. I ask you again: does a a compromised registry make it eaiser to get infected through your browser, and is there a .bat I can run to return everything to normal.

I'm going to take a shit then shower since you're probably going to use 4chanX to see my post within 5 seconds, see that I'm losing my patience with you, then respond with an emotional passive aggressive post across less than a sentence since you're not here to educate, only wave your dick.

Example what im talking about:
fitgirl-repacks.site/final-fantasy-xx-2-hd-remaster/

>Tldr its a heavy compressed installer for the sake of saving data in a smaller download
>Precracked and ready to go

>being willing to run a random .bat file from 4chins
you're too stupid to help

because it's called "linux" and not "GNU/+-Linux"

Attached: 1136016567998.jpg (335x352, 49K)

keep going with java, or change to another popular industry language (not Haskell), but be decisive and stick with your choice until you've completed a few non-trivial projects in it. You need a solid conceptual foot in the door before you start reading about other languages/paradigms and explore the programming world (clusterfuck)

Attached: 1522276320941.jpg (275x183, 12K)

Actually part19 is the only file that shows up in the extracted folder (though its 0kb) so I think it's not just part19 that has a problem.
>>its a heavy compressed installer for the sake of saving data in a smaller download
Ok, I admit this is a novice question but I'm a computer novice so what wouls you expect. How is this different than regular compresses/zipped files? It's only 2gb less than the one from the website I downloaded from.
I don't know why it got so screwed up like this. I never had this problem with any of the games I played before other than individual corrupt files. I'm just sad for thinking all that data is gome to waste. :(

Also is that it or should I just buy another computer? I don't know how hard I'm getting fucked.

Its a single torrent file you can download, stop and continue whenever you want.
Also you can select what you can download in some, for example you can ignore the Spanish, Russian, Etc languages so you save around 1GB per language in the download.
Also the installer is literally open and click install.

How small is your current limit that you are complaining about 25GB?

Not him but really anything is possible these days with subvirt-style UEFI/firmware on the mobo that can host malware. I mean, the "management engine" stuff is basically malware already, and that comes shipped with mobos.

But no, for regular shitty viruses you don't need a new computer, just need to wipe your hdds and only keep data you've run AV on.

Where's a good place to get a cheap key for Windows 10?

I need to reinstall windows on my SSD but I don't have my key anymore

Had 10 retrains in the last 20 minutes and am over 50 thousand crc errors in just as much time, this wasn't an issue until last night. I think my landlord swapped the phone jack cable but I'm not 100% sure.

Anyone have any thoughts on if I'm on the right track and it's just the cable?
