I tried the distro for a while but had really bad screen tearing issues that I didn't experience with any other distros.
eOS serves one purpose and one purpose only, and that's to be a distro that "looks like OSX" and you're installing for your grandmother who keeps getting viruses.

I've been reading that LXQt is very buggy and development is slow, but considering it's being worked on for 18.10 perhaps it's improving faster. But also consider that it was supposed to replace LXDE in 15.10 and that Ubuntu releases that come right after LTS tend to be the buggiest.
